Sort that out. Hello everyone, welcome to another event of the HubSpot Admins Hug. Uh, this is a weekly user group for HubSpot admins and other power users. Uh, we're here every Tuesday at this time. Typically going deep into one part of the HubSpot product. If you have not seen this page, uh, please check it out, bookmark it, love it. This is your source of truth for our upcoming events. And you are here today, we are talking about campaigns. Delighted to have multiple members of the product team here to give you a deep look into that, that part of HubSpot. Next week we have a session called What It Means to Be an Admin, and we're going to be looking at some, some data around hiring and salaries and those kinds of things help you in your professional journey as an admin. And then looking farther out, we've got quite a few sessions related to commerce stuff, payment links, Commerce Hub, contracts. We have a session about agents, we have some attribution reporting, and we will be filling out this calendar more in the, in the coming weeks. So keep an eye on this. Again, we're here every Tuesday. I'm Kyle, I'm an evangelist at HubSpot Academy. Deanna is the other host of this And, uh, we're, we're working together to, to get you the, the information you need to be a good HubSpot admin. Um, one note, I would love to hear in the chat, uh, May 19th is currently open. If there are any requests or dedications you would love, uh, to the product, the things in HubSpot you would like to hear about, uh, I bet I can get it to happen for you. So just drop that in the chat and I'll go to work on it. That is what's in the future. We also have a YouTube channel. Today's session will be recorded and posted here. Our sessions typically are. So if you ever wanna watch one of our past sessions or rewatch it or share it with a friend, YouTube is the place to do that. We are getting very close to being able to have another show and tell. We just need one or two more presenters. This is something we do every so often. Anytime you build something in HubSpot you're really proud of, solve a problem, create a workaround, achieve a goal, discover a feature you didn't know existed, discover how two features work together, whatever it may be, fill out this form and let us know. I think peer-to-peer learning is some of the most powerful learning for admins, and so anytime we have 4 or 5 people who have submitted this form, we, uh, we put together an event and we, uh, we let you learn from each other. So tell us what you built in HubSpot, and we will be in touch to let you share with the group. We have a space on community.hubspot.com. It's great. We are very active on LinkedIn. Deanna and I both are here on a daily basis. We have a group for the Admin Hug. We have a handle for it. You're welcome to connect with me and Deanna directly. Would love for you to connect with each other. LinkedIn is turning out to be a pretty great place to share HubSpot insights and to learn from one another. So be sure to join the party. It's great. HubSpot Academy boot camps are probably all closed, and I don't know why I keep this tab open. If you have ideas for a HUG, again, go ahead and drop it in the chat, or connect with me and Deanna directly and let us know. But we do have this form if you would prefer to submit a form. Let us know if there are topics you would like covered or speakers you would like to hear from. We wanna make this as relevant and helpful to you as possible, and your input is the thing that helps us do that. That's enough for me. We do have this resource page where all the links I just mentioned and several others are available. So check this out and yeah, you'll be good to go. With that, let's hand it over to Derek and Naomi who are going to talk about campaigns.
Sounds good. Thank you, Kyle and Dana. I'll do a quick intro. Naomi, I'll hand it over to you to do a quick intro and then I guess we can kick things off. Hey everybody, my name is Derek. I'm one of the product managers on the Campaigns group here at HubSpot. I've been, been at HubSpot for about 7 years and yeah, excited to be here today and represent some of the awesome work that's happened across the group in Q1 and share some updates. So I'll dive into it, but I'll hand it over to Naomi first to do a quick intro.
Cool, thanks Derek. I'm Naomi. I've been at HubSpot for just over a year now actually. And yeah, most of my time at HubSpot has been spent on Marketing Studio. So I'll give you a quick sneak peek of that later. And now, yeah, working alongside everyone on Marketing Studio and, and campaigns as well.
Cool, cool. Thanks for that. So I will jump into things, and I guess I wanted to preface this just by sharing that, like, the updates that I'm going to share here today are not specific to Marketing Studio. Everything that I'm going to demo here today is available to users who use Marketing Studio and also the existing campaigns app as well. I want to just put that out in front. So in terms of what I want to talk about today is I want to talk about like campaign completeness. So throughout like Q1, I think like since the start of the year, all the teams across campaigns, we've been busy looking through some of like the existing feedback, finding some of the existing like pain points across the campaigns tool and like making sure that those were like addressed and we're in like a good place as we then start to think about some of these future bets like Marketing Studio. We wanted to make sure that Campaigns app itself was in a really solid place. So what I wanted to share today is some of the really, some of the really interesting updates that we've dropped in Q1. And you may have seen some of these already at Spring Spotlight in the last week or two. Like, what I'm pleased to say is like all of these features that I'm going to share today are live or either in public beta. And I will give some information as I talk about each of these features of the state they're in and like what's next with some of these, because it's certainly not done. There's still more to come with some of this stuff as well. And as I said, these features are available forā if youā whether you use Marketing Studio or the existing Campaigns app, you can access any of these features today. So the first one I want to talk about is campaigns connected to CRM impact. So what does that mean? So essentially, like, why this matters is what we know is in terms of like what you can use the Campaigns app for today, like not all marketing activity is happening digitally. Like, there isā like, to accurately, accurately be able to, like, measure the impact of campaigns and ROI, there's, like, offline things that are important channels to marketers as well, um, like trade shows or meetings or events. And historically, it's been really difficult with the HubSpot Campaigns tool to actually be able to bring in some of those data points from your CRM. You may have, like, contacts that you've met at a trade show, you may have, you know, like deals that have been like created from some of those like offline events. And there's no way to like easily connect and bring that back into your campaign. So there's missing data points within the campaign. And it makes then when it comes to reporting, you're missing data points, it's really hard to get that full picture. So what we have introduced in Q1 is a list of a number of new associations that you can make to your campaign object. So what you can do now is you can directly associate contacts, deals, tickets, all of these objects you can directly associate to your campaigns inside of HubSpot. And this works like across the HubSpot platform. You can plug this in and you can access these. I'm, I'm going to jump over and do a quick demo now of how all this works, but to call out, like, this will show up on the contact records the deal records. You can use it inside workflows, reports, lists. It'sā these updates like exist across the entire HubSpot platform. Campaigns also exists now in the Data Model Builder, which is quite cool, and we can dig into that as well. But why this is important is like marketers no longer then needā like say for example, if you had a trade show and you had a list of contacts that had been met at the trade show, Beforehand, maybe you needed to like put all those contacts into a list, like, like import the list into HubSpot, then associate the list to the campaign just in order to have them all marked as influence. Like a lot of additional manual steps, whereas now you can just directly like associate all these different records to the campaign, have everything in one place so the campaign can really store all this import, all these important touch points across the campaign and make then the reporting experience a lot better as well. Um, yeah, so let's jump in and I can give a quick demo of how this all works. So let's jump over to the Campaigns app here. Um, I think actually what might be a good place to start is let's go to a contact record. So I'm going to just open up one of my contact records here, and what you'll see over on the right-hand side is this new Campaigns card. So this works and functions exactly the same as some the other record associations that you can use in HubSpot. You can see the company and deal ones. It works the exact same way. What's quite nice is this will capture all your historical data. So if in the past, like, contacts have been marked as influenced by campaigns, even without you having to set anything up here, all those will show up on the record. So really easy to see at a glance, like, when I'm just looking at this contact who, like, like, I can really clearly understand, like, what are the different campaigns that they've been, like, influenced by, like, get that, that information at a really nice kind of high-level altitude. And then additionally, with this update, you can directly, as we said, manually associate campaigns to the contact. So you'll see there, I just have this sidebar that will open up. I can pick any of the campaigns, like, similar to how it works for other associations. And we've also, like, introduced this new influence type field. So this works as like an association label. So if you want to get more specific and you have like different influence types that you want to call out, you can create them and tie them back to the campaign as well. And that's how it works for contacts. It's very much the same, same case for deals as well. If I just jump into a deal record here, I can see the card again. And again, this is one has been attributed already to the campaign, so without me touching anything, I can see that here. And again, I can just, I can quickly jump in, select the campaigns I want to associate to this deal, and they will just show up there. The same functionality as you would expect exists in the Campaigns app as well. So if I wanted to go this route and I'm in my campaign and I go to Add Assets, under the CRM, I will see now manually associated contacts and deals. So In the very same way, I could come in here, I could select the contacts I want, and they will be associated with the campaign. So then when it, when it comes to actually analyzing the campaign and the performance, all these contacts and manually associated deals will like show up here directly on the performance page. So it'll make it then really easy as well to, as when it comes to analyzing the campaign, see all this data. In one place. And that's contacts and deals. I'm going to just also quickly share, as we said, this will work in lists, it will work in workflows as well. So if I jump into like the Segments tool, I can just share an example here where I've created a list. This is contacts, and I want to understand like what are the contacts that have been associated with like a certain campaign. Like I could edit this here with those influence types we shared as well, the association labels. If I had them created, I could segment by that as well. So you can do some interesting reporting here where I could just see lists now of contacts that are associated with a campaign ofā and then filter down by the campaign properties themselves. So if I wanted to see, hey, I just want to see all the contacts associated to these 3 campaigns, or maybe I have a custom property on the, on the campaign object, like of type equals event. I could filter down that way and see all the contacts that are associated with certain types of campaigns, then over a certain time range. So some interesting like segmentation use cases that you can unlock there. And again, with those association labels, if there's different relationships you want to map between content, uh, contacts and campaigns, you can do that through the label, and then that will work out of the box for segments. And additionally, in workflows, it's the exact same thing. If, for example, I have a deal-based workflow here, and every time a deal gets associated to a campaign with a certain name, I can enroll that in a workflow. I could have it assigned to somebody on the sales team, I could create tasks, I could send Slack notifications. But at that point when the campaign-to-deal association is made, you could now trigger numerous automations based off that. And in the exact same way that we shared, um, you could filter down by association label, you could filter down by all the different properties that live on the, on the campaign object as well. So again, you could do someā start to like explore some like interesting new use cases for when these associations are made, whether you want lists or you want new workflows or you want to create reports. All that like functionality is available today. For those two associations.
So, sorry to hop in here real quick. People are asking, is this live? Is it public beta? What's the status of this?
So, in terms of the contacts, deals, and tickets, this is now live on all portals. So, you should have access to these today. If I will call out that, like, if you do not see the Campaign Record. If you don't see this card, what you will just have to do is click Customize here, and then if you go into your view, you will see like this plus icon, and if you pick Campaigns out of the card library, it will thenā you can then have it show up and save it, and then you can use that card. Moving forward. So that will work for all the different objects here. I think if you've ever customized that sidebar in the past, it won't show up by default. So that's a good call out actually, that, that card won't show. But if you go to that customize panel and select campaigns card, then you can start to use that today. But that is available for everybody today. Anything else? Sorry, I'll just pause there. Anything else I can answer on that? Or Let me just check the chat.
I think you just answered Melissa's question.
Okay, cool. I will, I'll power on ahead then with the second part of this update. So we have, yep, that live for contacts, deals, and tickets. Also wanted to quickly mention the data model builder update that I shared. So A lot of this work, like what we're trying to do, is make campaigns feel like a moreā like a true CRM object. Like, for a long time, campaigns have kind of felt like their own islands. You've had to have these very specific rules in order to have your contacts be marked as influenced to get the attribution capabilities. We want, like, campaigns to function more like the other objects that customers use inside of HubSpot. So one, like, important step on that journey is having campaigns show up in the data model builder. So I'm just jumping into my settings here. I'm going to Objects, and if I now come to Campaigns, I'll see a UI that I see for all the other standard objects inside of HubSpot. And like, what I can do here is if I jump into the Associations tab, you'll see this new option to go to the Data Model Builder. And from here I can see Campaigns in this visual way, and I can see all the different objects that it currently supports associations to. So as we talked about Contacts, deals, and tickets are available today. And we have the label support, as we shared, for, um, campaigns to contacts. And then what I'm also excited to share today is we now support associations to custom objects from campaigns. So in this flow, I can quickly click on this and I can see all the different custom objects that exist on my portal. So if I want to enable an associationā they are not enabled by defaultā but if I want to enable an association between a campaign and this custom object, for example, you can do that directly from the Data Model Builder. And I will now see that here. And in the same way, I can create association labels. And once you have enabled that, then all the same functionality that I demoed to you for contacts, deals, tickets will be available for the custom object as well. I can go to this Program Evaluations, um, Object, and I will see the same, um, campaign association card. Um, I think thatā oh yeah, there we go. You'll see the card here. I can associate this to my campaigns and do it the exact same way inside the Campaigns app. It's also available yet in segments and workflows as well. So yeah, I guess I'll just summarize and finish up with this. In terms of launch status, contacts, deals, and tickets are all live, they're available to everybody. Custom objects is currently in public beta. We're in the process of rolling that out, and by this Thursday, April 30th, that will be in GA and be available to everybody. And then just the one call-out, as I mentioned, is if you do want to use custom object association to campaigns, you'll have to come to the data model builder and enable that, and then the functionality will be available for all users your portal. And also wanted to just share some like other exciting updates as well around the associations. So obviously what we talked about today was very much in-app in terms of making these associations, but we have heard as well from customers that it's important that like these are extensible and are available to use in other contexts. So we have like a public API for the, for the campaigns tool. You can associate all of the different marketing assets through that, but we're also going to be adding support for contacts, deals, tickets, custom objects, all these CRM objects to the Campaigns API. And that is not yet available, but it will be available next month. So if you want to do campaign management in like an external context, if you want to understand what are all the different assets associated to this campaign, if you want to make associations to contacts or deals in an external environment, you can do that as well from the public API. And additionally, we're also thinking in terms of campaigns about like our MCP, uh, support. So HubSpot, if you haven't used it, has an MCP server today that can read and write the core CRM objects. And we're in the process at the moment of like enabling campaign access for that. So that is actually available now today. You can read and get access to your campaign data directly from Claude And we're working on like enabling all these associations as well inside the MCP. So in a similar way to like whether you want to do it in app or the public API, you can also do it from Claude. And some of these new ways you can have agents talk to it, but you can get access to all of your campaign metrics, the associations, and then we're going to continue to add support for the different marketing assets as well. So you can read and get access to that data inside of Claude. Cool, that is campaigns connected to CRM impact. I am going to now jump over to some additional updates that we've made to associations as well. So what I wanted to talk about next, so the second of my third updates, is associating multiple assets to a campaign. So again, let's just like start and ground ourselves and like why this matters. So previously like for some of the most used assets that like all of our customers are using and connecting to campaigns like marketing emails and landing pages, you could only have a landing page or marketing email associated with one campaign at a time, which I'm sure is a problem many of you on the call are aware of and felt in the past. So it obviously like leads to problems that like if you want to like use that, that landing page and it kind of is, it's used in a couple of different campaigns, you'd have to like clone it, you'd have to you know, rebuild like a lot of these assets just in order to have it live in different campaigns for reporting purposes. Now we are like working on, uh, being able to like enable a single asset to live in multiple campaigns at once. So that asset can contribute to the revenue, it can contribute to the influence contacts across multiple campaigns at once. And again, this just means that you're no longer going to have to like clone assets simply just for your campaign management purposes. Uh, reporting visibility like improves a lot, and then additionally like the attribution accuracy is preserved here as well in terms of like how this works. Um, let's do a quick demo. This one is pretty straightforward, so this, this will be a lot faster. But in terms of like marketing email, this is now live and available to everybody. But if I come to a marketing email, let's say here, and I jump into the editor and I want to come to the, um, let me go to the performance page. So yeah, if it's an edited email, I think I should be able to do it directly in the editor. This is a test portal, so I might not have all the data readily available here, but let's come to the performance page of this email. And I can see here that it's associated with one campaign at the moment, but if I open up this details tab and I select this current Let me just see if I have a second portal that I could share this on. One second.
We're used to demos doing demo things.
You're good. Make sure I have a working one here that I can share. This should do the trick. Okay, sorry about that. Let me pull this up. So I'm in my email editor here, and you'll see the exact same campaigns dropdown that exists on all the different assets. So as we were shown there, this lives on your performance page after you send the content. It'll live in the email editor as well. Beforehand, I would have just had one I would have the option to select one, and if I tried to pick another, it would have just said, sorry, you can't have this associated to two campaigns, you can replace it. But now you can associate as many as you like. So if I want all these different campaigns to be associated with this email, I can do that directly in here and save that. And then once that's done, that will show up in all the different campaigns. So all the metrics, all the reporting will be available to view in all those campaigns. So that shouldā yeah, that will reduce the, like, the need to, like, have to clone some of these assets moving forward and clean up some of those workflows. And again, I'll just really quickly finish this update by calling out just some timelines. So, um, we are working through, like, the list of assets to, like, enable this functionality. So this is available now for one, for marketing email, and that's live across all portals. We'll have landing pages. We're going to rolling that out again. This Thursday is the date for that, so, uh, you can expect to see that one land in your portals quite soon. And we're continuing to work through some of those other, uh, asset types that don't support one-to-manyā blog posts, um, marketing events, uh, sequences, uh, some of those other assets as well. So we'll be continuing to, uh, release those. So keep an eye out for the product updates page, and we will share more there. And that is everything on associations. I'm going to finish with just some reporting updates as well. Is there anything in the chat that I can fillā that I can answer on that? No, you're good. Okay, cool. Let's power on then to the third part. So This is multi-campaign reporting. This one is in public beta. If you use Marketing Studio, you will see this live in your portal today. If you are using the existing Campaigns app, it is an opt-in public beta, so you'll need to come to the product updates page and opt into multi-campaign reporting to use this feature. So let me give you a little bit of background, and then again we can do a demo just to share how this works. So why does this matter, multi-campaign reporting? So We know that like campaigns are often related to one another, but there's no easy way to be able to view the performance of all campaigns together. So if you want to see all of the data related to a number of different assets in one place, like you were forced to either choose to, you know, create these mega campaigns that have so many different assets in them just for the purposes of bringing it all together and being able to like a report on it and like measure it, or you can try to like keep your existing structure where like campaigns have these maybe like parent-child structures and hierarchies. But like it was really difficult to do both. Like you either had, you know, like a parent campaign and the ones that sit underneath it. And if you did it that way, campaign management works and like everything is like tidy and like it makes sense. But then when it comes to reporting, it was really difficult to actually get all the data across those campaigns available to read in one place. So you'd have to maybe go and create a custom dashboard, you have to export all that data out of HubSpot. So just like a lot of extra manual steps in order to be able to do that. Or you could have just these like unwieldy campaigns that just have so many assets in them for the purposes of reporting, but then make it really like difficult to actually, actually manage. So with this update, you don't have to pick anymore, you can have both. So you can have the ability to structure your campaigns in like parent-child formats. We're calling it like campaign roll-ups, and I can demo that. And additionally, you have this new analyze experience where you're going to be able to report on multiple campaigns at once. So across a number of campaigns, you can pull in the key data points that matter to you and be able to like compare different campaigns at once. So let's jump in and do a demo of how this works. So I'm going to jump into my Campaigns app here, and you can see here I have a couple of different campaigns. And what jumps out to me, I have like a number of these campaigns that are related to like monitoring launch. So they're currently like separate campaigns, but in terms of like how I think about it, like I want to be able to like report on these all together. They're, you know, some of these are like for different quarters, so it makes sense to have separate campaigns, but in terms of the results, I want to actually be able to monitor and measure it all together. So what I have now is the ability here, you can see this new folder option, and I can group and structure and put my campaigns into these different buckets. So I can just much more easily now manage all my campaigns in one place, uh, be able to control those and like have theā have things just a little bit more like tidy in terms of like what sits where. And what's also really cool is like you can see now that we have this new option to analyze folder campaigns. So if I want to just, if I want to like report, I can go into each individual campaign and view the performance page. But with this new option, I can now report on all these 3 campaigns at once. So if I like click on this Analyze Folder Campaigns, it will bring me to this Analyze tab, but will filter for the 3 campaigns that I have selected in the folder. So you can see here now I've been brought over to this new Analyze tab. I have my campaign selected here that we had in the folder, but what I can see here at this high level is all the metrics across those 3 campaigns in one place. So I can see the revenue attribution, the goals, and these reports. So all the data across the campaigns is being rolled up into one view. Um, I can continue to like change this if I want to bring in extra campaigns. I can like add those in. You have these new views as well that you'll be able to see and break down the attribution, the campaign assets. So it's, it's a lot more tidy as well, just in terms of rather than one long screen of lots of reports, we have them broken down into these like easy-to-read categories. So depending on what you want to come here and analyze and compare, you can see these in different views and like report from there. Um, so yeah, as we said, from this Analyze tab you can select the campaigns manually. You can also access it from that folder option that I demoed there. So again, I just went to Folders added the campaigns into the folder and easily report on them from there. You can also just do it directly from the, from the Manage page as well. If I select multiple campaigns, I'll see an option here to jump over and analyze them in my Analyze tab. So yeah, just to call out again the final pieces around that, this is now in public beta, as I said. So if you use Marketing Studio, you'll have access to this Analyze tab today. If you are using the existing campaigns app, there is a beta opt-in. So you can goā if you go to product updates and look for multi-campaign reporting, you can opt into this now and you will see that new analyze tab. And this side panel here with the categories is also something that we are working on releasing at the moment. And we're really excited about this as well. We're going to add like a lot more new categories to it as well. So there's going to be a lot of different reports that we're going to bring in that weren't previously accessible in campaigns. But again, we're going to likeā yeah, the idea is here we're going to be able to build you like one workspace to come across all your campaigns, have a single place to come to see the asset performance, see the revenue, and then some of these other new channels as well, or like different ways to analyze that data. So yeah, definitely would recommend joining this beta. A lot of more cool stuff to come. But yeah, on that note, that is everything I have. So I, yeah, as I said, they're just a subsection of the updates that the product team here across the group and campaigns have released in Q1. A lot of these I know are long-standing problems with campaigns, things that people have felt in the past. So like really, really excited to share these, have these done, and then a lot more to come as I've kind of shared on some of those timelines. But On that note, I wanted to hand it over to Naomi, who's going to talk about some of those future updates as well that are going to come with campaigns. But thanks very much. I'll be in the chat as well to answer any questions.
Nice. That is a hard one to follow, Derek. I'm not going to lie. Okay. Yeah. So I'm going to show you a little sneak peek of some of the things that we've been working on for Marketing Studio and I'm just going to share my screen. Some of you may have seen some of this before, but it'll probably look a little bit differently because we've been really trying to think through how we can improve some of what Marketing Studio has been doing and also kind of push it further into the future at the same time. And we've also been really, really critically looking at the feedback that's coming from, from the public beta at the moment. And there's obviously lots, lots of feedback coming in because it's such a different type of experience for your campaigns. So just to give a bit kind of context on why Marketing Studio started in the first place and then where we are today. So the reason that we really chose to go after Marketing Studio in the first place is we could see that marketers were quickly wanted to quickly and easily orchestrate really impactful marketing campaigns, but all of the work was kind of fragmented across HubSpot, other tools, external tools, other apps. So there was a lot of context switching, juggling spreadsheets, docs, countless tabs, and this was just really, really inefficient and led to lots of manual work. And then at the same time, and even more so now, I would say the marketing landscape was completely flipping and changing. So AI was becoming really, really prevalent, and it's probably more prevalent even, even now. And so a lot of the time, agents are doing some of the, the heavy lifting. So we came together to think about what we, what we do about this, and Marketing Studio was kind of the way we would make sure that marketing teams could build collaboratively, but also kind of still have access to AI and making sure that it like you could build your campaign with the power of AI, and it was your kind of one place for your campaign success. We wanted to make sure that there was an infinite canvas so that teams could plan, build, and launch all of their campaigns from one place together. So it's not multiple tabs and like a one-player game. It's all multiplayer. And it also a really big mindset shift, I think, especially seen as everything that we've seen so far. It means that you can get into HubSpot a lot earlier in the campaign process, so more in the kind of like planning phase and creation phase of the campaign rather than just the, the end side of things on, on the reporting side, side of the world. So what does that look like? It, as I mentioned, it looks like a kind of infinite canvas, at least initially. And essentially the way that this works is each card on the, on the canvas is one of the assets. So you can really easily see kind of what's launching, what kind of stage each of your assets are at. So I've recently decided that I'm going to get well into trail running, so I've made a campaign about trail running. And actually, even in those areas, you can get very quickly into the editors themselves, so you can just go directly in and it will load load the editor in there. If I just go back into Studio, you can also use things like connectors. So this is kind of your, your place to plan without consequence, and I say that quite deliberately because a lot of the feedback we've got around the connections here are, do they do something? Am I going to break something if I connect cards here? And the answer is no. Here it's really just about planning out what the flow of your campaign will look like and maybe thinking about like what what week 1, 2, 3, 4 look like and kind of where you want your customers and your contacts to go through the campaign. So this one just now is a really simple one, which is just a landing page with a form which sends an automated email, which is a sign-up to a regular newsletter that gets sent out. And the call to action on there is just to another landing page to sign up for a live webinar similar to this one. Some of other cool pieces of functionality. So we've already seen the connections. You can kind of like drag and drop things around and really kind of like build out your, your visual plan. You can also do things like grouping some assets together. So I could call this, for example, um, sign up group. And then we've also made some changes. So if you're already a user of Marketing Studio, we've pulled a lot of the navigation and the toolbars around the screen based on some of the feedback that we were getting that it was quite difficult to, to find what people needed. So you can add assets down the bottom here. So if I wanted to add a new marketing email, and so this is bringing up all of your existing assets so you can easily add them in. You can also add new blank assets in there as well. So this is the list of all of the assets that, that you can add in there. And then we've also added suggestions. So these basically pull in asset suggestions based on the campaign brief that you have in, in your campaign and also the existing assets that are associated with, with the campaign already. So these will pull in some, some recommendations. I'm actually just going to add in an existing an existing asset, and then we'll just pull that in, and I'll grab that and pull that there for now. It doesn't like me wanting it to be over there. And one of the big pieces of feedback that we started getting, um, after we put this into public beta inbound last year was, where's automation? Um, we really needed to put automation in here. So this tab allows you to go into automation for the campaign specifically. And this is really designed for marketers. So we've had a lot of kind of quite technical ops folks saying, why have we got workflows and automation inside Marketing Studio? And the reason is that this is supposed to be a much more simplified version of workflows. So it's a a lot easier and simpler to use, and it's also kind of tied to the campaign as well. So for example, when I set up a trigger, I could say when a contact submits a form, and then it's already narrowed down the options in here to what already exists inside your campaign. So if you've either pulled an asset in using the Create Canvas or you've associated an asset in one of the asset editors, it will appear here. So I'm just going to go with the newsletter sign-up. And then you can also do some really clever filtering on this. So you could say filter the contacts based on a specific variable in here. For now, I'm going to leave that empty. And then you can select an action off the back of what happens when they submit that form. So you could do, for example, send an email, or you you could add them to another list. The two things I wanted to call out because they are awesome and we got really specific feedback about this is we've also added delays in here and also branching. So I actually see Jay on the call. I know, Jay, you were really interested in the delays here. So yeah, we've added those into Studio and then we've also got the branching logic as well. So you can do that based on kind of the, the variables in here as well. Yeah, this tab. So Marketing Studio in general is in public beta at the moment, so you can just go to the product updates page to get involved. The automation side of things is in a very, very small and yeah, kind of VIP rollout at the moment, so Yeah, would definitely recommend kind of like putting your hands forward for that. But yeah, it's a very small rollout at the moment whilst we just get feedback and kind of get it really nailed. And then the third area I wanted to show, I'm not going to go into the performance or the reporting side of Studio at the moment because Derek's already shown kind of like where that's going in the future for campaigns and Studio. But we also have a manage section. This is currently in development and we're hoping to get it into the public beta towards the end of May. But thisā some of these already exist in Studio, so you may be familiar with the existing board view, which allows you to see all of the assets based on what status they're in at the moment. And then you can do things like filtering by asset type or filtering by assignee. So actually, I've got way too many things in there. Erin has nothing, it seems. But you can also do things like looking at the table view in here. So this is just the table view of all of your assets. It's worth calling out that if youā you won't see workflows explicitly on the canvas at the moment, but if you have associated any asset with a campaign, it will appear in this table. So this is kind of the workaround at the moment for making sure you can see everything that's associated with with the current campaign that you're in. We're also adding an approvals dashboard in here, and then we've also pulled in projects. So if you're part of the projects or using the projects object as well, that's, that's in here. So you can easily either add a new project, which allows you to create new, or add an existing project. and then also add tasks as, as part of that project really, really easily as well. And I think, I think that was all I was going to show. The only other thing that I think is probably worth mentioning, because it's maybe still not as discoverable as it could be, is this lovely settings cog will give you all of the things that you need. So UTM tracking URLs, making sure you can add different users and teams. You can do things like canvas settings. Yeah, a lot, a lot of the kind of pieces that were more traditionally part of the campaign's main page are now pulled into, into the settings cog. Cool. I think that's all of the things.
Amazing. I'm so excited to see that automation piece coming around. I love It's been a long journey. Maybe journey isn't an especially powerful word to use, but we made it and it's looking great. Uh, so thank you. Um, yeah, I think now, uh, we'll go to Q&A. Are you both comfortable for that? Ready?
Ready?
Um, so everyone head over to the Q&A tab. It might be tucked away under a more button, it might not. Everybody sees something slightly different in Zoom. You can upvote. So we have just a few questions in here right now. Please feel free to add more questions and upvote the ones you like. And yeah, I think we will dive in. Do it in just a second.
Do it.
You can always resort it, Kyle.
It's true. All right. But right now they're all tied at 2 upvotes. All right, well, uh, Richard wants to know if custom objects can be associated to campaigns.
Um, yes, that is possible to do today. Right now it isā I think it's rolled out, I think, to 80% of portals. So if you don't see it on your portal, it will be available this Thursday. Um, and you just need to go to the data model builder, and you can then enable the association between the campaign and the custom object that you want to associate it with. And then you'll see those campaign cards that I demoed earlier on the custom object record, and you'll be able to tie those directly to your campaign. Let me know, let me know if that doesn't answer the question or if there's any more context I can provide. But in short, yes, you can, you can associate custom objects with campaigns.
Amazing. Kathy asks, will workflows set up in the new Marketing Studio campaigns tool also appear in the workflows tool? Can it be edited in both? Both places?
That's a good question actually. I don't know, Derek, if you know the answer to that one.
I do not know the answer to that. We can follow up. I don't know if any of the team on the chat would know that, um, but yeah, I, I'm not too sure on that one.
Me neither, but we can follow up.
Great. Um, is, uh, similar question: is automation actually a workflow under the hood? Can automation be seen and edited and Workflow. So I think we're going to get a fair number of questions about this. This also plagued, uh, the Journey Automation project, uh, understanding the relationship between the two tools I think is pretty crucial for this group in particular.
Yeah, they are, they are workflows under the hood. Um, I'm just not sure about the relationship in which you can edit one or the other when they appear in either product. So we can come back to that one.
Yeah, and that I can imagine. I don't know for sure, but I can imagine that is controlled by theā though. Oh yes, the workflow is being created under the hood and you can open the workflow from Studio. I was going to say we need someone like Jessica Hartnagel in here because I know sometimes like if you create a workflow in like a form or like in a deal stage, you have to edit it in that place where you created it. So it sounds likeā anyway, yeah. Check the chat there, everyone. The expert is in the room. Um, I saw the presenter had campaigns listed in the left sidebar under CRM or marketing. How do we do that? I don't have it.
Yeah, I'd have to double-check with the person who asked that question. I, I am happy to pull up my screen again.
What I believe All right, so I, in my marketing menu, I see Data Studio. I don't see campaigns. Um, I wonder if that's just like different depending on which betas you're opted into or not opted into.
For sure.
If, um, sorry, do you want to go, Derek, or should I?
Uh, you go.
I'll go. Uh, if you're opted into the Marketing Studio beta, it replaces uses the campaigns navigation item. So if you go to marketing, you'll see either campaigns or Marketing Studio.
Yeah, I think that is, that's a portal, sorry, with no studio. I see campaigns and then just to emphasize Naomi's point, yeah, this one does have access to it and so campaigns is renamed Marketing Studio.
But this is where I go to Derek for all of my questions.
Amazing. Uh, great. Jeanette asks, and Anker is typing, uh, in that folder option, multi-campaign reporting, can you select specific cards to add to a dashboard?
Yeah, that one might again just ask for a little more clarification. Let me pull up my screen again.
Um, so I didn't mean to discourage you from typing. I just meant we might get two answers at the same time.
Um, I think what I demoed for the folders was in here. We can jump in here, we can see it. Yeah, curious, like, is, is this kind of what the ask would be to see on a dashboard, or is it something over on the Analyze tab?
Janet, if you could sound off in the chat, let us know which screen you're looking at.
Oh, this one here, these individual reports. Can you add these to a dashboard? Not right now is the short answer. No, you'd have to come into, um, the, this campaign analyze tab and see the reports in this view, uh, is the, is the current functionality.
Great, cool. Erica says sequences association please, and then sorry, hit send too soon. I know that sequences are in there generally. I'm wondering about more granularity with specific statuses, like only associating with timelines or for specific statuses?
Nice. Yeah, I don't believe we have anything on the roadmap for that. As I said, we doā we are planning to support, um, like the same sequence being put into many campaigns. But yeah, more than happy to connect with you on that. I'd love to like learn a little bit more about the use case there, and we could, uh, we can definitely explore that.
Cool. Um, let's see. Uh, Jack says, can you use wildcards when searching for campaigns? I'd like to capture all campaigns that include ABC asterisk 2026, where asterisk can be several promo themes, etc. Uh, yes, that question may be easier to understand if you look at it.
He also added more in another question. So for the wildcards question, I was referring to the analyze section.
So those two points.
Oh, right.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yep.
I could test it out. Yeah, I'm not actually 100% sure. Can you search with asterisks? See if I can test it out really quickly and report back.
It's interesting. Um, I remember very early on in my time at HubSpot, now a decade ago, discovering that wildcards, both asterisks and question marks, worked in text field filters on index pages of the CRM. But that was several iterations of filters ago, so I don't actually know what the current state is, or, uh, whether even if it works, I don't know if that by design or not. It's an interesting question.
Interesting, yeah. Oh, sorry, Dana, do you want to go?
No, I was just going to say Anchor answered in the chat. I tested it. We don't support wildcards in the analyze filter, but it's good feedback. Cool.
And currently our final question, if anyone else has questions, go ahead and drop them in. Brooke asks, can we automate creation of campaigns for offline events, uh, through an integration like involve.me?
Um, I don't believe there's like any like straightforward in-app way to do it. Like, we do have like, uh, a public API that you can create campaigns, so it could be done with the assistance of a developer. But, um, again, would love to, love to connect with you on that and explore that one a little bit more, but not something something you can do today.
Great. Erica hopped in with another question. Uh, will there be a way to filter one-to-one emails for association? We want to add emails our reps sent regarding an in-person event but find it nearly impossible to find them without at least the ability to filter by sender, date, or subject in order to do that. Also, bonus would be to be able to add all emails from a chain at once.
Can you do that? I do not believe you can filter the associations right now. That is, yeah, I think there is something we're looking at on the cards where you might be able toā no, that'd be maybe more for the campaign associations though. I don't believe you can do it. I can definitely take that as a feature request though as well and something for us to consider and bring that back to the group.
Cool. And Erica Unker's got some thoughts for you in the chat. Uh, thank you. Thanks everyone for being here. Final question for you too, Derek and Naomi. Uh, if folks want to connect with you, what's your preferred method for them to do that? Are you on LinkedIn or what's your preference?
Yeah, I'm happy to share my email and my, uh, my LinkedIn. So yeah, open to anybody connected to me, or feel free to reach out over email as well if you have any specific feedback or you want to connect any of the points. More than happy to catch up with anybody.
Same for sure. I think Diane just posted ourā I got clicky, sorry. Yeah, it's really good.
I don't know what we would have done, Naomi, if you had been like, please don't email me, whatever you do.
Definitely not. You can hit delete really fast. Email or LinkedIn. LinkedIn. Yeah, no, I prefer a totally different method. But yeah, email again would, would be best. Um, and then yeah, always open to hearing feedback on Studio or campaigns in, in general. Um, hearing how people kind of use the product in, in the real world is super important. Love it.
Amazing. Well, thank you both for being here, and thanks to all the, uh, the product folks who are in the chat and the Q&A answering questions. This has been a great session.
