Either way, nothing is moving forward and you're not sure how much longer this will last. Now, you've probably tried a lot of things at this point. You've tried encouraging them to apply for jobs. You've tried backing off. You've tried sending them job listings. You've tried giving advice. You've tried a lot of things and nothing is working. And every conversation seems to go sideways before it even starts. But here's what I want you to know. You are not the problem. Again, you are not the problem. And your college grad is not lazy. But what they are is they're misaligned. And while laziness and misalignment look like the same problem, they require different solutions. And what I'm most proud about in my life is that I have two children, and they are both aligned and thriving. And when you think about it, that's what you really want. You want them to be aligned and thriving. I have a daughter who left college to go work at an animal Humane Society, and she is loving it. Then I have a son who just finished his freshman year studying marine science and again loving it. They're both so excited to wake up every day, and they feel so much in alignment with what they want to do and the path that they're on, and I could not be prouder. So what I do is I work with parents of struggling college grads, get them out of that advice-giving loop and establish a whole new relationship with their college grad that actually moves things forward.
