Fish disease case nr. 356 Corydoras panda with bacterial and parasitic Chilodonella infection

Gerald Bassleer examines a Corydoras panda with Chilodonella parasites eating away its fins and a bacterial infection in the liver. He found a nematode worm inside the organ, likely from contaminated food, and recommends combined antibacterial and antiparasitic treatment plus immune support.

Hello, dear Aquarist, dear fish keeper, welcome again to one of my videos on a case of fish diseases. A diseased fish that I examined during my work as a fish doctor. And you selected this one because you're interested to learn about a diseased corydoras. Today, a Corydora Panda with head, tail, rods. And I Show you my PowerPoint and my videos so you can understand what fish diseases look like and what we can find. And this Corydora panda had a bacterial and a parasitic infection. See my books on fish diseases. They help you to understand how to diagnose, how to recognize fish diseases. Why do the fish become sick? How can I prevent? And also all the kind of medications that can help to make your fish healthy again. The link is below, where you can order them. Here are the damaged corydoras. You can see the damaged tails of the corydoras in this aquarium. You can see they are suffering. They become skinny. And we took some tails, some fin tissue. And we found also parasites in the damaged tails. Parasites called Shiloh Donella. And those parasites cause even more serious damage. Look, they are scraping and they are eating on the tail or the fins of the fish or the body. And that is causing more serious damage. We also found internally a bad liver which was damaged and had an invasion of high quantities of bacteria. And we found internally a little worm in the liver. You can see it moving a small nematode. And that nematode also weakens the fish. Weaken damages the organ. So somewhere this worm came from, most likely from fish food into the or from other fish which are infected with this worm. And the fish have eaten eggs from this worm. So the Corydora Panda with the bad tails we examined. So we diagnose bacteria and parasites. Maybe the Chyle donella was secondary because the parasite likes to sit on damaged tissue here with parasite Schleredonella. So I would recommend to combine an antibacterial and an antiparasitic medication. The worm infection wild. Check the food supply, maybe check the other fish in the aquarium. Check the fish quality in the coming weeks of this corydora to see if you have to decide to do an anti worm treatment. But first, treatment the bacteria and the Chylodonella parasites. You can ask for medications at your pet shop or a veterinarian. At the same time, you can help with a functional fish food to improve the immunity of the fish and to repair the fish. I can recommend in this case, Dr. Basler Bai Fish Food Forte my books, if you don't have yet, try to get. They are available in different languages so you understand better fish diseases. Maybe you want to become more professional, learn more. I have different courses and training program at my fish doctoring at my Patreon channel. Of course my books also helpful. But my Patreon channel can be very helpful for you. So a fish disease of a Corydora panda taking a microscope explained why the fish were suffering and dying from and knew how to mitigate because I learned from the microscope what was affecting the fish. Thank you for watching and subscribe to continue to learn more. Thank you for watching.
