So here's the hard truth. Your young adults stop talking to you because they simply do not feel safe in your presence. Every time they share something, they're scanning your face for judgment. One raised eyebrow, one sigh, even unsolicited advice—anything you do or say may put the wall up. So what you need to do is stop asking, "What's going on with you?" because that feels like interrogation to them. Instead, try this. Say, "Hey, I've noticed you've been quiet lately. How are you holding up?" This works because when they feel safe and they feel like you're not attacking them, they're going to talk. When they feel judged, they disappear. If you want to build trust and have some real conversations with your young adult again, put the word "talk" in the comments and I'll send you my free Conversation Starter Guide. See you in the next video.
