Foreign. I had many videos on fish diseases and cases on freshwater fish. But today it's going to be about the marine fish. A case that was presented by a fish hobbyist. And I will share my screen with you so I can show you what videos and other material I can share with you. It was a clownfish that was suffering with patches and damaged fins. And the hobbyist was of course concerned what will happen on the fish. So we examined the case and it didn't look nice. You know, you saw some damaged fins, you saw the patches on the clownfish. It was hiding in the anemone and was no clear obvious parasite. We could observe like white spots. It was all just slimy patches on that fish. So as you can see here. And even they had some, some like bubbles here coming on on the fish. See, that's also underneath the slime. Yes. What could that be here? The same clownfish. You can see it's not a good shape. It seems like the skin or the slime was. Was damaged somewhere. And also there was like a bubble or a cloudy eye. So also the eye seems to have been damaged in a. By certain symptom, could be maybe an air bubble that has been developing on that clownfish. Well, we examined the materials that were available in that aquarium and the first thing we noticed that there was a small filter. The filter was rather small, it was working well. And there were some questions if there was air also sucking in. And we also asked if the hobbyist how he was handling his filtering material and what he did. He cleaned it every two weeks with tap water very thoroughly, very neatly, very well cleaned, but too badly cleaned, I would say badly, because he also destroyed the good bacteria, the good bacteria which are needed for the biofiltration, for or decomposing the ammonia, the nitrite, and then developing, of course in the nitrates. But the hobbyist was doing quite often water changes. Yes, that was luckily he was doing that to overcome a high nitrate level. But cleaning with tap water, no way. You only can clean that biofilter, that material from a marine tank, with marine water, the same kind of water, because you will kill or shock the bacteria which are so important in the best care for your good filtration system. And also the material was very small. You can see this punch, it was a 60 liters tank, still much too small for this kind of tank. So after putting out some questions and discussions with you, I recommended to install a larger filter with more bio filter material and only clean the filter material with marine water during the water changes. Of course, he's doing properly. Water changes. And at the same time, you can use that water to clean the filter material. Check for leaking tube. That means that there might be excessive air introduced to the aquarium and causing some small air bubbles on the fish. There were also, you can see on the top of the aquarium. Well, maybe the picture is not that big, but there was a lot of air bubbles on the surface of that fish tank. He was feeding. The customer was feeding a lot of frozen food. And that is also a risk of introducing bad bacteria. And that bad bacteria can have an impact of the intestine on the microbiome. So that the intestine is not working properly. While we know that the gut or the intestine is an important part of the immune system. And if that is somewhere affected by too many bad bacteria, you have like a leaking gut and a risk of having diseases popping up. We recommended to feed during at least 10 days before Dr. Besler buys his food forte to regain the strength of the fish, to improve the immune system. Because the forte contained Probiotica, the bacteria Pediacoccus, which are needed for a good digestive system. And we had the prebiotica, which are the yeast extracts, which are very helpful in developing a good microbiome in the culture. So. So this is a part of a special cage I got as a marine fish, since I don't work that often in the marine fish section. Still, I have once in a while some cases and I try to present them to you in the future to please the marine aquarium hobbyist. Although I must say, many diseases freshwater marine are similar. The same kind of, how can I say diseases we find back the treatments can be different. And that's I explained in my books on face diseases. So keep yourself informed and stay tuned and continue to listen to my Patreon channel to make you continue to make you happy in solving the cases. Okay, thank you for sharing.
