Hi, I'm George Kao. So in this short video, I want to talk about two sources of energy. For those of us who are starting or growing a business, doing what we love. The two sources of energy are internal energy or passion and external energy or compassion. So the internal source of energy is when you've had some kind of peak experience, some enlightenment or peak experience that you thought, this is so profound, I want to share the message with other people. Or maybe you solved a problem for yourself that you think, well, maybe others need the same problem solved, or maybe you've had some training or background in something that you want to share with the world, or maybe it's a hobby that you just love doing and you'd love to get paid doing it. So that's the internal source of energy, that's your own passion. And it typically takes quite some time to talk about your own passion. Enough so that there's enough kind of sometimes random people from Internet or certain groups that start to resonate with what you're saying. And maybe usually three to five years later, you're able to have enough income from talking about what you love and selling something to them that you can support yourself. The other source of energy is external energy, or you might say compassion, which is when you actually are, are meeting with individual people and seeing you talk with them enough, you be with them enough that you see their suffering, you see their problems, you get to really know what their problems are, what their needs are, what their challenges are, and you develop a product or service to solve their needs and challenges. Not sort of general, philosophical, the world needs this, people need that. But actual Bob had that challenge. So Susan had this challenge, Mike had this problem, Amy had this challenge. And then I developed the service to solve Isabel's problem or Laura's problem. That's a business driven, you might say, from compassion, from an external source of suffering. You see it and you solve that problem. And because money comes from other people, money doesn't just come from your own passion. Unless you have so much passion for so long that you're able to, your own enthusiasm infects others, but that usually takes quite some time and a lot of energy. But when you realize that money comes from other people and you solving their suffering and problem, money comes faster, income comes faster, you get clients faster and sooner. And so it's not that one way is better than the other, but it really depends on your needs. If you need incoming clients sooner than then, you need to switch your energy source to being driven more by the external energy actual individual people's problems and having and developing the compassion to solve their issues, not just your own philosophies and passions. But if you don't need the money as soon, if you are building a business more on a longer term, you want to turn a hobby, a passion into a business and you have three to ten years before you need the business to support you financially, then you can be driven by the internal energy source, your own passion. You don't need to go out and talk to other people, you just blog from your own home and whatever. And then you can build up an audience and sell something to them eventually. But it does take some time, so I hope that's helpful. That's my dog, Buddy barking and so I'm going to go for now, but I hope that's helpful and I'm always open to your questions and your comments. Until the next video, be well.
