Fish disease case nr. 190 Apistogramma cacatuoides, Cichlid with bad organs: bacteria Mycobacterium

Gerald Bassleer examines a dwarf cichlid with damaged gills and tubercles in its spleen, liver, and kidneys, pointing to Mycobacterium as the likely culprit. Fish tuberculosis offers few antibiotic options, so severely affected fish should be euthanized humanely.

Hello, dear aquarist, look at all the aquarium in the back where many fish are kept alive and in good condition because of good care. That's what I try to teach you. And today I will teach you about Apistogramma cactoides, a dwarf cichlids. And I may be wrong, but it's highly unlikely. So watch my PowerPoint presentation that I share with you so you learn something that can help you to understand how to tackle the fish diseases. Apistogramma, dwarf cichlids, which has tubercles in the organs. This is my case 190. You can find a lot of details on phage diseases aimed by books with a lot of details on how to treat and how to prevent. Cut the link below so you can find some valuable material. And here you see some of the apistogramma. Some look very good, but some are wasting away and they're getting dark, weak, and some die. And generally some look good, but you have to understand when a few show these kind of darkening and bad coloration and weakening and wasting away, there's something going on. In all the fish. We found damaged gills. You can see here that tissue is. Is gone. So the fish will have respiratory problems. We found internally in the organs, all tubercles. Look at here, all the tubercles here and here. Here we see some part of the spleen. We go more in detail here. More tubercles in other parts of the organs in the liver. See how many there are here. And also here in the kidneys, damaged kidneys, lot of tubercles. That means the organs will fail, not working well. And usually those tubercles and well, it's causing a lot of weakening of the fish. And that maybe can cause the damage of the gills and the organs. And that might be caused by mycobacterium. Yes. Again, one of my videos about mycobacterium fish tuberculosis. Why? Because it's common in older fish and in certain fish strains. And I usually get these kind of fish for me to diagnose because it's something that's not easy to detect. And. And it's the fish which are left over to be examined by the fish doctor because it's not white spot, which is easily cured, or gill flukes, which is easily cured and detected. But confirming fish tuberculosis or mycobacturing is best to be done in a laboratory because the laboratory can really define this problem. The fish that are seriously infected with badly damaged organs will not survive. You're better to utilize them, put them gently asleep. You can use for that product like Narcomore plus from Macquarie Munser. This is one of those products or clove oil which is available in regular shops. A treatment with antibiotics could help some of the fish which are not badly infected, so ask your veterinarian or your fish doctor or get some advice from my books. Antibiotics are not commonly available so you better be careful how to use and ask some good advice at the same time. You can help your fish with a functional fish food as long as they're eating. And we recommend Dr. Basler by Fish Food Fuko so I hope this info helps you More details you find in my books on fish diseases or you can get the training on my Patreon. So this kind of information on this dwarf circuit can help you, but I may be wrong, but it's highly unlikely. Thank you for watching.
