A college grad is expected to pick one career and stick with it forever, like eating only vanilla ice cream. The speaker proposes the Pink Spoon Theory: taste different flavors in your twenties to figure out what you actually want before committing.

Imagine only being able to eat vanilla ice cream your entire life, not being able to sample mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, sea salt caramel. Imagine what that would feel like. Yet this is exactly what we ask young adults to do right after college. So I want to propose something new, and that is the Pink Spoon Theory. And that is that in your 20s, you need to sample different paths. You need to sample different flavors, much like you would ice cream. And then, and only then, will you know which one you find to be your favorite. So let me know in the comments, do you think the Pink Spoon Theory has a chance of catching on, or do I need to call it the Pink Spoon Effect? What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
