Help! My fish are dying! What happened? What did I do wrong? Wrong diagnosis or wrong treatment?

Gerald Bassleer shows why aquarium fish die, often from misdiagnosed diseases. Goldfish, discus, and ramirezi fish were treated for parasites or fungus when the real problem was ammonia poisoning or viral infection. Check water quality and examine feces before medicating, and follow dosing instructions exactly, because wrong treatment kills faster than the disease.

Help. My fish is dying. Yes, I received quite often this question that for help fish are hanging at the surface. What shall I do? What's happening? Or my discus? Look how bad it looks. What shall I do? Did your fish die also? Did you make errors, mistakes when treating your fish? Well, I hope I can help you with this video to explain what might have gone wrong. Because fish can suffer. Yes, they can get sick. But look at this goldfish. Do you know what the cause of this problem is with the fish? Does it have a disease or might have had toxic poisoning of ammonia? That's what happened here. Did you make also these mistakes with treatments that means not a correct diagnosis? You did not know which disease is damaging the fish? Yes. Well, you might not know. You might guess about the disease and then there is a risk of applying a wrong treatment. Or you are overdosing the medicine, or you treating much too long, or you did not apply enough medication or too short period, or you did not read the leaflet, not checking how to administer the medicine. Did you overlook the real cause? Are you treating the fish while the stress, the water quality, the food quality, the dirty filter, etc. Is still not solved? Well, I tried to explain that in my books with details about all the different causes and how to apply correctly treatments with what dosages and time how to treat. Because wrong diagnosis is easily dumb. Yes, because you think these are white spots? No, they are little worm infectious. You think this is fungus on this ramirezi? No, this is a parasitic infection. Do you think this is ick? No, this is a viral infection, Lymphocystis. Do you think this is a bacterial infection on this Morpheus? No, it is a parasitic infection. Yes. We can make really wrong diagnosis. Like on discus, the excrements are white strings hanging out here on this discus and everybody thinks, well, this is para nucleus hexameter? No, it can be, but it's not always. How do you know? Well, you take an examination of the excrements and that will tell you what's going on. So what happens when you apply a wrong medication? Well, you're not treating the real disease because she had a wrong diagnosis. You give extra stress to the fish because the medicine, the wrong medicine becomes a kind of toxic product or a poison for the fish. And it is usually a risk of acceleration of the not correctly diagnosed disease. The fish gets weaker and dies. And the hobbyists usually claim that the medication is bad because it killed the fish. But who did take the wrong action solution? Well, this is obvious to a correct diagnosis. Wrong diagnosis yes, but wrong dosage, wrong application, not following the instructions of the leaflet. Some people use double or triple dose. It's very common in the discus world and think it will be working much better or faster. It is the contrary, the medication will not be effective. Some medication needs scheduled retreatment like for egg or guilt flukes. Follow the instructions of the medicine. Sometimes the filter must be turned off, the charcoal must be removed. Solution well, read the brochure, read the leaflet of the medicine, follow the user instructions, the prescription. So simple as that. Or did you maybe overlook simple solutions? Did you test and check the water quality and your fish were starting to behave badly or getting sick? Did you check the condition of your filter? Did you do a proper water change recently? Is there maybe aggression or overcrowding? Did you give bad or contaminated fish food? Did you overfeed the fish causing obesity and weakening the fish? Is the food still in good quality? Is it not expired? Or did it became wet or full of bacteria or even fungus? Maybe you have other experience you can share. So check before treatment and handle correctly. Because not solving the origin of the problem will give a bad impact on your treatments. Like here, the stress on this fish by an excessive water flow is causing fin damage. So just putting in a medication against fin rot will not help. But it didn't solve the excessive water flow, stress and damage on this marine fish because there are too many, too many mixes, Overcrowding, not proper feeding that will cause weakening the fish gives risk of diseases. Of course, so simple as that. So as you know, the factors of causing disease is that a fish has an immune system, he can defend himself. But when the food is bad, the water is bad, the stress is bad, is terrible. And there are patagons. Always a risk that patagons are available at that moment the fish immune system can collapse and the patagons can become or create an infection. So try to look for the real cause instead of posting something on the wall or on social media. Help. My. My fish are dying. I lost my dog. Where is my dog? So always ask yourself, did I make a good examination of the fish, of the water, of the food, did I read instructions of the medication, etc. Many details of that is available in my books. You should try to get subscribe to my videos of diseases and advice for treatments. But first of all try to perform a correct diagnosis. So I hope this teach you a little lesson. What can happen, what you can learn when your fish die. And you can learn for your wrong actions from your mistakes. Yes, we are human we can make mistakes, but learn from it. And I hope this video also teach you a lesson. Thank you for watching.
