YouTube case study (video) by Gerald Bassleer presenting fish disease case #272: a Gastromyzon (Gastromyzon viriosus) showing heavy bacterial skin coverage and parasitic flagellates (identified as Cryptobia). The presenter describes clinical signs (fin clamping, emaciation, mortality), microscopic observations of bacteria and fast-moving flagellates, and recommends simultaneous treatment for both bacterial infection and Cryptobia using combinations such as formalin + malachite green plus antibacterial agents; supportive functional feed (Dr. Bassleer biofish food with aloe vera) and consulting a vet or pet shop are advised. Resources and books by the presenter are promoted for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.

Hello, dear aquarist, Today you selected a video about a gastro meson, a gastro meson with a parasitic infection with the parasites cryptobia and a bacterial infection. And I share you my PowerPoints, my findings that I collected during my examination of this particular fish, in this case 272 diseases on fishes, prevention, treatment, diagnosis is all available in my books that are available in different languages.
The link is below where you can order them.
Here you see the Gastromycin virionis.
You can see they're a little bit nervous.
They're clamping the fins. Some become very skinny and some are dying. And we collected some scrapings and we could see a lot of bacteria, all the black spots here and the black areas covering the scales. But you also can see here a few tiny bugs or parasites, flagellates that move around in the water. Here we can see another observation, more detailed of the quantity of bacteria. And once in a while you see a small flagellate flashing by, moving quickly. But you can see here the millions of tiny black spots. That's the massive bacteria that's covering the skin of this gastro meson. Here we have more close up detail of the parasites. You can see them here next to the air bubbles. You can see more here moving around. And those are the spots where the parasites can have an impact on the skin that is already covered with a lot of bacteria. So we go here more in detail. On the higher magnification you can see all those tiny flagellates moving, very nervous quickly. A different behavior than Kostia or Ichthyoboda parasites. Those are cryptobia parasites. So this is the kind of observation.
That teaches you a lesson.
The gastromism, the treatments. Well, I would recommend the treatment to control the bacterial infection and the parasitic infection cryptobia.
At the same time.
The longer you wait, the worse the.
Damage will be and it will be.
More difficult to cure the fish.
Ask your pet shop or the fish doctor or your vet for a good medication.
There are some good medications available in.
The market, like the combinations of formalinum malachite green against the cryptobia. There's a lot of good antibacterial medications available. You also can find these details in my books. You can help with a functional fish food that helps the repair of the fish. And in this case we could recommend the use of Dr. Basler biofish food, Aloe vera or Forte. My books on face diseases helps you to understand the diagnosis, the prevention and the control with medications and details how to use medications. Or you can learn more at my Patreon and get the training on fish doctoring. So I hope this video helped you to understand this parasitic infection, critobia and a bacterial infection on gastromism.
