A teaching on biblical sexuality that distinguishes between desire (which is God-given) and sin (which requires acting on temptation). It defines pornia as any sexual activity outside marriage, explains how dopamine, oxytocin, and vasopressin shape bonding, and describes "one flesh" as a physical, emotional, and covenantal union that the brain encodes as lasting memory.

Pornia includes premarital sex, adultery, prostitution, pornography, sexual fantasy rehearsed outside of covenant, and sexual union outside the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Attraction is not sin. Arousal is not sin. Desire itself is not Sin. God designed desire. James chapter 1 says each person is tempted when drawn away by their own desire. Then desire conceived— it is conceived. Desire is not yet birth. Agreement is birth. Temptation is suggestion. Sin is in fact agreement. Jesus himself was tempted, but he did not agree. So stop condemning yourself for feeling, for having feelings that God gave you. One flesh means physical union, emotional bonding, psychological imprinting, covenant language expressed through the body. That God created. When sexual intimacy occurs, dopamine rewards the behavior. Oxytocin bonds the attachment. Vasopressin stabilizes pair bonding. Now I got a little bit scientific with you, but I need you to hear me. The brain encodes memory, significant memory. Your body does not register casual behavior. It registers connection. Even if your mouth says, I meant nothing, it meant nothing to me, your nervous system says this matters. Now the image is repeating every single time you go through this.
