Ew. I had no idea that those innocent grocery store tea bags were dropping plastics into my nightly teacup. One thing that's definitely out for 2025 is microplastics, especially in our tea. A 2019 study showed that almost all grocery store tea bags come with a side of plastic, like billions of them. These microplastics can cause huge health concerns, but mostly I just don't want to be drinking plastic. If you love drinking tea too, don't worry because growing your own tea garden is definitely in. I've got chamomile rosema, ordinary lemon balm from my garden, but my new obsession is sage tea. All I do is cut from my plants regularly, hang them to dry and then place a few leaves in my teapot along with some dried flowers. It just takes a few minutes to steep and there's so much from each plant that I can drink a cup every single night to calm me down and help me sleep. So make 2025 the year you keep microplastics out and grow your own instead.
