Take a moment before you buy something and ask "What am I really supporting?"

George Kao argues that every purchase supports either virtuous or harmful patterns. Before buying, ask who you're funding: favor organic producers and ethical service providers, avoid marketers using fear tactics or gimmicks.

Hi, I'm George Kao and I'm here on a little road trip vacation break. And isn't this cool?
I don't think this is wheat.
I don't know what kind of plant that is. If you do know, comment below. And later on, I'm going to show you a really cool site at the end of this video.
In this short video, I want to talk about the idea that when you spend money, you're not just buying something for yourself, you're actually supporting a pattern within society of either virtues or lack thereof. So for example, when you buy organic food, right, you're doing it for your own health. Of course, maybe you're doing it for the taste, but you're also supporting the health of the farmers, you're supporting the.
Health of the environment.
And so you're not just when you spend money on organic food versus non organic food, you are directing a channel, a stream of energy towards that pattern in society.
Does that make sense?
So your dollars, your money that you spend is extraordinarily important. And so when it comes to buying.
Training, and there's a cool scene I.
Wanted to show you and there's of course, Buddy my dog, when it comes.
To buying trainings like marketing coaching, marketing trainings, or any kind of service.
Really.
Look at the marketing of the person that you're buying from. Do not buy from anyone whose marketing makes you cringe. Because if their marketing makes you cringe, but you think, gosh, their marketing is a little bit gimmicky and gross and hyped up and maybe fear driven. But I have to buy this info.
Product because this will allow me to make lots of money. This will allow me to grow my marketing and I really can't stand this person's marketing. But if I buy this, then it'll help me.
So I just have to bite the bullet and buy it, even though I.
Hate their marketing.
You don't have to. You have choice, okay? If you're just patient enough and spend another 15 minutes Googling that topic, you can either probably usually find free articles on that topic that you're trying to buy, or you will find another service provider that uses marketing that is much more virtuous, much more benevolent. And again, when you channel your money towards more benevolent businesses, businesses that don't prey on people's fears and greed, you channel a better world, okay? You're directing your stream of energies toward a better world. So as usual, I'll put more notes underneath the video, but I just wanted.
To share that idea with you.
That Your money is not just for you.
Your money is also for the world.
And when you spend money, you spend it in a win win way.
It benefits you, but also benefits the pattern in the world that you want to support. So I hope you enjoy this view. This is about 15 minutes north of Santa Cruz, California on Highway 1. So until the next video, I wish you clarity and happiness and peace.
Take care of.
