Only 17,000 jobs were added in September while corporate investment in AI rose 4.8%. For young people entering the job market, that means entry-level roles are shrinking, AI skills are becoming mandatory, and now is the time to learn and build something.

So I came across a really interesting article today about the jobs market, and since the government is shut down right now, other groups are taking up the reins and compiling the data. One of these groups is called the Carlyle Group, and what they did is that they found out that we only added 17,000 jobs in September, which is very low. In fact, Bloomberg thought that we would get 55,000 jobs in September, but we didn't make that. The second piece of data that I thought was extremely fascinating was that corporate investment is up 4.8%, but it's primarily around technology and AI. This is not a surprise, but it's just interesting to put the numbers to it because it highlights a few things. One, AI is a part of our world. We know that, and that all jobs, no matter what your age, are going to require that you know some level of AI. But with the AI restructuring our job market in this way, what does it mean for 20-year-olds? What does it mean for people fresh out of college who are still trying to figure out their footing in their career path and what they want to do with their lives? What it means for them is that obviously there's going to be less jobs, less opportunities. They're going to have to really stand out and really be passionate if they want that job. So that's the next thing. And the third thing that I think this means is that, especially for the 20-year-olds out there, is that this is the time to do a— to start your own business. To do something you're passionate about. It's like a recession. This is a great opportunity for you to take the time, learn AI, and use it to launch a business. So that's what I took away from that. I would love to hear what everyone else thought. Um, please leave your notes in the comment, and I'll see you in tomorrow's video. Thanks.
