All good things must come to an end. And that is true for part of my garden today. So I've got about 30 minutes taken down something that's been a staple all summer long. I woke up feeling that feeling, you know, when you're ready to move on, when you've had enough. That's how I feel right now. So let's go get to it. We got to put it into something together. So my garden just has that. That sad end of summer feel to it. You know, it needs. It needs just to shed a few layers and get the freshness back. So today we're going to try to do just that and get rid of all these drooping, huge vines. It's going to be a huge undertaking. I would have done it yesterday, but it poured all day long. And so I know these vines are going to be a little bit wet, which is going to be kind of messy. But, you know, some days you just gotta make a mess to get things nicer. All right, we're just gonna start by doing some cuts with my pruners. And I'm just going to cut the vines in a couple different places, so hopefully I can get them all out. Let me bring you in. So I grow tomatoes like this because I used to grow them in cages, and I grow indeterminate tomatoes, so vining tomatoes. And they would just literally collapse the tomato cage before even the middle of summer. So I realized I needed something for them to grow over over a long period of time. First I use, like, cattle panels and gave myself some really good cuts with those cattle panels. And then I started finding these, like, stronger arches that I could put in my clients gardens. And I loved the look and the sturdiness of them and how they would last for years. And so it just kind of became my thing. And then this funny thing happened. One time I ordered these custom arches for this huge garden I was doing, and they were like a. Like a special arch shape that matched her house. It was the mill this summer, and when they got there, it's wet. When they got there, they brought them to me, and it was just this shape, just a little normal, like, half circle. And it didn't match the house at all. I'm like, oh, this is not what we designed. So they took them back and brought me some new ones. And then about a month or two later, it was my birthday. I'm a Sagittarius November. And I called the guys and I was like, do you all still have those arches that you messed up with? And they're like, yeah, we do. And I was like, can I buy them? And they're like, sure. Like, they're ready to get rid of them anyway. So I gave them to myself as a birthday present that year. And then, you know, I would do all these videos and stuff for teaching people how to grow tomatoes. And people were like, we don't really want to talk about the tomatoes. We want to know where you got your trellis. So anyway, that's where. If you've ever seen me talk about the Nicole Arch, that's where it all originated. Is a huge mistake. Making progress. Look at this. All this vegetation. So much. All right, I might do a little haul out of this. See, that's one of mine. So many months. These things have been in the garden since April. April, May, June, July, August, September. How funny is this little. It's really embarrassing what happens by the end of the season, you know? This is my little snack. Okay, Me. Go on. Here it comes. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Think I got the whole. Can you believe all this grew from? I think it was four plants. Four plants. And these things are still going. Oh, my gosh. This is crazy. Crazy. Okay, so I'm gonna attempt to. To clean this up. This is pretty disgusting. I think if I can get everything onto the little stepping stone, I can get most of it into the composter. Okay. Later, I'm going to wash off the arches. You can see I got a little bit of plant debris on them. Let me show you. These are the tomatoes I'm going to grow next year. Is only this kind, this side. That size or bigger. No, smaller. I'm just done. Try to convince me otherwise, but I want that size or nothing at all. Oh, look, cucumbers. So I planted these beds up with the Easy garden Kit seeds in. I think it was July or August. Okay, we're gonna do a little experiment here in the back with this little tool. I don't know. We'll see what happens. But I'm gonna see if I can shorten the work up with using a little power tool. Probably won't work, but we'll see. Let's see if I can salvage these few tomatoes. I don't know. They're all. See, they're almost all like that. They're just kind of gross. This is beautiful. And then you see that. You know what I mean? Maybe I didn't want to kill the big tomatoes. You can see the difference in the light, Right? So same time planting, but look how different the growth is. Can't believe this. Okay, that One was faster. I don't know if it was because of the power tools or just because there was just a lot less. So I've got a ton of peppers that I have to harvest soon, but for today, we did the dirty work. So we gotta clean these off, blow this out and clean off the trellises, and then we'll put. I might do a little experiment and see if I could do cucumbers and some. And peas and others and see how they do. Because it's September, beginning of September here, I've got at least two months until frost. So a lot of you always ask where to get these CH Trellises, and we sell them in the shop. The problem this year is we haven't been able to keep them in stock. We had they sold out in, like, April, and then we just got them back in stock, but then they're sold out again. So I don't know. Whenever you're watching this, we have several hundred that are on their way to the US So I'm hoping that soon they'll be there. But you can go. I'll put a little link below if you want to see the trellises and get on the wait list or whatever, if you want. Anyway, I'm very sorry that they're so hard to get. It's not when my business. When our business is in a new place, hopefully we'll be able to get more in inventory so that that doesn't happen anymore. They're in the shop, but you'll have to get on a little wait list until we get them back in stock. All right. Thanks so much for coming along and helping me say goodbye to summer, hello to fall. And, you know, there's still so much to do out here to get ready for fall, but you just take it one task at a time. What do they say? Like, how do you eat an elephant? I don't know why they say that, because who wants to eat an elephant? But, you know, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you get ready for the fall in your garden? One task at a time? So today we got these trellises cleaned up, which is great. Feels so good. Honestly, I've been dreading it, but it only took about 30 minutes and I only lost my dogs, like five times, so that's pretty good. I've got a whole series on how to grow tomatoes on an arch trellis, if you want to watch that. And my Easy Garden kit is the best way to start gardening. And you can find a link to that right below this video. If you want to watch the whole series on growing tomatoes on Arch Trellis, I'll link that right here. Thanks so much for being here for being part of Gardenary. Let me know what you think about these kinds of videos. Do you want me to make more or less or the same amount? Have a great day, keep growing and thanks for being part of Gardenary. Bye.
