Hello, my name is Gerald Basleer. I'm a fish peto biologist, 66 years old. I'm living in Belgium and I'm working in the ornamental aquatic fish industry since 1977, so more than 43 years and practicing fish health, treating, management research in the ornamental fish industry. I graduated as master in zoology biology at University of Antwerp in 1977. And I started working at an ornamental fish wholesaler importer in Antwerp in Belgium, akoria, Antwerp in 1977. Just after my studies as a zoologist. I specialized in behavior of animals etology, also behavior of fish, specifically on cichlids. And during my first years of work in the ornamental industry, I started studying more and more on fish pathology at different universities with different specialists. For instance, I studied with Dr. Schubert at the University of Germany. I studied in Stirling by Dr. Roberts on diseases on trout and salmon. I studied by Dr. Jack Greczek in Georgia at University of Georgia fish disease training course. And then I got my postgraduate degree of fish pathology at University of Maracai near Caracas in Venezuela. By David Conroy, one of the big specialists in 19791980 on training veterinarians and biologists on ornamental fish disease. So I've been practicing practical theory on fish diseases and therefore I worked in countries in Belgium, I worked four years in America, four years in Germany, six years in the Netherlands. And I have now my own company in Belgium since 1995, where I give consulting to the ornamental fish industry. I give training to pet shops, to the veterinarians, to biologists, to the ornamental fish industry. We therefore also produce a specific food or Dr. Basler biofish food, which is a specific food which helps the fish to prevent diseases, to stay healthy, a specific food to avoid using medications. And at the same time I published several books on fish diseases, freshwater and on marine fish. Also I had a big atlas on fish diseases for the people in Brazil. We also have a Portuguese book available. This book is available by Ipiranga Basis in Sao Paulo, distributed for the pet shops and the fish biologists. All my work is as a biologist. I'm not a veterinarian, but as a biologist I learned the biology of the aquarium and the problems. And my tool I use in my life is my microscope. Without this, very difficult to do a correct diagnosis of fish. So I hope my advice and training will help you to advance in keeping fish in a healthy way. Thank you.
