Short video by Nicole Johnsey Burke showing a behind-the-scenes transformation of a grassy area into a vegetable garden. Steps described include removing grass where raised beds will go, assembling handmade cedar raised beds (tongue-and-groove), sealing with eco-friendly stain, placing gravel under beds, filling beds with soil in stages, adding Nicole Arch trellises, and preparing to plant in a few months.

I'm bringing you behind the scenes on how we turn this grass into a beautiful vegetable garden so you can do it too. We started by removing the grass in the exact spots where the raised beds would go. Stay tuned to see what we put there instead. Then we sorted the gardenary cedar beds into their unique pieces. These raised beds are handmade in the USA and have a tongue and groove system that allow the pieces to go together so easily. Even I can do it. Once assembled, we added these trim pieces with a drill. We sealed the beds with our eco friendly waste stain that helps these boards last for many years. They team put gravel under the raised beds to be sure that they last a very long time. We got the beds into place and put about one foot of soil inside each one. Then we added the Nicole Arch trellises so we can double our growing space and also create a magical walkway. We topped up the beds with another foot of soil and got ready to plant in just a few months. We returned to the garden to see this magical place where grass once stood. If you want to turn your grass into a garden this year, find out how to get started in the caption.
