In this solo YouTube monologue Dr. Ashley Frazee (Ashley F) addresses patients who feel unwell despite following conventional health advice. She critiques the standard 15‑minute, insurance‑driven primary‑care model and explains why she chose a self‑pay practice ($70/month) that allows longer visits and deeper exploration of persistent issues such as chronic fatigue, weight‑loss resistance, insomnia, joint pain, hair loss, and anxiety. Frazee introduces the concept of "signal interference"—a breakdown in hormonal, metabolic, and cellular signaling caused by stress, trauma, inflammation, genetics, or disease—that can jam the body’s ability to respond to foundational lifestyle pillars (sleep, exercise, nutrition, stress resilience, creativity, community). When these pillars alone don’t restore health, she discusses adjunctive strategies like peptides, advanced supplements, and other bio‑hacks, always flagging the level of evidence (strong, early, exploratory). Throughout she emphasizes that patients are not broken or failing; rather, they need a different kind of help that goes beyond conventional medicine. She calls for patients to keep asking questions, seek out clinicians willing to explore beyond standard protocols, and stay hopeful. The video ends with a typical call‑to‑action to like and subscribe.

There's a lot of people who get overlooked in healthcare. The ones who are actually trying and still feel terrible, but your doctor can't help you. I get mad sometimes because I'm not like other doctors. I seem to be the contrarian one, the cowboy. And honestly, it's been hard for me to sit with that. I never wanted to be the doctor hawking shortcuts and hacks and things that sound too good to be true. Things that other people call scams. Most doctors on YouTube talk very elegantly about how there are no shortcuts, just man up, exercise, eat well, sleep, manage your stress. And they're not wrong. You'll never hear me argue with living a healthy life. I want that for you. I just think you get tired of being told to do the same things over and over again. And sometimes you just need extra help. So today I just wanted to take the opportunity to share what I think happens to some people and see if it resonates with you. I think you need good sleep. I think you need to exercise to manage the cortisol that builds up in you almost daily. You need food that makes you happy but doesn't poison you. You need stress resilience. You need a creative outlet. And you need community. These are non-negotiables. They're the foundation of everything, and I mean that. So I'm not here to tell you that you can skip the hard stuff. You can't. But here's the thing. I graduated med school 10 years ago now. When I got out of residency, I didn't like the standard 15-minute visit. You know, do it the way that insurance wants it done. So I set myself up as a self-pay primary care doctor for $70 a month for most people. But there was an overwhelming amount of people bringing me the same problems that I was not trained for. And the problems were, why am I so exhausted when I'm doing everything right? Why can't I lose weight no matter what I do? Why do I wake up at 3:00 AM every night? Why do my joints hurt constantly? Why is my hair falling out? Why do I feel anxious all the time for no reason? These are not lazy questions from people looking for shortcuts. These are people who genuinely try but can't seem to fix it with diet, exercise, meditation, and mindfulness, right? Now, the blessing that I was given as a self-pay doctor— granted, I had to sacrifice the big doctor money up front to do this— but the blessing I've been given is that I get more time to spend with people and also time to spend working through these Tough topics that I was never taught to help with. So I've learned a lot along the way, and most of it comes down to this. For most people and these big hard problems like fatigue, something somewhere along the way has just been jammed up. Whether it was due to stress, trauma, inflammation, actual disease, genetics, or you had a career that consumed you for a while, whatever it was, You've had signal interference. I mean, think about it this way. Your body runs on signals. Hormonal signals, metabolic signals, cellular signals. And when those signals are working the way that they're supposed to, well, the foundational stuff, the good sleep, the healthy food, the movement, it all works and you feel it working. But sometimes the signaling breaks down. You had a lot of stress and you became cortisol dominant or estrogen dominant or insulin resistant. And things just don't work the way that they're supposed to anymore. Maybe your mitochondria stop producing energy efficiently. Inflammation jams things up, and you start to think that there's something wrong with you. Maybe you have thyroid disease or some rare condition that would explain everything. And I'm not saying that those things don't happen, but if you go to the doctor and they don't find anything like that, well, it's easy to lose hope. And when that happens, You can absolutely choose to power through it, clean up your life and your habits, work harder, eat healthier, sleep more, exercise more, go to therapy. And I respect that. And I'll constantly remind you to do these things. Sometimes it works really, really well. And sometimes the storm clears. But sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes you just don't have the energy or the time or the biological bandwidth to brute force your way through a problem. And that is not a personal failing. That is a system that needs a different kind of help. So if you've watched any of my videos, you'll hear me talk a lot about things like peptides and biohacks. And when I make a video on this channel, I'm either sharing something that I've actually seen help someone, or I'm exploring something that's really interesting. I'm never under the assumption that I'm talking about a scam or something that doesn't work. That is a promise that I'll make to you. I'm on a constant mission to find actual fixes for things like pain, fatigue, hormonal dysfunction, cortisol dysregulation, inability to focus, body composition, cellular aging. Shoot, I'm always on a quest to figure out how to help people regrow their hair because it matters to you. Or if there's something out there that people are doing, I want to know about it because I'm going to get asked about it anyway, and I'd rather be an aid versus a barrier to people when they do ask me about it. I like to tell you when the evidence is strong. I tell you when it's early. I tell you when something is fascinating but unproven. And sometimes those things are peptides or advanced supplements or interventions that your conventional doctor has never heard of and wouldn't bring up if they had. And that's not because doctors are bad. It's because the system that they practice in doesn't have room for this conversation. And I've just been lucky enough To have the room for it. So if you're watching this and you've been doing the work, you're eating better, you're trying to take care of yourself, you're pushing through, and your body still isn't responding, well, I just want you to hear this clearly. You are not broken and you're not failing. There's a really good chance that something in your body just isn't signaling the way that it's supposed to right now. And once you start looking at it that way, things can actually start to change. And that doesn't mean you stop doing the foundational things. Those things matter more than anything. But it does mean you might need a different kind of help to get things moving again. Because if you've been trying this hard and it's still not working, it means there's something deeper worth paying attention to. So don't give up hope. Keep searching and keep asking questions. I think the more questions you ask, the more doctors perk up and listen. There's more out there than just Here, take a pill and come back in 3 months and see if you're better. I think healthcare has an opportunity to help you understand what might actually be going on in your body and to help you do something about it. I just happen to be one doctor on YouTube trying to spread that message. I'm Dr. Ashley Frazee. I like researching fascinating topics, finding what works, and sharing it with you.
