In this concise sermon, the speaker emphatically declares that the Kingdom of God is a theocracy, not a democracy. He explains that divine authority originates from God’s throne and flows downward, contrasting it with human‑derived authority. Using the analogy of a child’s permission to speak in a household, he illustrates that believers, while granted access to prayer, the gospel, and the Holy Spirit, are not sovereign rulers over God’s will. The talk warns against the modern tendency to “decree and declare” as if believers were kings, clarifying that such language can create confusion about the true nature of Christian authority.

The kingdom of God is not a democracy. Let me be clear about that. I need to say that again. The kingdom of God is not a democracy. God is not taking a vote on reality. The kingdom of God is a theocracy. Say that with me. Theocracy. That means God rules. God is king. And in the kingdom, authority does not rise from human desire. Authority flows down from the throne of God, the throne of grace. That right there is where we have to start, right there. Where does this authority flow from? Right there. This is a very good launching point for every single one of us, because a lot of what is called decreeing and declaring today sounds like people are trying To talk like kings when they were only called to live as citizens under the king. And there is a difference. You can have authority and still not be the authority. You can have permission to speak and still not own the throne. Let me say that. Let me be clear. Let me make that Plain. We can't get any simpler than that. In your house, your child may have permission to speak. Your child may have freedom to ask. Your child may have room to express themselves, but your child does not run the house. Why? Because having access is not the same as having rulership. And in the same way, believers have access to God. Believers have authority. Believers have the privilege of prayer. Believers have the power of the gospel. Believers have the help of the Holy Spirit, but believers do not become little sovereigns with a mouth that outranks the will of God. That is where confusion begins. So let us break this down step by step.
