Hi, I'm George Kao. When you're working on creating a new habit, a good new habit for yourself, there are five types of success that I recommend that you celebrate. By the way, there's my barky dog buddy. And if you're in case you're wondering, I don't. I live in San Francisco. This is not San Francisco. I'm visiting in laws in New York. So this is a bit of a winter wonderland here. So five types of success. Number one is the success of intention. I encourage you to celebrate just for having the right setting, a clear intention for what kind of habit you want to create or what kind of goal you want to achieve. And a clear intention typically also means a commitment like I intend to get to this destination by the state by doing what? And I commit to doing that. So a clear intention, if you set that clear intention and you set a commitment for that clear intention, you should celebrate. And if you see other people doing that, you should celebrate with them, congratulate them on at least setting a clear contention that has a commitment. The second type of success is the success of doing okay. So you set an intention to get somewhere, to create a goal, and then you find yourself doing it, okay, Just like you, you committed to. Well, then you should celebrate the, that you're doing it, okay? So it's important that you do it regardless of whether you get there. At least you are trying and that's important and that's worth celebrating and celebrate that with other people who are making progress on their goals as well. The third type of success is the success of being as you are. And I believe that this is incredibly important, that most people don't even think about this or celebrate it as you are doing the goal, making progress on the goal. How are you being as you are doing? Are you aligned with your higher values and your virtues? I believe that life is ultimately about personal growth. It's not about. And really all these goals we set, all these achievements we want to have in our life, accomplishments, those are all really stages for personal growth within ourselves to become better people. And so the success of being is as you are doing it, are you embodying the kind of spirit and attitude you wish to embody? Okay, the success of being really important to celebrate and to think about. The fourth type of success is the success of returning because inevitably on the way towards your goal, on the way to creating the habit you want, you're going to, you're going to fall, you're going to miss a day, you're going to have times when you just don't feel like doing that habit. And the success of returning is to say, you know what, that's okay. It's inevitable that on the, on the path towards a goal, there's going to be detours and there's going to be challenges. And am I going to then return, come back to the original intention or a better intention, a renewed intention, a modified intention, Am I going to come back? Am I going to return to a truer path for me, a higher path? And when you do return, just gently return, don't beat yourself up, just gently say, ah, I wanted to go there, so let me just return to seeing what I can do now to continue to make progress. So the success of returning is incredibly important to celebrate, celebrate that within yourself and celebrate that within others. And by doing this, you will reinforce how important it is simply to return, to return to the original intention, to return to a truer path for yourself. And when you keep celebrating that, that intention, every, that success of returning, if you keep returning, you will eventually create the fifth type of success, the successive results. Because if you keep returning, you keep doing, and hopefully if you keep being, you will create the kind of results that you intended. So I hope that. And typically in our, in our mainstream culture, we really only celebrate two types of success. We really only typically celebrate the success of results. Really, oh, this is a billionaire. We celebrate that, you know that a celebrity, we celebrate them. Or someone who's created a lot of social, positive, social impact, we celebrate them. But it's always about the success of results. And we leave behind the other four types of successes. When someone is perhaps more aware of these things, they'll also celebrate the success of doing right. They celebrate, oh well, you're at least making progress and that's worth celebrating. But let me also say, what about the other three types of success that I've talked about? Intention, clear intention, and also being, and also returning. So I encourage you to think about that today as you celebrate your own progress and the progress of other people. As you think about these five types of successes, you will keep reinforcing positivity in your life and in your progress. And I believe you'll make more results because of that. So until the next video, I wish you well.
