In this sermon, Harry Pitts teaches that spiritual power—whether for healing, provision, revelation, or hearing God’s voice—is not random or emotional but is released when a believer’s life aligns with God’s will. He argues that power follows specific, scripturally‑backed practices: drawing near to God, consecration, obedience paired with compassion, faithful stewardship (tithing and giving), disciplined study of the Word, and a quiet, obedient posture. Each type of power is illustrated with biblical references (James 4:8; Matthew 14:14; Mark 16:17‑18; Luke 16:10; Proverbs 3:9‑10; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalm 119:130; John 10:27; 1 Kings 19:11‑13). The central claim is that God releases power to believers who meet these conditions, not to those driven by ambition, greed, laziness, or noise.
Chapters
Every believer must do this if they want power. Power in the life of the believer is not accidental. It is not emotional. It is not automatic. Power responds to the alignment of your life with God's will. James chapter 4, verse 8 says, draw near to God and he will draw near to you. God does not release He releases power to curiosity. He releases power to consecration. Now, if you want power for healing, healing power flows where obedience meets compassion. Jesus healed because He was submitted to the Father, and He moved with compassion for the people. Matthew 14:14 says, moved with compassion, Jesus Heal them. And Jesus said plainly in Mark chapter 16, verses 17 and 18, these signs will follow those who believe. Here's the gospel truth: power for healing is released through obedience, not ambition. Hmm. If you want power for wealth and provision, you must be a tither. You must be a giver. God does not empower greed. He empowers stewardship. Luke chapter 16, verse 10 says this: Whoever is faithful in little is faithful also in much. Provision follows honor and integrity. Proverbs chapter 3, verse 9 and 10: Honor the Lord with your wealth, then your barns will be filled. God releases resources to hands He can trust in hearts he does not have to correct. If you want power for revelation, revelation does not fall on the lazy. It rests on the disciplined. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, study to show yourself approved unto God. The Word reveals light when it is open. Psalms 119:130 says, the entrance of your word gives light. Here is the gospel truth. Revelation is not mystical. It is a reward of hunger. If you want power to hear God's voice, God is always speaking, beloved. The issue is not volume. It is posture. John 10:27 says, my sheep Hear my voice. God often speaks in stillness, not noise. 1 Kings 19:11-13 confirms this— a still, small voice when God spoke to Elijah. God speaks clearly to those willing to obey quietly.
