Fish disease case nr. 138 Yaoshania Panda loach with ICH or White Spot disease

Gerald Bassleer diagnoses white spot disease in a panda loach using microscopic observation. The video shows how to identify ICH under magnification and walks through treatment options for this common aquarium infection.

Hello dear aquarist, welcome to my YouTube presentation on fish disease cases and today 138 and that will be an interesting one. It's about a panda loach. A panda loach which is a kind of new aquarium fish in our hobby. A very pretty fish has a difficult name to pronounce. Yoshania, Blacky Helus. So I show you my presentation and the videos how I did see this sick fish. How did I find my findings in the microscopic observation. So I share you my screen and my PowerPoint that I prepared for you. So this pendaloat had a ick or white spot infection and the bacterial infection maybe secondary. So watch it and see what I found because the fish looked only very skinny and we could see nothing with the naked eye. Can you see white spots? Well, maybe you have better eyes than I do and maybe a little bit older than you are. With my nearly 69 years I might miss the white spots. But to be honest, I saw only those skinny fish and some were dying. Not so many were dying, but once in a while they were dying. And look how skinny they are. They were not eating well, they were suffering from something. Look at this one, another skinny one. Do you see the white spots? Well I couldn't see the white spots at all. I couldn't see them. So that's why I needed a microscope and take a skin scraping. And look what we found. Look, big white spots. And here a smaller one here more white spots on the scales. The normal ichthy of theories Multiphilius or the real well known white spot infection on the scales of this fish. And here we see on the video also some younger white spots, juvenile stages here much younger. This is the beginning stage when the reproduce. And here is already a stage which is getting bigger. Just to show you the different stages of white spots we could see on this ya bundle load. So this has been going on for a while and at the same time the fish had a bad liver, an empty gut while empty gut while he was not eating, he was suffering from the disease and not being happy and then maybe having secondary bacterial infections. So what can you do this kind of fish? Well, you found the disease white spot so you can obtain a good anti egg medication. And many good ones are available in the aquarium shop. For instance like Fauna Moor from Aquariumenster which is a very well known and old medicine that works very well and very safe for your fish. Important that you follow the instructions and the leaflet and the brochure attached with the medication because to control the infection you must follow different steps of medication. That's important to remember. Explain a little bit later on. And you can help these pantalogists with our functional fish food. Dr. Basbier Biofish food Matrim that helps in the control of this kind of infection for the repair of the fish. And that's why we implement this food, Dr. Basili Biver's food Matrine together with Farnamore. This combined treatment makes it possible for the fish to survive an infection and to prevent reinfection. Because the matterene helps the skin to protect against the parasite. And at the same time because of the cycle of the parasite, you can use a medication which kills the babies, the babies who are reproducing and reinfecting the fish. You cannot kill on the skin. You only can prepare the skin that it's not liked by the parasite so it doesn't reinfect or drops off. You can eliminate the drop off parasites by siphoning the water using a good UV filtration. UV UV lamp that kills also the babies. But that's good for recirculating systems. When you have a central filter, you can install a good filter with a small micro filter smaller than 300 mu, leaving the lights on 24 hours. Because the parasite light spot does not reproduce when the lights are on. It only reproduces at night during dark. So I explained this, you can see that on my website. Also I explain this kind of way of treating. Particularly when you have a big central system, you have a serious incidence. This is the kind of approach you can use in treating the white spot disease. I have also specific videos of white spot disease in my YouTube channel. So you can look it up for white spot. I have it in four languages for you available so you can learn about how to handle white spot disease with this Dr. Basler anti ick method. So also in the books I explain a lot about what spot infectious and what you can do about it. We have the books in different languages and you can learn more at my Patreon so you can become a more professional. So I hope this little case of fish disease which is a well known parasite but we couldn't see with the eyes, teach us a lesson how we as humans should learn to use a tool like a microscope. Thank you for watching.
