Here are three questions you can ask yourself to figure out whether or not to delegate a task. I was just on the phone with a client and we were talking about whether or not to delegate some of the tech side of his business. The first thing I asked him is, was this activity core to his business? And in this case it wasn't. It was some sort of admin website tech thing. He doesn't need to learn how to do this in order to understand how his business works. Number two, you want to ask, do you have more money or more time? Right. If you have extra money to spend, then you should pay someone. You should delegate it. If you have extra time, it's worth doing yourself. So depending on your phase of business, you might have one of more than the other. And then the third question, is this in your zone of genius? Is this something you love to do? You get energy from it? Only you can do it in this certain way. And in the case of the admin tech stuff with his website, it's not in his core of genius. So if you answer the questions with it's not core to the business. I have more money than time and it's not in my zone of genius. You should get it off your plate.
