How effective are IG Carousels for CTA?

George Kao compares Instagram carousels, single images, and reels for calls-to-action. He recommends testing all three formats on each offer, spacing them one to two weeks apart, then measuring likes, comments, DMs, and signups to see which drives the most conversions for your audience.

How effective are Instagram carousels for doing a call to action to invite people into an offer, et cetera? I think they're very effective compared to a single image. I think an Instagram carousel is generally more effective than a single image in many cases, not in all cases, but if you're going to try a call to action, you should try both. Well, you should try all three. You should try a single image, on Instagram, you know, something interesting in an image and then the caption gives the offer. You should also try a carousel post where you take the offer and you put it into a series of, you know, 5, 7, maybe, you know, if it's call to action, don't do 10 slides. Well, unless you're telling a story that's very interesting and it has some kind of teaching moment, then maybe it warrants 10 slides. But have your call to action, have your offer be multiple slides on Instagram as a carousel post and see how that works as well. And also finally, try a short video, a reel on Instagram to talk about your offer and see how that works. You should try all 3, not in a row, but maybe 1 per week. And you also have other content that you put in between these offers. So I think you should try all 3 and see which one works the best for you in terms of at least likes. You know, how many likes did you get per each one or comments on, hey, tell me more about this, or Direct messages, you know, after you— that's why you should give it a week, you know, in between each one, or maybe 2 weeks in between each one. So you can see what the reaction is, what the enrollment is for each of these 3 different formats. I think everyone should try all 3 because it's gonna be different for everybody. Okay? It's not like one is best for everyone. It depends how you do it, depends on your audience, depends on your offer, and the fit with single image versus a video. It really depends. So you should try all 3. And you should try all 3 with several offers just to see, test 3 data points instead of 1 data point. You know, each offer, you know, you have 3 separate offers, you do 3 different formats, 1 per week. So basically in 3 months you've tested the 3 formats with 3 different offers, and then you can then see of these 3 formats, which one has seemed to work best for enrollment, or at least getting inquiries. And then, and then you could decide from there.
