Is ICICI AMC IPO Really Worth It? Honest Analysis for Investors

Don't buy ICICI Prudential AMC IPO Hype until you watch this. This IPO is entirely an offer for sale by ICICI's partner Prudential Corporation holdings which is selling only a part of its stake. ICICI bank is not selling any shares and will remain the majority promoter. Post Listing Business Model and Track Record the company is a 30 year old asset management company managing a wide range of equity debt and hybrid mutual fund schemes. It is the second largest AMC in India with an A exceeding 1 lakh crore backed by a proven track record ranking ahead of peers like HDFC AMC and Nippon AMC in terms of its market position, fair valuation and listing gain potential. The IPO is priced at a PE of approximately 36 at the upper band which is about 4 points lower than HDFC AMC and Nippon AMC. This relatively fair valuation increases the probability of listing gains. Investors should track the subscription rate and gray market premium to gauge potential gains coming to key concerns and risks. High Attrition Employee attrition rate is above 25% indicating possible internal challenges. Market linked revenue earnings are tied to AUM size making it sensitive to market cycles. Final Verdict this IPO presents a fundamentally strong business with a trusted brand and solid financials. However, high valuation, employee attrition and the pure OFS structure hamper the excitement for investors. Long term holders can consider applying for the strong business model and the market position. Short term traders should track gray market premium and subscription levels closely. Not a lot of excitement and also the past three IPOs which came from the ICICI brand be it like ICICI Prudential, ICICI Housing, ICICI Securities I have not given more listing gains.
