YouTube gardening tutorial (Nicole Johnsey Burke) advising how to use fallen leaves when filling a new raised bed. The speaker warns against simply dumping loose leaves because uncompressed, dry leaf layers cause rapid soil level subsidence; instead she instructs to lay leaves in ~15 cm layers, compress and moisten each layer, repeat until ~20–25 cm of space remains, then top with a mix of topsoil, sand, and compost. The method reduces early-season sinking and was used successfully by the creator last autumn (see caption for more).
