A short YouTube tutorial by George Kao explaining YouTube's automatic dubbing feature, which translates a video's spoken language into the viewer's preferred language as audio. The video shows how to enable the feature in YouTube Studio (Settings → Upload defaults → Advanced settings → Allow automatic dubbing), briefly demos switching audio tracks, and invites viewer feedback.

YouTube can now automatically take your speaking language and translate it into the audio of the language of your viewer. So if you live in Mexico, for example, or the viewer lives in Mexico, they'll assume that they want Spanish and they might just change your audio language into Spanish. If they, if your viewer lives in Japan, it'll change it into Japanese. And it's gotten better over time. It now tries to match the voice of the speaker a little bit better, at least gender wise, match it. So let me go and show you how to check if your YouTube channel has it turned on. So go to YouTube studio studio.YouTube.com okay. And log in. I'm already logged into mine. And then click on settings on the left hand side. It's the gear icon. And then go to upload defaults and then, and then go to advanced settings and then scroll down. Okay. And automatic dubbing, there it is. Allow automatic dubbing. Allows the automatic translation of your speaking language to another one. And the manual, manual review before publishing. It's up to you. But of course, I mean, unless you can, you know, understand the, the foreign languages, I would just say manual review in experimental languages only. Or you can just say, listen, I, I trust it enough. I think I do trust YouTube enough because I wouldn't know whether or it's. It's correct anyway. So I'm just going to allow automatic dubbing. I don't have to manually review anything. I'm going to click save. And so let me just show you what, what it does. So let me go ahead and go to, go to my recent. Let me just go to. I'm just going to go to any, any video here, Any random video. Good morning, everyone. My name is Adam. Okay, so let me go ahead and show you what. Okay, So I think YouTube. I'm logged into YouTube and my language as a viewer is English. But you can change the language or the viewer can to a different language by clicking on the gear icon and it says, actually, I don't think Adam has turned on dubbing. So let me go to my own, my own channel here. Okay. And I'll show you often. Wait, click on the settings and audio track. There it is. Okay. Original or I can speak German really, really well, apparently. Watch this before do etwas erschaft hastu das GE fuhl das du bern must before do it was to. Okay, so it's pretty amazing. Like I said, I think YouTube tries to localize the actual language to wherever the person lives or whatever. The profile has been set as the main language. So go ahead and give it a try. Comment below with what you think about this auto dubbing feature. Thanks.
