MOG LIVE

In this hour‑and‑a‑half live broadcast, host Francisco Javier Ortega and guest Cade York lead a conversational, teaching‑style discussion centered on the Christian gift of speaking in tongues. They share personal testimonies of longing for the gift, recount moments of breakthrough, and reference Scripture (e.g., 1 Corinthians 1‑2, Luke 11:9, Romans 8, Isaiah 28) to frame the theological basis for praying in the Spirit. The dialogue moves through themes of humility, the danger of seeking spiritual gifts for recognition, the need to replace fear of man with fear of God, and the role of boldness in exercising spiritual gifts. Practical experiences are described, including spontaneous utterances, intercessory prayers that led to tangible outcomes, and the way the Holy Spirit provides insight during prayer. The hosts encourage viewers to keep asking, seeking, and knocking for the Holy Spirit, warn against treating tongues as a badge of pride, and emphasize that the Spirit is always present within believers. The session concludes with a call to future MOG Live events, promotion of Ortega’s new book “Watch Your Mouth,” and a collective prayer for the audience’s filling with the Holy Spirit.

Good seeing you guys again. David. The first thing I told Kate, I was like, bro, the. Look at that nice comment where you were saying about the blessings of the Holy Spirit moving. And then Kate said, what's up with all the dots? So what's up with all the dots, David? What the heck, man? You should have just put an exclamation point.
Just lay down.

Holy Spirit, I ask that as we crack open your word, that you would crack open our hearts, that you would crack open up our vision to begin to see what you want us to See God. From the living, breathing word of God, we thank you that you are a supernatural God. And Lord, we thank you that you go higher than our thoughts. That your. Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Your. Your ways are greater than our own ways, Father. And so we just ask that you would help us tap into your thoughts and your ways today. In Jesus mighty name, let today draw us closer to you. Amen. Amen.
Amen.
All right, kid, what do you want to start off with, bro?
Yeah, man, I feel like this is. Can be a touchy subject for a lot of people. People, yes. And the body of Christ and even like brings mockery from outside of the body of Christ and in the body of Christ.
Yeah.
But man, it has been a huge part of my testimony. I say it all the time. I feel like I don't have that crazy of a testimony before coming to Christ, but all the crazy stuff has been after coming to Christ and really like after meeting like great men of God like you and like Steve Weatherford. Actually, it was one of the. I'd called myself a Christian. I still don't know the exact moment I got saved, but when I was in my second year in the NFL, I was with the New York Giants. I wasn't playing, but I was really like, I was trying to dive in deeper with God.
Yeah.
And one of the first, I got drawn to this series by John Bevere on the Holy Spirit. And it was a seven part series and he started teaching on tongues. And I was like, okay, this, I really respect this guy. But like, this is something that I grew up being really weird about. I was told to be careful about. And I obviously, like, just like being on social media, you'll hear like, you'll see a crazy video of someone maybe a little bit out of order.
Yeah.
And then everyone will like say, this is like tongues and it's demonic. And it's like, be careful of this stuff.
And that's actually the Corinth Church too.
Yeah, exactly.
Which is cool. We're going to get into that. The context is so important.
Yeah. So starting from then, I got very curious and even like I had a prayer closet in my residence inn in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where I tried every day for like 45 minutes to speak in tongues. And I just left.
Wait, how do you. How do you, how do you try to speak in tongues?
I just like, I was like, God.
Please, it's not a turd.
It's not like the harder you push. Yeah, I know. And so like, obviously I had learned from like a YouTube series. And YouTube series. They'll, like, pray like, Lord, like, open your heart to receive. And, like, yes, God does that. But it's also. We'll go to it later. Like, it's also taught in scripture that most of the time in Scripture, it was done through the laying on of hands. So I didn't have that.
This is good. This is good, because I know that we've got some people watching from North Dakota that I love dearly that are from my motherland. That.
Africa.
Yes, Africa. That, like, was like, I just don't think that someone needs to do it. I think God will just do it. And I was like, yeah, but God does it through people, too.
So you can't put God in a box, but you can also follow, like, biblical guidelines.
Amen.
You know, so I'm really happy. Anyways, this. I don't need to get all into my testimony, but the first person I actually heard spoke or speaking tongues in person was Frank Ortega.
Really?
At a launch pad. Yeah. In the. In the cold tub.
Wow.
Yeah. And it was like, okay. I may not know everything, but I know that was real.
Wow.
So that, like, that moment, I had a moment in New Jersey when I was the giants. That, like, it was moment that. I know from that moment on, I was saved. And then I'd say a little over a calendar year and a couple. A year and a couple days before I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, start speaking in tongues. And that is, like, the interesting part of my testimony of, like, that, like, wrestling with the Word. And I'm like, man, I really want this. I see other people around me, like, walking in this authority. I'm getting to the point where I understand Scripture says these things, and I feel like God's really put a grace on me in this area when it comes to people receiving the Holy Spirit of, like, getting out of this sense of, like, you have to understand everything.
Yeah, yeah.
And getting into this sense of, like, Scripture talks about, like, if you, like, your father on earth knows how to give good gifts, does your heavenly Father does. Would your heavenly Father not give you good gifts? And it's talking about receiving the Holy Spirit. And I finally got to the point where I was like, all right, I lay down my understanding. I just. If my good and perfect Father has a good and perfect gift for me, I want it, and I'm gonna leave it at that. And literally, like, two days later, I was speaking in tongues. And a lot of my understanding on script and what I feel like is sound understanding of Scripture and Doctrine has come after that. So if you're on this live and you're kind of confused about the subject, you're in good company.
Yeah, that's. That's what I want everyone on this life to understand. It's like, it's. I mean, the reason why I brought Kate York is, first of all, because he's got this insane gift of a teacher. Or we were even just talking before this live, like, when Joyful was here. And he just, like, connects these dots to something so much deeper than what is there to, like, the naked eye. Right. But on top of that, man, he just had. He. He was the most. I don't want to say critical, but kind of critical, like, person that I had run into where it was like, he just needed answers, question everything. Yeah. And it's not a battle. It's not a bad thing. It's not. It's really not a bad thing because God is God. And so I loved what my pastor said to you when he was like, man, like, don't worry about it. Like, you don't need to understand everything. You don't need to have all the answers.
Yeah. I wish more people question things. And that's something I found is, like, sometimes I feel like people avoid areas of scripture because it's like, oh, I don't know how to answer that. And for me, I'm like, I don't want someone to bring a scripture to me against, like, what I believe that I can't answer. So that's where, like, we really dive into things. Um, so a lot of this is going to be, like, what I learned over that, like, year of, like, when I got to the point where I started to speak in tongues and, like, things I learned in scripture, but then also things after that and kind of just like, demystifying what the spirit is versus, like, just weird people that, like, take on that. Because I feel like there's this, like, divide of, like, normal people, like, end up being, like, Baptist and, like, not. And then there's, like, weird people that take on, like, this side just because they were weird in general. But I find myself to be pretty normal. And I love the Holy Spirit same. And I feel like weird people and people that have done things wrong have put this, like, image on it. But also Satan hates it.
Yeah.
And we'll get into this more, but it's kind of just a quick bit. But it's the one thing when we pray that Satan or any demonic power principality around us, spirit cannot understand what we're saying because we're speaking a heavenly language.
Amen.
So, of course he hates it.
Amen, dude. Let's just jump straight into this, then, because, like, Molly right here, she's saying, as a child, I had an experience in the Pentecostal Church. Half the congregation busted out and wildly speaking in tongues.
Where'd it go?
Where's the comment go?
Did she delete it?
Molly, did you delete the comment? That was a good comment. Essentially, she was saying that, like, pews were flying, people were having seizures. Right. And then her final question was what we've been asked. Actually, like, I think the. The three questions that we've received so far, including that one, is all about interpretation of tongues.
Yeah.
Like, you know, according to the Bible, what is the purpose of praying in tongues? And how should it be handled when it's spoken over someone without interpretation?
She's rewriting also. That's really cool. David Bryson said it was when I prayed for him. That's so cool.
Where does it say.
It says mine without launch pad as well. And it was Cade spoke the moment.
Let's go.
That's awesome. So, yeah, I have a lot of things, and I usually have a script I follow, but since this is more of a conversation, we can jump around and kind of just answer questions. And I find, obviously, the best way to answer these things is just to go to Scripture.
Amen.
And I have a cool bit that I actually like in, like, digging in today that I felt like God kind of showed me, which is something I did not know the answer to before today. So praise the Lord for that. But I always find the best one to go to is First Corinthians 14, and this whole area, 12, 13, and 14. It is Paul talking about in the church. And I feel like this is, like, the biggest question. It's like, when is it right to speak in tongues? When is it wrong to speak in tongues? Like, what are the guidelines? And all this stuff?
And this is when it's all addressed, too.
It's all addressed in this one chapter. And I feel like the import. One really important thing is, is when we look at Scripture, it is like they're. Maybe I don't have a great example on top of my mind, but with tongues, if you just take one piece of Scripture and you isolate it and you don't account for everything else Scripture says about tongues and praying in the Spirit, it is really easy to build your theology on. Like, not speaking in tongues.
Yeah.
And I just want to say, like, man, like, if you don't speak in tongues, it doesn't mean you're not saved. I believe, like, there are great men of God that have done way more for the kingdom than I have, that have never spoken tongues. So this is not. I don't. There are Pentecostals that say if you don't speak in tongues, you're not saved. I don't believe that because I believe that Paul was saved before. And it says that even the believers in Samaria, when Philip went, had already confessed that Jesus was Lord when Peter and John were sent out to them to baptize in the Holy Spirit so people can be saved and not speak in tongues. So I want to, like, shut down that crappy doctrine right now.
Also, you can be baptized by the Holy Ghost and not speak in tongues yet. Like, speaking in tongues is not the only evidence. Right. Because there's also people who are hurt a ton because they're like, yeah, someone said that I'm not baptized with the Holy Spirit because I don't speak in tongues. It's like, well, there's evidences to it.
Right.
Boldness being it also. Speaking in tongues being it also. So it's like if. If you don't speak in tongues yet. And this is something that Kade's done a great job of. Like, when he's teaching at these ministry events that we've been a part of, he's done a great job of letting people know, like, don't trip about it. Like, it's in you. It's in you. Just like when Paul told Timothy, stir up the gift that was in you when I laid my hands on you.
Right.
And then once we get into that a little bit more, I'll share, like, my testimony of how I experienced my gift, because it was way different than most people's as well.
Yeah.
But just. No. We're also going to address if you feel like. I feel like I'm baptized by the Holy Spirit, but I don't speak in tongues, and someone told me I'm not baptized by the Holy. We're going to address that, too.
Yeah. And the Holy Spirit doesn't force you to do anything. Correct. So if you don't like tongues or you're weirded out by it, then you're not going to do it. You're not going to speak in tongues. Yeah, for sure. Okay, so let's jump into this.
Cade also spoke over me this summer. From that day, I fully surrendered to the Lord. It was a moment that radically changed my life. Not because he spoke over me in tongues, but because it was the first time I Truly felt the love of God and the peace that surpasses all understanding consumed me. I finally, for the first time in my life, felt the Holy Spirit moving. There's more detail I could go into, but like Cade said, I knew when he was speaking in tongues.
He.
It was real. This is. This is good. This is good. I feel like we just flow. I feel like we just flow. Then this is. This is really good because this is like. Some people ask the question, like, why are people praying in tongues over other people? Here's what I would say. Scripture says that when you're praying in the Spirit, when you're speaking in tongues, right? Just know that there's lingos to it, whatever. But if you hear, say tongues or praying in the Spirit is the same thing, we're addressing the same thing unless we clarify other words. The Bible says that when you are praying in the Spirit, that you are praying the perfect will of God. Now, I'm really good at quoting scripture. I'm not good at pointing you exactly to where the scripture is, but praise God for Google. And there we go. And Kate has it. Praise God for Kate, too, and for Zoe, his better half. And so I remember there was. There was Romans 8:26 through verse 27 is where it's talking about that. What does it say? Where is it? In the same way the Spirit helps us in our weakness, we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he think about this, the people who say it doesn't sound like a language. It just sounds like you're making noises. Well, right here it's saying that we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. So when you're praying in the Spirit, or let's put it this way, when you're praying through the Spirit, when you're praying through the Spirit, you're actually praying in according to the perfect will of God. So when I've prayed for people, and now here's the thing, you gotta use spiritual maturity. That's why the Corinth Church in chat in chapter 1st Corinthians, chapter 14. The context of that is the Corinth Church was a church that emphasized a lot on spiritual giftings. It was a lot like the church that you described. Actually, Molly. It was a lot of spiritual Gifting, but lack of spiritual maturity. And so they were just acting a fool. They were acting a fool. So the Bible itself says in Romans that through wordless groans. So when you hear someone speaking and it doesn't make sense, and it doesn't sound like a language and it doesn't sound like words, now you've got context to it from the word of God. And so this is why I believe Darby and power of the testimony. Darby, I believe you experienced the Holy Spirit like never before. Because Cade, in that moment, I'm not going to speak for him, but I'll speak for myself. There's moments where I don't know what to pray over someone. So what's the best thing that I can do if I don't know what to pray over someone is pray the perfect will of God over them. How do you do that? Through praying in the spirit. Or we could say praying through the Spirit.
Yeah. And I'd also say, I can't remember who I heard this from, but someone I respected. It was praying in the spirit. When you don't know what to pray, it's almost you getting out of your flesh and helping you listen to God. Of, like, how can I encourage this person?
Yeah.
But I also just found a trend. And I'm not saying this is, like, sound doctrine. It's just something I noticed is that when I'm trying to help people get baptized in the Holy Spirit, me speaking in tongues almost encourages or helps them feel comfortable or like, whatever, like, builds the environment. I'm not sure that's not sound doctrine. I could be corrected. It's just something I noticed.
Yeah.
Like I said, we're not here, like, saying, like, thus says the Lord.
Yeah.
But let's just go to scripture and have a conversation. I do want. I know that. Yeah. Molly was talking about the church. I think it's important, like, let's just go through some scripture and then, like, let's just go, like, hit question. Question. You want to do First Corinthians 14. Yeah. That's where I'm at.
I feel like we could just read that entire scripture.
Yeah. Yeah. That's what. That's what I kind of plan on doing. And kind of hitting different parts. I feel like it kind of answers. And it's fun. By the way, if there's scripture that doesn't really fun, like, seem like it makes sense to your doctrine. Like, we. We can't be scared of reading it.
Yeah.
Because the Word has to come over all of our beliefs. So let's just go through it, follow the way of love and eagerly desire the gifts of spirit, especially prophecy. I think people, like, always get caught up on the prophecy part. It's like, well, it says eagerly desired over tongues. It's like, yes, yeah, prophecy is better than tongues. But you're also talking about in the church setting.
Correct.
And two, that doesn't say don't desire tongues.
Correct. Paul is very clearly speaking to the church setting in that scripture. And, and he. I mean, he's. It says it in scripture. Just keep reading because we're going to get to that part.
It says for anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people, but to God. We just said that indeed no one understands them. They utter mysteries by the Spirit. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging, and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves. So edifying yourself is a great thing, just FYI. But the one who prophesies edifies the church. So it's talking about the. The difference between individually and with the body. Like in a group setting. Again, this is Paul talking to, like in a church setting or in a meeting setting. It says, I would like every one of you to speak in tongues. Would he say that if everyone wasn't.
Able to and if it wasn't for everyone?
I don't believe so. And there's other places where, like in 1 Corinthians 12, it says, like, do all. Like, prophesied. Do all have. Do all heal? Do all speak in other tongues?
Yeah. Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? And of course not. You should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.
So you could take that and you just, like, hold that and be like. Well, it says do all. Well, in my experience, it's like people have special graces on them for like, one area. But it's one spirit.
Yes. It's not like the spirit of tongues spirit.
Prof.
It's the Holy Ghost, so.
And again, like, we're open to answering questions and y' all, like, giving yalls opinions or whatever. But it does say, I would like every one of you to speak in tongues. And I don't feel like there's anywhere in Scripture where it says, like, I would like you all to do this and it's not possible for everyone to.
Do that because then God would be a man that he's a liar.
Yes. But it says that I would rather have you prophesy in the church setting. For the one who prophesied is greater than the one who speaks in tongues. Unless someone interprets. So now the church may be edified. Again, everything's in the the context of to the church, correct?
Molly, I'm going to answer your.
Your question now. Brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you? Unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? Even in the case of lifeless things like make sounds such as a pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there's a distinction in the notes? Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? Again, this isn't a case where you want people to know what you are saying. Like you're, you're trying to edify the church. You will be speaking into the. Undoubtedly. There are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meeting. If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker is a foreigner to me. So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of spirit, try and excel in those that build up the church. That's not saying don't desire the gift of the spirit. It's saying also desire gifts that build up the church, which would be prophecy.
And it's important to understand contextually here. This church was a church that was consistently seeking self promotion. This was a church that was consistently seeking status because of the church of Corinth, where it was, where it was planted and placed or whatever. The city of it was a port where you had so much richness coming through and so much like sexuality and all that stuff going on. So you had a lot of people wanting to become the prominent figure. In other words, you had a bunch of attention.
Yeah.
Is, is what you had. Right. That's why Paul addresses women the way he addresses them here. But in others churches, you don't see him address women that way because they were acting a certain way in that specific church. Right. And so you see, that's what you're noticing here is he's, he's trying to get us to get to the heart posture of, hey, care about loving more than you care about being the most spiritually gifted right now. Care about loving the people. That's what, that's, that's Paul's heart posture in this chapter. Sorry. Keep going.
Yeah. And I also want to. What was I going to say? I might have just lost it. It'll come back to me. Where was I? Okay. For this reason, the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. So the one who speaks should ask, should pray that they are able to interpret it. And it says, for if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? This is. People don't get to this part. They stop before this many times. I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding. I will sing with my spirit, but I also sing with my understanding. So Paul's. This is again, in the context of the church. He's saying he will do both. And even, like, people get thrown off if, like, during worship, I pray in the Spirit a lot. I feel like that's a time that I'm like, it's a perfect will of God. And then, like, if I'm praying, I'm sure I'm loving God with, like, my whatever. Like, the Spirit is saying out of that, like, heart posture. And I feel like people get thrown off by that. Like, in church. I also. That's what I was going to say when it comes to the church of Corinth, I. If I believe, it's a Gentile church, right? So a Gentile church does not have a Jewish background of the laws of, like, what temple looks like, of what, like, order of things. And I. Actually, the church I go to, they have this thing called both and conference and how God is both spirit and order. He's both the word and power. Like the. It's. It's both. And Jesus was both the smartest man in the room and the most powerful man in the room. So they were all spirit, no order, which throws people off. And like, for me, that's something that threw me off a lot in that year when I was trying to, like, step into, like, spiritual, like, speaking in tongues and things like that. So I think that's a good context to have as well. All right, starting and going back to verse 16. Otherwise, when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else who is now put in the position of inquirer say amen to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying, which is why you have to speak in a language they can understand. You were giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. Sounds like a brag. It's pretty sick brag, actually.
Pretty dope brag.
But again, I think that qualifies people as speaking in tongues.
Claude needs to humble himself.
But in the church, I would rather speak five. And in the church, I'd rather speak five intelligent words to instruct others than 10,000 words in tongue. Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. And actually, let's stop here. I have a really cool point after that. So I think, like, maybe let's paint a picture of, like, what tongues isn't or shouldn't be in our opinion. Again, in our opinion and based off of, like, scripture. I know that.
Let me address what Molly asked there. You can grab it and put it on your lip. You can use it on your leg. It's really.
No, I actually haven't answered it with Molly. I pulled it up earlier.
Really cool. So Molly said, I don't agree with the wordless groans being speaking in tongues. I believe that means in a moment of despair, like Hannah praying for a child before having Samuel, Elijah thought she was drunk. Well, let me put it this way. In acts, they also thought that they were drunk, right? But then on top of that, who are we to say what an unknown language sounds like? Because even today, I mean, we've all seen the videos, right? Like, you see people from, like, my homeland Africa, you know, and they're, like, talking, and it's just like clicking and clacking. It's like. And people could be like, do not clip that. Clip that. So that is a language. That is a tribal language, right? So who is to say when someone is speaking in tongues that that is not some language that we have yet to hear, right? That that type of thought process can come from a place of, like, I know what a language is supposed to sound like, but we don't, because there's even tribes that haven't even been. Been completely, like, discovered yet, right? So whenever it comes to that, it's like, sure, could it mean that? But it could also mean. It could also mean that there are languages that are being spoken when people are praying in the spirit, right? That we have no idea. And here's the thing, it's a heavenly language, so it's probably not going to sound like anything here on earth. So that's what I would say to that.
Yeah. I would also say, if you go, and I'm going to get to this version a little bit, I'll speak more on it. But Isaiah 28:11 in the KJV, if we look and it's quoted in 1st Corinthians 14. That's why I have it. But it says, with stammering lips and another tongue, will he speak to this people? So I feel like there's a lot of times this argument. Oh, my gosh, that's ridiculous. I saw that comment, Haley. I was wondering what you're laughing at. Yeah, I think a lot of times people will make the argument that, oh, tongues is just for, like, you're actually speaking a foreign language. But I've had my own experience that was cool. Where I was speaking in tongues. And I remember I. It sounded exactly the same as it always does. And somebody heard me in English and told me about it, like, two hours later.
Yeah. Which is also a good thing to think about. How many people are in a church service, hear someone praying in tongues, interpret it, but don't have the boldness to share it?
I'm sure there's.
That could be happening as well.
But so I had the idea of. And again, this is not like me saying, thus says the Lord, but in Acts 2. Two or three? Two. I think it's two. Maybe three. No, it's three. Anyways, when. The day. On the day of Pentecost, when they began speaking in tongues, I believe to themselves, like, it was a prayer language, like tongues of, like, stammering lips, but people heard it in their own language. I'll actually go to it right now because I have a. Yeah, there's a certain.
And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. At that time, there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers. They were completely amazed. How can this be? They exclaimed. These people are from Galilee, and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages. Here we are. Names off all the places. And then it says later on in verse 11, and we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done. They stood there amazed and perplexed. What can this mean? They asked each other. But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, they're just drunk, that's all.
Yeah. Which there's some cool connections. I'm about to get there, too. But I think people can take that and they can grab a hold of it. Okay. It was just used to, like, spread the church and speak to people that don't understand it. And I believe that still happens today. I've heard stories about people on missionaries. They begin to Speak in tongues? Yeah, Like John Bevere talks about. He was in Mexico and he was speaking in tongues and they began to hear him in. In Spanish. But I don't believe necessarily that John started speaking in Spanish. He might have.
Correct.
I'm not sure. But from my own experience of, like, I know I didn't change how I sounded because I remember the moment where it happened.
Yeah. So to you it felt very normal.
It felt normal. But the way the Holy Spirit, like, hit their ears. So, like, the way I interpret that passage there is that they didn't change what they were like speaking.
Yeah.
Because other people said they sounded drunk.
Yeah.
Those other people, I'm sure, had heard other languages before.
Yeah.
They came like, y' all sound drunk.
Yeah.
The people that didn't hear in their own language. And then Peter's like, we're not drunk. It's like 10 in the morning. So in my head, that means that some people heard gibberish and some people.
That believed heard language.
Heard language. And so I'm going to get to a point with that, actually, which is a cool thing, which I think kind of actually, that just connected the dots for me.
This is so cool.
Kind of sounds more like the truth to me because of this point. So if you go to verse 21, it says. Or actually, let's start in verse 20. Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil, be infants, but in your thinking, be adults. In the law, it is written with other tongues, and through the lips of foreigners, I will speak to this people, but even then, they will not listen to me, says the Lord. Tongues then are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Stop right there. That used to throw me off so much. I'm like, what the heck does that even mean? What do you mean? It's a sign for unbelievers. Unbelievers don't speak in tongues.
Yeah.
And when unbelievers hear tongues, it kind of pisses them off and they get weirded out. Well, now it makes sense to me. Okay, so we go back. Isaiah 28:11 is the verse. It's is the verse that Paul's quoting. So I'm gonna go back to. In scripture real quick. I'm gonna read some of it in the kjv and then I'm going to read the rest of it in an ivy. So actually, no, I'm going to start in ivy. So set the scene for Isaiah 28. There are, I believe, it's tribes in northern Israel or part of northern Israel. The leaders of Ephraim and Judah that the Lord is not happy with. He's trying to speak to them, and they're not listening. And this is what he says about them. And these also stagger from wine and real from beer. This is verse 7, Isaiah 28:7. And these also stagger from wine and real from beer. Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine. They reel from beer. They stagger when seeing visions. They stumble when rendering decisions. All the tables are covered with vomit, and. And there is not a spot without filth. Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk for those just taken further from the breast. So you see, like, these are priests and prophets that are, like, not doing what they're supposed to be doing. They're drunk. They're not doing this. And it says in verse 10, for it is, do this, do that. A rule for this, a rule for that. A little here, a little there. We'll come back to that part, because that's actually really cool. And verse 11 says, Very well, then. With foreign lips and strange tongues. But in. In the kjv, it is for, with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. So that sounds. Paul obviously uses it when talking about tongues in First Corinthians 14. But we'll come back to that. So he says, for with stammering lips and strange tongues, God will speak to this people to whom he said, this is the resting place. Let the weary rest. And this is a place of repose. But they would not listen. So these. These priests and prophets, these people in the northern part of Israel would not listen. And it says, so then the word of the Lord to them will become, do this, do that. A rule for this, a rule for that. A little here, a little there, so that as they go, they will fall backwards and they will be injured and snared and captured. What does that sound like?
That's just gangster, dude.
So if y' all aren't catching, says that these. It says that God. So what happened in this time period is God used the Assyrians, I believe, who are people that don't speak their language. God used them to judge the people of Israel. And it was assigned to the people that weren't listening. So God used a foreigner with foreign lips and strange tongue, and it said, with stammering lips and a foreign. So we see it in this context here, but it's also used as a prophetic sign, talking about tongues. Amen so it says this is the resting place. So a place of rest and a place of repose. And it talks about. I read it earlier. What was the word that he used? Refreshing. It was almost like the word of refreshing. But they would not listen. So the word of the Lord will come to them, will become do this, do that, and rules. That sounds like the Pharisees, right? Yeah, sounds like the Sadducees. It sounds like the religious people in Jesus's day.
So sounds like the American church.
So to me, this is how like I felt like the Lord gave me understanding in says very well. For with stammering lips and another tongue he will he speak to this people. And it's. And then Paul says in First Corinthians 14, it's a sign to the unbeliever. So now I'm seeing stammering lips and foreign language is a sign to the unbeliever that they were ignorant about what God was speaking to them. They weren't listening about and they were ignorant to the word of God. So not only in this weren't listening to God's word, But now in First Corinthians, Paul is saying in Acts 3 that that was a sign to the unbeliever because the Jewish people at that time would have recognized that reference. Isaiah 28.
Yeah.
That they were being ignorant to God's word. And God is literally saying that you are ignorant to me, sending the word who became flesh, which was Jesus. You were ignorant. And this is your sign that you're an unbeliever and that you were ignorant. That people are among you right now, speaking with stammering lips and speaking in foreign languages. Isn't that so freaking cool? It's really cool. So we see one stammering lips. Yeah, I feel like that's a big part is like stammering lips. That's what tongue sounds like. Yeah, I don't know. I'm still stuck on that. That's so freaking cool.
It's really cool, bro.
And I didn't see that till like literally like two hours ago.
That see that? That's what I love about Katie York is he just connects these things, like the cross referencing of the Bible. You guys have seen that, that Dalton said. That's heavy. Amen. That's heavy. You guys, you've seen that picture where it's like all the cross references in the Bible.
Yeah.
I feel like that's what your life is turning into. You're just like cross referencing everything. It's amazing.
So, yeah. So the whole point so this is.
Good, though, because this addresses Jordan. Because Jordan said, where is he? Where is he? Why were the tongues in Acts 2 human languages or Hebrews and not language to God? We just addressed that.
Yeah. So I don't believe that that's. I believe it's same. Same. Yeah, almost. It's like the Holy Spirit, just like he can cause you to speak in tongues, he can cause someone to hear it a certain way. Just like the Lord can speak to you, can hear it in your own head when no one said anything.
Yeah.
So I believe that. And I believe the reason it's assigned to the unbeliever isn't because it's a sign of the unbeliever of, like, oh, they're speaking in your language. No, he's talking about it's a sign of the unbeliever, as in the Jews that are ignoring the word of God. And because they ignored the word of God, it says. Oh, I just got rid of it.
Would you say, bro, that this would correlate almost with modern day with people rejecting the Holy Spirit?
Yes, because it literally says it. Hold on. Sorry. This is. I missed this part.
Convicting, bro.
So it says. So then the word of the Lord will become to them, do this, do that. A rule for this, a rule for that. A little here, a little there. So that as they go, they will fall back or they will be injured and snared and captured.
That sounds like a riddle. That sounds like the Riddler.
That's how God speaks parables, bro. So it's like. But also, here's another cool piece. To whom he said, this is a resting place. Let the weary rest. Let this be a place of refreshing. When he's talking, It's a prophecy about the Holy Spirit coming. People speaking in tongues. It's how you can argue that speaking in tongues brings refreshing on your spirit.
That's so good.
And also that Jesus is a place of rest.
Yes. And where's the scripture? Where's the scripture where it talks about that when you pray in the spirit, you build yourself up.
I might have saved it. I had, like, some saved in text.
Maybe Zoe has it. See here.
Oh, that was. That was in First Corinthians 14. Yeah, yeah. They.
Oh, edifies himself. That's right.
Yeah. So, man, do any of y' all have questions on that area? If not, I feel like we can kind of jump into. I feel like something else that people really get caught up on. And I even heard.
Well, let's recap before. Go ahead, Zoe.
No, I know Molly had a.
The question in her top one. I think she was asking why there was an interpreter for. Oh, yeah, correct. The interpreter.
Yeah.
Why not? Yeah. So I guess my question is, why are. Why are people speaking in tongues without an interpreter? Yeah.
Oh, it's Jude120. But you, dear friends, by building yourselves in your most holy face and praying in the Holy Spirit.
There we go.
Thank you, Isaac.
Amen. Hey, let's go, Isaac Black. Praise the Lord. Why are people praying in the Spirit and they're not. Now I see why you called in the Cade man. Aaron. Love you, Cade. Here. Here's the thing again. Paul was giving instruction when that scripture was shared, right? About how there should be an interpreter in the room. It's because of churches like the one that you went to, Molly. Churches that were so out of whack. So if Paul was here modern day, he would have gone to that church and said, hey, y' all need to chill out. Because this is not edifying the body now. It's creating more chaos than it's creating breakthrough. Right? But then you also have these beautiful moments, like with Darby. Right? And then I also remember Zachary Liebman and Austin Nelson. These are people that I prayed for. Austin, right? That's his last name. Austin Nelson.
Yeah.
So when I prayed for them, I prayed for them only in the Holy Ghost. I didn't use my own language, right? I. I just prayed in the Holy Ghost because I felt like I was supposed to. And Austin then testified and he said, man, I don't know if any of you guys experienced what I experienced, but Frank came and he just prayed for me in tongues. And he said. And I just felt a fire shoot into my stomach. Zachary Lehman, same thing. He said here I. You're the first person I've ever heard pray in tongues. He was like. And it was this overwhelming sensation of the Father's love. Darby just testified to this. Experiencing the same thing with Cade. Right. So is it bad to pray in the Spirit in public? No. Is it bad to try and make a spectacle of it? Absolutely. And that's what Paul's doing. The First Corinthians, chapter 14 is a corrective chapter. It's being written as a pastoral chapter, telling the church to get their stuff in line because they're acting up way too crazy. That's what First Corinthians really is about, Right? Because he even says it in one of the chapters. I forget which chapter, but he's saying, like, I wish I could talk to you about all the good you're doing. But I've got to address some really important things. You guys are acting out of whack. So, Molly, Jordan, everyone who's asking about an interpreter, if you're going to a church where they're just praying in the Spirit the entire service and you guys are leaving non edified, they should have an interpreter.
Yeah, that's. It's First Corinthians 14:23. So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you're out of your mind?
See, so the Bible's lit. The Bible's literally agreeing with what you guys are agreeing with, but it's circumstantial.
And it's also. You can't take that and not accept a part where Paul says, I will pray in the spirit, and I will pray in a language. Understand? I will sing in the spirit, and I will sing in a language I understand. Actually, your pastor and someone I enjoy listening, Jonathan Shuttlesworth, talked about the setup of the church and why he does it the way it is. It's not. He gets up on the stage and speaks in tongues for an hour.
Yeah.
And no one gets edified. They worship. He preaches, he teaches. And then there's moments where he, like, all right, like, if you're filled with spirit, pray in the Spirit. And if you. If you aren't, just, like, start thanking God and praying, and it's like two minutes of prayer. And it's not necessarily like, we're praying as a body.
Yeah.
But we're not praying of, like, for understanding. So, like, in church, usually people don't walk in two hours in. Correct. They walk in, like, when church service starts. So if someone's an unbeliever, they just listened to preaching and teaching for an hour and a half, and they were edified, so they wouldn't just, like, walk into, like, a holy mess.
Yeah, yeah, correct. So. So here. Here's the thing. It's what Cade mentioned at the beginning. Right. It's both. And y'.
All.
It's both. And that. That's what I believe. There have been insanely powerful moments when somebody publicly prays in the spirit. And then there has been very damaging moments when somebody's only publicly praying in the spirit. Right. And so I believe that God will use both. And I believe when things start to get out of order, that's when correction needs to come into play. Right. But if somebody came to me and was like, hey, why are you praying in tongues when Zachary Liebman got wrecked by the Holy Ghost because I was praying in tongues. Or then the same thing whenever I was praying for Austin Nelson and he got wrecked, or Cade was praying for Darby and she got wrecked, would that person not be in the wrong, or would that person not be acting out of the flesh and in their own offenses and in their own mental capacity by saying, you shouldn't have done that? Because I don't understand it when that person is getting wrecked by the Holy Spirit. Right. So I believe that it takes on our end as humans naturally, just like the ability to say like. Okay, it's both. And the Bible very clearly is showing that there is times for it and that there's times for it to be done in a certain way. Because even in 1st Corinthians 14, it is not saying not to do it. Right. Which then leads to the question on the interpreters, what if there are people that are interpreting but they don't have the boldness to speak up? Just like when Cade was praying in the spirit, somebody all of a sudden was like, whoa, I knew exactly what you were saying. But it took him two hours to bring it up. Took him to her. It's not like, people just always say, like. And how would you know? Like, this is also. It's also interesting. Like, I would love for God to begin to reveal to people, like, who can interpret tongues. Right. Because how would you know if you hear. If I hear Cade praying, but I'm hearing English, but he's praying in the Spirit. How would I know he was praying in the spirit? Like, that's also a very interesting, like, dilemma that I feel like somebody that has that gift. What if someone has their eyes closed, someone's praying in the spirit on the stage, and they're hearing English and they don't even know they're interpreting what's being prayed. So it's just a very interesting concept. Right. Or just topic to talk about. But I don't think that that justifies saying you should not be praying in the Spirit in public.
Because Paul says, don't forbid it. Correct.
He says, do not forbid the speaking in tongues. And what's happened is people have started to do that.
Yeah. Where else should we go?
Public declarations in a church setting should be interpreted. I agree. I have witnessed this happen at my church. Really? Cool. That's sick. Isaac Black said one fact, fun fact. Praying in The Spirit releases two chemicals that boost your immune system 35 to 40%. God is no respecters of persons. It's for him that's cool. I didn't know that. I mean, it makes sense. It builds up your inner man and you're playing in the Holy Ghost. So there's just like a cleansing and.
And based off what I shared earlier, where it was like talked about like rest and refreshing. Yeah, I feel like that makes sense too. Where it's like that was prophecy about tongues.
Yeah.
That it brings a refreshing over your body.
It's so. It's so cool. And then Darby said, this is so helpful. When I shared my experience about being prayed over in tongues, some people met me with a ton of bad. That's so sad, dude.
I'm sorry about that.
Yeah, I'm so sorry that people are trying to ruin your experience with God because it doesn't look the way that they think. Think it needs to look. Sorry, I'm getting pissed. I don't like people doing that. This is so helpful. When I shared. Some people met me with a ton of backlash that it was wrong without an interpreter and. Etc, etc. So I felt I had to shrink back about sharing what I felt. Don't do that.
Yeah.
You testify Pharisees. Pharisees got so triggered when a man that was lame got healed and began to walk and they started to come after him and. And no, no, no. If God healed you, if God touched you and just because it doesn't look the way that everybody thinks it needs to look, you testify the crap out of God's goodness. Because God can move in any way that he wants. God can get people to start speaking Spanish. God can get people to start speaking in the spirit and then someone will hear it in Spanish. God can do both. He's not limited to. To our line of thinking.
Yeah. I feel like now is the time that I take them through each of the occurrences and acts of people getting filled and debunk.
That's good. That's good.
I'm going to debunk now.
Let's debunk.
Okay. So first thing, there is a famous pastor that I actually love. Doesn't necessarily believe fully about or the same in this, which I think it's one thing we should. We should say right off the jump is that God uses everybody.
Amen.
If they believe that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Correct.
And they believe on like foundational parts of doctrine. I do believe the Holy Spirit is a foundational part of doctrine.
Same.
But many people are saved either way. And this man, this is man of God.
Yeah, this is good. Anyone hearing this right now, if you're having a hard time coming into agreement with, like, the fullness of what we're talking about. Praying in the spirit. Spirit. That does not mean that you are less anointed, and that does not mean that we are less anointed because of it. It's so. That's really good that you.
Yeah, I don't want. I'm not hating on anybody, but this is someone I actually. I respect and I like. He's got some crazy takes that are awesome.
Who is it?
I'll tell you afterwards. I don't want to, like, so bad about anybody, but he talked about how I remember being annoying. Like, man, like, dig a little deeper. That sounds prideful, but I don't mean it to be. But there's five occurrences in Acts where people are filled with the Holy Spirit. And in three of the five, it says that they spoke in other tongues. So if you stop there, you'd be like, well, three out of five. That means that not everybody necessarily speaks in tongues, but if you dig a little deeper, you can infer something different. So let's jump into it. Acts two, day of Pentecost. Oh, so it was Acts two, not Acts three. My bad. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit of Enabled. First off, there was like 120 people in the room, right?
Yes.
It wasn't just the 12 apostles. It wasn't just an apostleship thing. It was the same Spirit that was in Christ that was in all of them.
Yeah. So it's not just for the apostles.
Not just for the apostles. And so there was. And it says all of them. And they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. So there's one and that one. It was the first day Holy Spirit came. Like a wind, tongues of fire fell. And so that was the first occurrence. No one laid hands in this one. But it shows you that God can do it correct without the laying on of hands.
What are you debunking right now?
I'm getting to it.
Okay.
No, I was debunking that one. It's for everyone. Everyone was in the room.
Yeah. Also it says in Acts. Again, it's the same chapter, but it's the end. I'll just read 38, 38, 39. It says, Peter replied, each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away, all who have Been called by our Lord in God.
Good. Yeah. And also says the Same thing, Acts 2:17, which is talking about what's. It's Joey Sorrow.
Joel, good seeing you on YouTube.
Joel 2. 28, 32. And the last days. God says in the last days. We're still in the last days. In the last day, God says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams, even on servants, both men and women. So people that look at First Corinthians 12, and it says that prophecy will die off, knowledge will die off. Tongues will die off at the com when things are complete. You can't say things are complete. 1. And 2. It says here in Acts 2 that in the last days, he will pour out spirit and will prophesy visions, dreams. So you can't say that it's died off yet. So that debunks that it's died off.
So tongues is for everyone. And tongues has not died off.
There we go. All right, the next occurrence was Philip in Samaria. And I believe Acts 9.
And what we're gonna do after this, when we finish, we're going to do a baptism of the Holy Spirit. And what we did is we mailed you guys snakes to see if you have been filled, so the snake will then bite you. And if you're not poisoned, then it's evidence that you've been filled by the Holy Ghost.
So shut up.
Looking forward to that.
Okay. No, I was wrong. The next one's Saul.
Snakes were covered by MLG Ministries. Feel free to sow a seed if you want to.
All right, Acts 8. So this one's actually Saul, and this is one of the occurrences that he does not speak in tongues in the moment. Oh, no, I was wrong. Crap. This is Philip and Samaria. Sorry. Ignore me. So it says Philip went to Samaria. So this is actually a cool moment that I'll hit on. Philip was not an apostle. And like, a chapter before, Philip was actually chosen as one of the people to hand out food to the widows. So it shows you, like this. This what? He wasn't even saved, necessarily, yet he, like, filled with the spirit, was helping widows eat. And then, like, a chapter two later, he's preaching the gospel in Samaria. And it says that when the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs, he performed. Signs are not just for the apostles.
Amen.
They all pay close attention to what he said. For with streaks, impure spirits came out. And many, many who were Paralyzed or lame were healed. So there's great joy in the city.
Amen.
So then it says that when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers, where they were or that they may receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them. So you can be saved and not have not filled. Not filled yet. They had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on him and they received the Holy Spirit. So this is one of the occurrences where they say that they didn't speak in tongues. Yeah, but I want to hit on something. When Simon the sorcerers saw, or Simon the sorcerer saw that the spirit was given at the laying on the Apostleians, he offered them money and said, give me also disabilities that everyone whom I lay my hands on, they receive the Holy Spirit. What are the odds that he saw the exact same thing that they saw the day of Pentecost? A bunch of people speaking gibberish.
That's crazy. And this also talks about the laying on of hands.
Yeah. So the laying on of hands, where we get the doctrine of why it's unto the laying on of hands.
And two, Marco, I'm going to lay my hands on you when I go.
I'm going to touch you.
I'm going to touch you, bro.
But you can. You can't say that they didn't speak in tongues because Simon saw something. Yes. Would it maybe be easier if he said Simon heard something? Sure. But Simon saw something. And when someone falls out and starts speaking in tongues, you see something, you see it.
That's how I saw Cade fall out in the spirit and receive a spiritual gift.
You didn't hear me though, because it's quiet.
Yeah, I did not. I did not hear him. But when he came back to sit down with us, bro was high.
I was laughing on the floor for like three minutes.
Yeah, I. You would have sworn that he fell down and took a hit of fentanyl and then tried coming back to his seat. And. And Kate is not that kind of person. He doesn't do fentanyl. He's not that kind of person where he'll like, fake anything like that. So it was like. It was so cool. Maybe I'll like, post the video of you receiving.
Hold on. I want to answer Micah Smith. Yes. I believe that you can be saved and not filled with the spirit. I believe that there are many people. I do believe that there's a difference between being marked and saved. I believe that you are marked when you confess that Jesus is Lord.
Do you mean saved? You're saved when you confess that Jesus is Lord.
You know, I don't know. This is where I don't know about sound. Soundness of doctrine. I can dive in on this part more. But I believe for multiple reasons. Actually, let's not even jump in on that. Let's just say one, the people in Samarit says that they believed and many miracles were done, and then the apostles came and filled them with the Holy Spirit. So I believe just off of that, you can infer that you can be saved and not filled and need to be filled. Yeah, Yeah. I also believe that Saul, who becomes Paul, is evidence for that as well, because it says, obviously, Jesus met him on the road to Damascus, became blind, and he went to Ananias. Lord. Ananias answered, I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call in her name. But the Lord said to Ananias, go, this man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name. And then Ananias went to the house, entered it, placing his hands on Saul. So he laid his hands on him, and he said, brother Saul, you usually don't say brother Saul to people that aren't saved. Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who has appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit. So he laid his hands on him, and he's filled the Holy Spirit also. When. When Saul, Saul falls the ground, Paul, he fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? He says, who are you, Lord? So he calls Jesus Lord in that moment, which is kind of cool.
That is cool.
So I believe. And he said, yeah. So I believe that Paul was even saved as he was blind, walking to meet Ananias. But it doesn't say that he spoke with tongues. But we know that Paul spoke in tongues because he says, I pray in the Spirit more than all of you. And he teaches the Corinthians about. In 1st Corinthians 14. Okay, two more times. And both these times, it says they spoke in other tongues. So the next one is the first Gentiles to Speak in tongues with Peter and Cornelius. It says, while Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all. This is Acts 10:44. While people. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. So it's for the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
Amen.
So this is an occurrence where you can't say that God won't do it, not to the laying on of hands. It can even be done while the Word is being preached, so some be being ministered to, and the Spirit just hits him. And I've heard stories about this happening.
It's both again, y'. All. We keep seeing a pattern here through the Word of God. It's a both and. Yeah, it's a both and. Like, that's what I was trying to tell Marco in North Dakota, because he was like, I don't believe men need to do it. Like, I believe God will just do it. I'm like, I believe God will do both, because the Word shows both.
Yeah. But I also say if. If there's a. I'm not gonna. I'm gonna hit both sides of it, you know? Like, if I'm not receiving it, I want a mandalaya's hand.
Like, yeah, I'm trying the other route, too.
Like, impartation. Like, something is given through impartation.
So it's like when Elijah put the mantle on Elisha.
Yep. And then the last one is Paul and Ephesus with the Ephesians. And this is another example for you can be saved, but not filled with the Spirit. While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked him, did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? So when you believed, they answered, no, we have not even heard there is a Holy Spirit. So Paul asked them, then, what baptism did you receive? John's baptism, they replied, which was a Baptist or baptism of repentance? Or Paul told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is in Jesus. On hearing this, they were baptized in the name Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them. And they spoke in tongues and prophesied. They were about 12 men in all. I think another thing I want to. So here's, like, another example of, like, I believe you can be Saved and not filled. It also is really important what you're taught because we look back in. If you go Back to Acts 18, Apollos is who taught the people of Ephesus. But even Apollos, I think it was Priscilla. And is it like Aquila pulled Apollos aside after he preached to people and. And corrected him because he wasn't. I think it's because he wasn't preaching like the full. The fullness of the Gospel.
Yeah.
Which is why the church of Ephesus did not know. And then Apollos left. But that's why Ephesus didn't know about the baptism in the Holy Spirit. So what we're taught is really important.
They had a Baptist teaching.
Yeah. Which is funny because it's baptism. Sorry.
Dalton said Colton hall prayed over me at the launching pad and told the Holy Spirit to give me the gift of tongues. And I started speaking in tongues and my legs were shaking. It was wild roasted.
Another thing I think is important is all these people. So the apostles laid their hand on these people or whoever. So Peter and John in Samaria, Peter with Cornelius and Paul with Ephesus. All those people spoke in tongues. Or you can infer all. Then there's one that doesn't say for sure. But if they were speaking in tongues, who were they ministering to? If they're just speaking foreign language of people like to hear, like, why are they. Peter and Paul were already saved and spoke in tongues. So if they were speaking in foreign languages too, was. Were they speaking in Hebrew? No, it says they were speaking in tongues. So that's another reason that I infer that they heard their own language and necessarily speak their language.
Yeah.
Either way, they were speaking in other tongues. So that wasn't just to minister to lost people or minister to people unsaved. Because you can see here in Ephesus, Paul places hands them. The Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke in tongues, bro.
It would be like if Paul. It's like. It would be like if we went to our prayer closet to pray in tongues just to go pray in a different language. What would be the point? Yeah, it's like, I'm gonna go pray an African right now.
Yeah. But I think that can be an example of like how it's. It's both stammering lips and can be a foreign language. It's one spirit and it just. He does different things.
Yeah.
You know, so those would be evidence for like, why, yes, on the day of Pentecost, they heard him that way, and that was to fulfill the prophecy in Isaiah 28. But in the other times, the tongues wasn't necessarily assigned to anybody. They just began to speak in tongues. It wasn't a sign to Paul. Like, Paul's the one that laid their hands on him. I'd say, Jordan, his question, if I've been asking for prophecy in tongues and have had hands laid on me, but they haven't come, what does that mean?
Means you're not saved.
Yeah, man, you just got to repent. No, don't do that. You're saved. Love you, Jordan. Um, Jordan, I would say that I've. What I've come to learn about you is that you and I are very similar. Very, very similar. You are a teacher as well, which is kind of cool. And you think the same as me, man, it was the most frustrating thing for a year. You can ask him. Like, I, like, cried over it sometimes. So I'm like, man, like, what's wrong with me?
Yeah.
And I really had to get to a place, and you've heard me. You've. You've been around me when I've talked about this. I had to get to a place where I'm like. It's really like a. A humility thing and a humbleness where I'm like, you know, this. What I've been feeling is exactly what God said. Actually, I think it's in First Corinthians 1 or 2 where he's like, I, like, frustrate the wisdom of the wise or frustrate the. Destroy the wisdom of the wise and frustrate the intelligence of the intelligent. I'm like, you know what? You really are frustrating my intelligence. And there is nothing wrong with you.
Nothing.
Because I went through the exact same thing. And you've seen how God has used it through me recently. And it's been, like, the coolest part of my testimony. And it's such a man. God's so good. It's so cool.
He's got the hot hand.
I do have a hot hand. So I would just encourage you that, man, like, you're not going to miss it. You're really not. Like, you can't. You can't miss. Literally. Where is it where God says, like, the. The gifts about desiring the gifts, earnestly seeking the one where it's. If your earthly fathers know how to good. Give good gifts.
Oh, yeah. I don't know.
Somebody in the chat.
Yeah, someone put it in the chat. But here, while they put that in the chat. Joe Turnbull. Good seeing you, man. Again, I like fire, too. Jordan. Her bro I remember being so pissed off, lividly pissed off, because I went to yfn, Youth for Youth for the nations when I was a young man, about 14, 15 years old, maybe 16. No. And. And I remember. I remember going. And they did the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And my brother got baptized and started speaking in tongues immediately, in an instance. And I felt like I got baptized, but for some reason, I wasn't speaking in tongues. And then I remember just being frustrated because I just wanted it. I wanted it. I wanted it, you know? And thinking back at it, I don't really understand why I liked I wanted it. I just knew that I wanted it. Like, there was this thing in my heart that desired it, which I think. And again, I don't know how scriptural this is, but I believe that that is a sign that tongues is a gift from God, is that there is a desire in all of us that if that is from God, I want it. Like, there's this natural desire of, like, dude, as soon as we know that that is from God through the Word and that it's available for us, there should be a natural desire to want it, right? That that triggers. On the inside of us. But more than anything, prophecy, like Paul said. But I wanted it so bad. And I remember, I. I just wasn't speaking in tongues then I remember I'm, like 17 years old, right? 17, 18 years old. So this was probably like two, three years later. And I remember, I don't want it for recognition. I want it to serve. Amen.
That was my heart, too. Praise the Lord.
And so I just wanted it. And I remember, I remember even so clearly, one day in the shower, just crying, telling God, like, I just want to be able to, like, do this so I can talk to you in a way that, like, nobody else can understand.
That's really crazy. So he said that. You said that. I remember praying that with somebody like, man, that's why I want to speak his language.
Yeah. Yeah. I want to speak my dad's language.
It's about to happen. That's cool.
Breakthrough is about to happen for you. And what ended up happening was I was serving at this church called Mundo de Fe, that means World of Faith in Spanish. In was the Spanish Church for Covenant Church in McKin. And I had just finished playing bass. Bass guitar. Because in Mexican service, bro, you throw down. It's hot now. Turn on the fan. Yeah, turn on the fan. I am getting hot. I got a hoodie. And I remember being so frustrated, bro. And I get down from this service and at this point, I'm not even thinking about it anymore. You just gotta. You know the remote control on there. Yeah. Hit one of the buttons that are around it. Just hit the high one. And so I remember all of the sudden I get to my chair and I still remember where I was sitting. I was sitting on the right side, about four rows back. And all of a sudden I'm sitting down, not even thinking about tongues. This isn't even like a thing in my head anymore at the time. Time. And then all of the sudden I just begin to feel this eruption in my stomach. It almost feels like I need to go puke. So I get up and I start running out of the service and I start heading to the restroom. And I don't make it to the restroom. I'm towards the lobby and I open my mouth and it just starts coming out. And all of a sudden I'm. I'm praying in the spirit. And so it was the most radical encounter that I've ever had. I wasn't seeking for it anymore. I wasn't begging for it anymore. I was just kind of doing life and enjoying life and enjoying the Lord. And then all of a sudden, it just came. So I say that to say, bro, that it's like, I don't want you to get frustrated. God knows your heart. God knows that you desire. God knows that you want it. God sees you little by little, like bringing your understanding to submission to what the word of God says. Right. And not trying to trump what the word of God says with your understanding or trying to figure everything out. God sees all of that, man. And I just believe 2026 is going to be your year, Jesus.
Yeah. And I will say, this is. This is the verse I was thinking about. And it's funny because I don't know if I ever. Luke 11:9 is like a popular verse, but I don't think people. I didn't realize that it was right before him talking about giving the Holy Spirit. So 11, 9. Luke 11:9. So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. So everyone who asks, receives. The one who seeks finds. And the one who knocks, the door will be open. Which of your fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, we'll give him a scorpion. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give? The Holy Spirit to those who ask.
Amen.
So, like, I would say just, man. Just like any other prayer. When you, like, put out a prayer request, like, Lord for provision or even, like, prayer of faith to receive salvation, it's like, man, you may not, like, see it, and, like, you don't see anything happen necessarily in the moment. Yeah, but we know that God answers prayers, so, yeah, I would just encourage you that, man, you've asked, you've. You're seeking, you're knocking, like, it's gonna happen. And God's. God's a good father, and he's going to give you the gift.
Such a good dad.
Praise the Lord.
All right. Any other questions? Isaac said, I was fearful tongues was going to overtake me as soon as I let go of the fear. That's when I prayed. That's when it happened for me. My mom prayed over me when I was six years old. That's sick, dude. I was six years old to receive it, but it took a month to let go of the fear, and then bubbled up, and then bubbling up came when I said, this is a gift. Nothing to be fearful of. Kayla said, which is Isaac's wife. Praise the Lord. Yes. I was raised Baptist, and it took me a while to deal with the fear and doubt before I truly received it, even though I wanted to receive it. Amen. It's just a journey for everyone. It's a process for everyone.
Dude, I had one. Where was it?
Man, it was great, y'. All. What a fun night.
I also. I think just, like, the last thing, and it was something I like. I think I sent it to you, but, oh, what is the scripture?
You know, you could just chat. GPT.
I had it before I lost it, but, man, I think something I. I listened to one time about from a man of God, he's like, tongues is not like a. A mark of pride. It's not this, like, badge that people wears that makes them more holy. It shouldn't be used as, like, oh, I speak in tongues and you don't. Because from the minute before to the minute after, I spoke in tongues. Like, I didn't do anything more righteous or more holy or anything like that. I just received something just like I received salvation. So I think people that wear it as, like, a badge, it really damages people and almost like this pretentious.
Yeah. Like, you can do that with any empathy thing.
Yeah, you really can. I feel like that really damages. But I also think, like, if you don't desire it, it's something that you really should Desire? Yeah, because it says you're. You're praying God's language. And, man, I just. It was a. Hold on. Let me get to it real quick.
That's why Michael said, frank, you prayed for me at a lp. And I was filled and moving in the spirit. But then when I got home and with my Baptist friends that don't believe in the spirit like this, I feel like I got scared, and now I can't figure out how to go back into the spirit. Bro, spirit's in you, man. What's happening is you just have. You just have fear blocking you. You got fear of man instead of fear of the Lord. That's all it is, man. I would just start praying and asking God to give you a fear of the Lord more than a fear of man. And then what that's going to require is boldness. Boldness. That's why. That's why God gives us. That's why it's so important to fear God more than man. Because boldness will make you do things that people would think is ridiculous. Just like. Just think about this practically for a second. Okay, y', all, there's. Everything about our faith is practical, but everything about our faith is so unpractical. So unpractical. Like the. The gift of healing, right? The working of miracles. There will be times when the spirit is on you and you're shouting at someone in a wheelchair, and if anyone just walked into the room and saw you, they'd be like, what are you doing? Right? Or you got Smith Wigglesworth, who punted a dead baby back to life. People would say, what are you doing? Or Smith Wigglesworth walked in into Jesus, bro.
Walk into a funeral and he rubbed mud in somebody's eyes.
Yeah, spit on that, too. He spit in the ground and then put mud on a dude's eyes. People are probably like, what the f. Is this guy doing right now? Right? You gotta have. You're going to have to have fear of the Lord over fear of man. And here's the thing. You can subject yourself to either one. And that's a daily thing. Tomorrow, forget tomorrow. Tonight you could go to sleep saying, father, put in me a healthy fear of the Lord. My desire is to serve you, not man. And what will happen, bro, is God will begin to give you downloads again for you to step out and release. Words over people. Words of knowledge, words of prophecy. Encourage people, preach the gospel, share your testimony. And the more that you do, as soon as you do that the first time, you're already walking in the Spirit, Right? So the spirit never left you, bro. The spirit is in you. It's kind of like when people say, like, I want to get closer to God, I'm like, God is literally on the inside of you. How much closer can that get? Do you want to understand God more? That makes more sense to me. Well, I just don't feel close to God. What does it matter? The Bible says that you walk by faith, not by sight. Right? So it's not what I sense, it's what the word of God says. Right. Like I was telling the guys in North Dakota, I'm like, you don't always feel anointed. It's not like 5:30 in the morning, going to speak at like, you know, 15 degrees outside. You don't feel naturally very anointed, but it doesn't matter. I know that I was anointed. Go preach that day. So just because you don't feel like you're in the spirit, bro, all it is is you're submitting yourself to the fear of man rather than submitting yourself to the fear of God. So if tonight you just decide to submit yourself to the fear of God, you're done. It's taken care of. You're already moving in it. Stop overthinking it. Forget the former things, strain towards what's ahead. Forget how you didn't do things yesterday, forget how you didn't do things the last week, and focus on what you're going to do right now, right now for God. And you're gonna be good, bro. Don't overthink it. Don't be so condemning on yourself, man.
Yeah. I think people move past, like, the weirdness of, like, oh, I received salvation by faith and I was made a new creation by faith.
Yeah.
And they're like, people are able to accept that because it's so commonly spoke about, but when it comes to other things like being anointed or speaking in tongues, it's like, oh, they think it has to be something different. I was like, well, that's the reason that, like, Nicodemus says, like, oh, I'd like, go back in my mother's womb.
Yeah.
And he's like, no, like, it's. It's. It's something. It's spiritual. Yeah. So we just have to have faith that when we spoke something like, it was done. And I would say another thing that I think is. Is cool about speaking in tongues is like, we believe. Like, I don't know everyone on here, but I believe. I know a lot of these people. I know they Believe it, too. That, like, we can. When we pray and we speak to cancer and we tell it to leave somebody's body and then they're healed. Like, we know the powers our words have. Then how much more power do we have when we're praying? The perfect will of God. God.
Amen.
So, like, what? Like. Like imagine, like, what's actually going on in the spirit when you're praying in tongues. And that's which.
Which I'm having a dude on my. On this show who was a church leader for Satan, and he's gone viral, and he literally did missions for Satan in the spiritual realm, and he talks about what he saw happen in the spiritual realm while he was serving Satan because people prayed in tongues.
That's crazy.
So you're gonna get the. You're gonna. You're gonna know what happens in the supernatural, because there was a guy who was in the supernatural watching it all happen as he was playing for the other team. So that's cool.
That's. That's really cool. Actually.
You can be here for that one, too.
Yeah, I'd love to. Trying to think. If there's anything else.
I think that you guys need to come back to our next MOG Live, where just going to be two hours of us teaching in tongues the entire time.
Yeah. No English.
No English.
I couldn't do that, actually. That's another point I wanted to make. The Bible says pray without ceasing. I can't do that in English. You run out of things. How many of y' all praying in English? And you're like, people pastors talk about praying for. He's not saved three hours. And I'm like, how are you praying in three hours? I've run out of words in English in, like, five minutes.
You just don't love God enough, apparently.
But man, praying without ceasing, I believe, is with tongues.
Yeah.
Because I'm. I'm not gonna lie. Like, I do it under my breath constantly.
Very true. It's very true. Because you just run out of stuff to say.
Yeah.
And you're human and.
And that's why it's like, I believe and. And guys will talk about this. When you pray in tongues, God will actually bring things. Your mind of people to pray about, things to pray for, just, like, random stuff. And you'll find. I literally found. Actually, this is a crazy story. I'm not going to do any names, but.
Darby said, frank, watching your Spanish lives makes me feel like that. Like, she's watching me teaching. See, I might be. You don't know. What if.
I'm sure he was praying in tongues.
I was just praying in tongues the whole time. But you heard Spanish.
I was in New Orleans with the saints in the indoor, and I was praying tongues under my breath while they were doing a walk through. And the Lord brought someone to my mind that I knew that I knew I'd been dealing with some demonic stuff. And, man, I, like, I'm, like, rolling out on, like, one of those, like, I don't know what you call them.
The foam roller.
Like a foam roller?
Yeah.
And I'm rolling out, so, like, my face towards the ground, and I'm crying into the turf on the ground, praying for this dude. And I remember being like, what the heck was that? Why did I just get so worked up out of nowhere? And it was really, like, the compassion of God.
Yeah.
For me to feel what he was going through and what his family was going through. And then I got a text a week later from my mom, and it was a screenshot of this conversation where the person that I prayed for was thinking about killing himself right when I. Wow. Was praying for him.
Wow.
And I was just like, holy crap.
Yeah. Holy crap is right. Oh, my gosh.
Like, what a humbling, like, moment of, like, first off, God has his back.
Yes.
Like, even though, like, he's going through something, God's like, I have a plan for him. But also, like, because I was praying in the spirit, God's like, I'm gonna use you to. To pray for him.
Amen. Think about that scripture where it says that he intercedes on our behalf. Dude, praying in the spirit is intercession, man. It's like intercession, and it's so true, bro. People will come to your mind when you're struggling with something and you're trying to figure it out. If you pray in the spirit, ideas will come to your mind, clarity will come to your mind. The next move that you got to make will come to your mind. There's just so much that. That's why it says where to go read in Scripture. Literally, just. It just. It guides you. It's so beautiful. It is such an incredible.
Actually, I was praying in tongues this morning, and I remembered my dream from the last night, and then I wrote it down, and I feel like God was, like, helping me, like, interpret.
That's cool.
Yeah, that's a completely different thing. That's cool. Did you know that all dreams are from God?
Yeah, you were telling me that.
It's crazy.
Amen. Amen. Well, y' all it looks like we've come to our segment. We've been on for an hour and 31 minutes, and that's everything you need to know about tongues. You don't have to go watch anybody else. You don't have to do any more research.
Sound doctrine. Perfect.
All of it was covered here tonight. I love you guys. This is so fun, bro. Thank you for doing this, man. We're gonna do a lot more stuff like this. I'm gonna be honest with you guys. I'm horrific at getting on an actual schedule, especially with, like, the traveling that's been going on. But I'm going to do my very best to start scheduling stuff. And I like night times like this because you guys are at home. And instead of getting on Netflix, you could hop on here, spend time with us, you know, grow. Spend time in the. Chat with your friends, talk some crap, you know, have some fun. And so I might do night times. I don't know yet. I've always hated early mornings anyways. It's just how I've been wired as a Mexican since I was a child. Like, you go to sleep at 6am that's when you go to sleep. That's not when you wake up, right? And so I've already done the early morning things. I'm kind of fed up with it. So we might end up doing night things like this. But, yeah, this is. This was incredible. I hope it blessed you. I hope the Holy Spirit ministered to you guys over there where you're at. I hope that your. Your mind was open to more of what the Bible says on this topic. There's so much more to cover. If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to ask, and we will do more of these lives. I mean, it's just incredible. It's just incredible to be able to do this. And also, I want to make sure that I do this, y'. All. I just released a new book. I like this one right here. I just released a new book. I released the audio version free first. And so you can go just scan that right now, and it'll take you directly to the audiobook. You can also listen to Real Prayer. This book, Watch your mouth. Is, I would say, the sequel to Real Prayer. So I know that when I release Real Prayer, I know that the expectation of a lot of men was that this was going to be a book that was going to teach you how to move in, like, signs, wonders, and miracles and. And moving the prophetic. And so this actually right here is the sequel to Real Prayer. Because before you can move in power, you got to actually have a relationship with God the Father. And you actually have to have a foundation in prayer of just intimate relationship. At least that's what I believe. I'm just teaching based off of my experience and. And what I know based out of the word. Right? And so this book, Watch your mouth. This right here is the power of words, faith and heaven's language. And so when I caught the revelations that I share with you inside of this book is when God started to do miraculous miracles through my prayers and completely started to change my life and change the experiences that I had. Is it incredible? Powerful. So much word in there, so much revelation. It's amazing. I hope you go check it out absolutely free, no strings attached. You don't got to put in your email, anything like that. Just scan that code and then you'll be able to listen to it for absolutely free. Craig Honorheim. When you coming to Canada, Frank? Bro, I don't invite myself anywhere, but if you invite me, I will mother flipping go, bro. And when I go, like, let's do some work. It'll be so much fun.
Who? It was cool getting to know you. Cage.
It was cool getting to know you.
It's a cooler name.
Yeah, his name's Cade. I don't know who Cage is, bro, but he sounds dope.
That's a dope name. Should we pray? I know we can't lay hands on people to the computer, but should we.
I want you guys to lay hands on yourself.
Yeah, just like touch yourself. Oh, that sounded weird. Lay hands on yourself. Sorry.
Yeah. Pray, bro, I would love for you to pray.
Yeah. God, we just thank you for today. Lord, I thank you for what your word says. I thank you that those who ask and seek and knock, Lord, that they will be answered. Lord, I thank you that you're a good father and you know how to give good gifts and just like our earthly fathers know how to get those gifts that you are even better than them and you will give us even better gifts like the Holy Spirit. So Lord, right now I ask that the Holy Spirit invades every room of every person that is listening right now and has listened to tonight. God, I just ask right now if they have been or they haven't been filled, that everyone gets a fresh feeling of your spirit. Lord, I thank you that even in acts it says that they were continuously filled. There is multiple times it says that they were filled and the building shook. Lord. Lord, I thank you for that kind of power. I thank you for resurrection, power found in your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I ask you to touch every single person and fill them from the top of their head to the bottoms of their feet. God, it says that rivers of living water will flow in and through them. Lord, I thank you. It says, even in acts, it says, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Lord, I thank you that you're pouring out your spirit. I ask you to. To fill those that haven't been felt and give a renewing, refreshing rest to those who already have been filled. God and Lord, I thank you that men and women are going to speak and to tongues. I think they're going to pray the perfect will of God. And I think even right now, some of you might be experiencing something and you're feeling like man, like that the enemy might be lying to you, saying that. Oh, that's not real tongues. That's not that you're making that up. No, the enemy said that to me too. I want you by faith to speak out of your mouth. What you feel, come out that it's going to bubble out of you and it might just be like a stuttering and one, one or two syllables, but over time will become a language. That's what it was for me. So, Lord, I thank you for that. In Jesus mighty name, Lord, that you fill them in Jesus name. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Incredible, y'. All. So by the morning, you should receive your snake. Make sure you allow it to bite you. If you don't die, you have the Holy Ghost. Love you guys. Buenas noches.
