George Kao argues that a book reaches people who ignore your social posts. Busy friends and influencers will actually read it, and clients and students in your network suddenly pay attention. He's seen hundreds of students and dozens of clients engage deeply only after he published.

One of the key benefits that I haven't mentioned about writing a book is the fact that some people you have been friends with or acquaintances with and they haven't taken the time to read a lot of your posts. They may have glanced at a post here or there and they generally have a good opinion about you and they generally kind of know what you do, but they haven't, they haven't been a deep dive reader yet. You have some readers of yours who reads many of your posts. Several, maybe several dozen posts. But others are more on the sidelines. You're still connected to them. I'm speaking about myself. Like, for example, I have hundreds of students and dozens of clients that I'm personally connected to, like on Facebook and Instagram and LinkedIn and stuff. And I kind of, occasionally, once every few months, I might take a quick glance at their posts. But if they were to publish a book, I would be one of the first supporters and I would be much more likely to read a lot more of what they've written. Because it's in a book format. It's obviously a book is much more convenient because I would download it on Kindle and it's on my app and it's, you know, when I'm going to bed or whatever, it's easy for me to scroll through. Oh, wow, you know, so, so that's another benefit is what I'm saying is like you can, you have certain connections and friends who are either busy or they are more, you know, influencers that I just have to track a lot of different people and content and, and most people haven't published books in their world. Most of their connections have never and will never publish a book. So when you publish a book, you are going to get the attention of those connections that are haven't had the chance to deep dive into your content. So I'm really looking forward to seeing you have that benefit. And for example, I myself am going to be excited to read the books of a bunch of my clients and students once they publish it.
