Here's five perennials to plant once and harvest forever. Oregano. It starts small, but pretty soon you'll be making your pizza and pasta sauce and taco seasoning, too. Rosemary. You need to protect it over winter, but then you can make your own seasoning, shortbread and even barbecue skewers. Thyme grows great on the corner of your raised bed, and it is the best seasoning for any kind of roasted vegetable. Anise hyssop grows the most beautiful purple flowers that the bees love, and you can make your own organic tea. Same sage can grow in ground or in a raised bed, and you'll get tons of harvests every season to make your own tea and season the most delicious pasta dishes.
