Grow carrots from seed in cool weather, spacing them 2-3 inches apart. Water heavily for two weeks to germinate, then one inch per week. Thin seedlings at 2-3 inches tall, harvest after 60 days, and juice them with ginger and lemon.

Welcome back to another episode of Plants you can't kill. This time it's carrots. Carrots love growing in the cool parts of the year when there's still a chance of frost, so you can plant them right away. You need to plant these by seed directly in the garden. Either use a seed spacing ruler to spread them 2 to 3 inches apart, or just sprinkle the seeds throughout one garden bed. Keep these seeds well watered for two weeks and you'll get sprouts showing up really soon. From then on, be sure the seedlings get at least one inch of water a week, and then thin the seedlings when they're about 2 to 3 inches tall. Otherwise you'll end up with some tiny little carrots. Carrots. From then on, just be sure the carrots stay moist and in about 60 days, these little cuties are ready to be harvested. Pull them up from the tops and be sure to store them in a cool, dry place. My favorite way to enjoy homegrown carrots is to juice them. I add a little bit of ginger, lemon, water, and these beautiful carrots and yum. Do not miss growing carrots this year. I promise you won't kill them. Get seeds for free in the caption.
