A short YouTube video (uploaded March 17, 2024 by Eric Deeran - Master Filmmaker) discussing why niching down—focusing on a single specialty—is important. The excerpt argues that specializing builds authority, that one cannot master many distinct high-skill domains (illustrated by surgeons), and that people realistically can only become excellent at one or two things in a lifetime.

Once you niche, it's. It opens up so many possibilities in.
That authority because you can't be a heart surgeon, a brain surgeon, and a foot doctor. I think when people realize how much time it really takes to get really good at one thing in one area, in one niche, they realize you can only pick one or two things in your entire lifetime to be really good.
Exactly.
You know, I think that's a good point for sure.
