What's up? Greg Faxson here. And I got a question from one of my private clients recently. She reached out and she said, greg, I have a colleague, a, you know, another coach in my specialty that I respect. And I just looked at her website, and it gave me this compare and despair feeling. It brought me into a space of comparing, feeling like my stuff isn't good enough. And basically, her website is the website I wish I had built, that I had in my head. And. And she did it, and I feel like she did it better than me. And what do I do? Because now it's draining my energy, and I want to use this as an opportunity and not just see it as a threat. So here is my answer to you, my private client, and also to the rest of my audience, because I know that a lot of coaches go through this. Okay? A lot. A lot of coaches go through this. And usually when it happens is when we are not executing the way we need to execute. The times in my business where I've been focused on looking at other coaches sites and thinking, oh, isn't that cool? What they're doing? It looks like they're successful, and how can I take what they're doing and apply it to what I'm doing and kind of try to imitate it? That's always been the times when I wasn't focused on my game. So in sports, I used to be a wrestler. In sports, people always said, you don't want to wrestle your opponent's match, right? Don't Wrestle their style. WrestleMania. Wrestle your style. Because anytime you're focused on what they're doing, you're not focused on what you're doing. And when you're not focused on what you're doing, you can't perform the way that you need to perform. Okay? So at the end of the day, that comparison is draining your creative energy. It's draining your ability to innovate. And even if you did do a good job imitating what they were doing and trying to adapt it to your own voice, you could only be as good as. As they are. You could never be better than them. You could never innovate because you are playing their game. And so use that jealousy that comes up, that envy that comes up when you see someone else rocking it, and use it as fuel for you. Because for me, I don't give a shit what my competitors are doing. I really don't care. It's irrelevant. I don't focus on it because I'm focused on being the best in my specialty. I'M focused on being the best in my niche. And looking at their stuff isn't going to help with that because that's their style, that's their game. Okay, so I want you to come back to what do you need to be executing on right now that you're not? Because oftentimes, kind of in the inner game of entrepreneurship, right? In the mental game, your opponent is not your competitors. It's not the other people in business around you. It's yourself, right? It's your insecurities, it's your fear. And so sometimes when you see a competitor and. And it seems like they're being super successful and they're doing the things that you want to do, and they're almost doing it the way that you imagine doing it, that's going to bring out insecurities like, I'm not good enough. I can't compete here. Instead, focus on what your style is, what your game is, and focus on executing. If you're in action and you're busy and you're clarifying your vision and you're focused on delivering for your existing clients in a new, innovative way, attracting clients to you who would be a great fit, converting the clients who are interested in doing better in all those three areas, you won't have time to look and worry about what other people are doing. And the truth is, there's enough business, there's enough clients for everyone. If people are good at articulating what makes them different and their sweet spot, there are enough clients for everyone. And that's the abundance mindset that you need to to be successful as a coach. When you fall into a scarcity mindset, feeling like there aren't enough clients, there isn't enough money. So anyone who launches a website that could potentially compete with mine is a threat that is going to be very, very draining and will bring up fear and anxiety for you. But when you feel like there's enough clients for everyone, I have to focus on my sweet spot, what makes me different, and then going on and executing, you won't have that problem anymore. All right, hope that helps, and we'll talk next week.
