You can read the Bible and still leave hungry. Had the perfect vocabulary, perfect sermon, had the perfect homiletics, hermeneutics, exegesis properly, all of these wonderful theological words that preachers use and say. But there is a difference between handling the word and being fed by the word. You have been eating the word, but you've not been feeding. And there's a difference. Reading the Bible renews your mind. Eating the Bible feeds your spirit. And somewhere along the way, the church taught us to read and forget to teach us how to eat. So this morning, I'm not asking you to study the word. That is not my intention. I'm asking you to let the word study you because Hebrews tells us the word is living and active. And it is not lying on the page waiting for us to It is not. For those of you that are watching, it is not lying on the pages waiting for us to figure it out. It is sitting up, it is looking back, and it knows where the cracks are in our lives, the cracks in every single one of our lives. The word knows. The word is studying us. That's right. Yes, I know that we say that we're called to study the Word. No, the Word is in fact studying us. Are you listening to me?
