Nicole Johnsey Burke presents a simple garden-planning system she calls the "2x3 method" as an alternative to traditional companion-planting charts. Plants are first divided by frost tolerance (frost-hating vs. frost-loving) and then by size classes (large, medium, small) plus herbs. During frost-prone periods you assign one plant from each size category plus an herb to each bed; when frost risk passes you repeat the bed assignments using the other frost-tolerance group. The video replaces chart-based companion planning with a repeatable, season-driven bed-assignment routine and points viewers to the caption for full details.
