Connect 9,000 Apps to One Unified AI Dashboard (Claude Code + Zapier SDK)

Helena Liu builds a real-time dashboard that pulls data from 40+ business apps into one place using Claude Code and Zapier's SDK. She starts with a mock-up in plain English prompts, then connects live data from Stripe, Google Analytics, GoHighLevel, and 9,000 other Zapier integrations to replace the dummy numbers.

Did you know the average small business owner uses more than 40 different tools in order to run their business? I'm talking about their Stripe integrations, PayPal, Google Analytics, Facebook ads, website hosting, and the list goes on and on and on, right? And so whenever you ask them a very simple question like, how well is your business doing? Oftentimes they are answering based on their gut feelings rather than real numbers, because in order for them to crunch the numbers, they had to log into 5 different systems, get the numbers, know what they mean, compile them together, and it's a lot of work. And now today I'm going to show you how to create a unified dashboard so at any point in time you can understand the health of any business. If you're new to my channel, hi, my name is Helena, and on this channel I talk about everything AI, agents, automations, tech. So if you want to be in the know and stay at the forefront of technology, please make sure you like and subscribe. I would very much appreciate that. I also have a free masterclass on Agentic AI, so if you're interested in building your own AI employees and get them deployed across your businesses, or if you're looking for a profitable AI side hustle, make sure you register for my free masterclass below. In addition to that, I just launched a new book. It's called Agentic AI Playbook. You can find it on Amazon. I will include the link to the book in the descriptions below as well. With that being said, let's dive into how we can create our unified dashboard here. So we're going to use Claude Code in order to do that. So what we're going to do is go over to Code once you expand the sidebar here on Claude, and then you can see it opens up a browser. Now you can absolutely connect Claude Code to your VS Code if you do want to work on it on your local machine, but the setup here is beyond the scope of this video because it does take a while in order to do that. So you can see I have a new session here on Claude Code, and again, I'm just describing in everyday English what I want to build. Now the first thing that I want is just to visualize, like, what do I want on this dashboard, right? So I go back to the problem first, so I don't start with the technology. I start with what is the pain point that I'm trying to solve for. And in this case, I think of my business as a funnel, right? So what makes sense naturally is what numbers or KPIs make sense at each stage of the business. And so I'm just talking to Claude here and I'm going to see what it comes back with. Okay, I have my prompt written here. I told Claude I want to create a unified dashboard for my business, Product Camps, and I want you to include the relevant steps in the funnel like attract, convert, etc. Then I want you to link all my tools in one place. I gave it some examples of tools I use for my business. I also want it to include my YouTube channel views, IG follower count, etc. So this is the starting list, and I want you to do some research on my company and make this list even more comprehensive. I also Auto Claude. I am not a data analyst, so I have no idea what kind of simplified, unified dashboard should look like. So it's got to go and design it. And I want it to answer a very useful question. And that question is, how well is my business doing? So by looking at this dashboard at a glance, I should be able to answer that question. Okay, so you can see it's gone ahead and it's gone to work here already. Now, I did connect this to my GitHub account. In order to do that, you just log into your GitHub here as I have done so, and you would just go onto repository and click new and then give this repository a name. Then you go back to Claude here and ensure that this dashboard project that you're creating is linked to your GitHub. So you want to link it to your GitHub because that will make it easier whenever you want to deploy this. You can also just use it locally. on your local machine as well. But if it is something that you want it to be accessible via login, via the internet, and you want to deploy it to a URL, then you do need to connect it to GitHub. And then you can then deploy this GitHub repository on something like Vercel or SiteGround or any hosting provider really. Okay. All right. So you can see that it's now gone to work and we'll wait a second until this is done. Okay, so it's been about 10 minutes or so and can see we have our first version of the dashboard. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. This is not bad, and this is just all dummy data at this stage right now. We can see our MRR, cash collected, new customers, and then funnel. And what we can see is that it went into each of the funnel stages just as we have asked. How many people did we attract? How many people engaged, converted, monetized, delight, and retained? Okay, and it has Stats for all of them, number of leads we got, number of trials, appointments booked, how many active members do we have, MRR, you know, number of open tickets in our support tickets. So it's not bad for a first round. There's definitely things that I want to fix up, so I don't really get the business health scorecard here. This information is really useful. This information, not so much for me as like the business owner. This is useful, but I think it makes more sense almost like as columns instead of, you know, one block after another. So I'm just going to go back to Claude here and tell it my feedback. Now, when it comes to working with any kind of vibe coding Claude code, you always have to just be patient because it may take a few iterations until you get it to do exactly what you want it to do. So you can see here, I told it exactly what I liked and what I didn't like. I said it's not bad for a first attempt, but I don't find having this information here is of any use to me. And just having like this section here, it doesn't really tell me much, so I don't really need it. I think that each of these blocks on each step of the funnel, like attract, engage, convert, etc., they could be shortened. To 3 to 4 metrics and be condensed into columns so that I don't have to scroll so much to get to know all the data, right? But you can really configure your own dashboard to look however you want it to look. Now, I just also want to show you how I got this dashboard to show up on GitHub right now. So if we go back to dashboard here, you remember that we set up a new repository in order for Claude Code to push the code into our GitHub, right? So once we're in our GitHub, we can go over to Settings and we are going to go down to Pages. And this is where you can find where your page is live at. So if you do not see this data, then go down to Build and Deployment and make sure what is selected is Deploy from a Branch. And if you go down to Branch, you'll be able to find Claude. Yours will probably not say peaceful-aller. I'm not sure how to pronounce that, but Claude calls itself something different every single time. So make sure that Claude is selected. You do want to select the root folder, not the documents folder, and make sure all of this is saved. Okay. And once it's saved, you just have to wait about 5 minutes or so for the first deployment. The first deployment does take a while. And then when you refresh this, you'll be able to see where your site is live at. Okay. So I did make this public, but you can also make this project private because of course you probably don't want the whole internet to see all of your business data here, right? So you'll be able to see your link and you just click on that link and you get your entire website here. Okay, so we're just going to give Claude probably another 5 to 10 minutes to create the second version of our website, and then I'm going to show you how you can start connecting your real data to the platform. Okay, so it's been about another 5 minutes or so, and you can see that Claude has come back with version 2 of our dashboard and it's looking a lot better. So it's giving me all of the KPIs that just at a glance, I can figure out how well my business is doing. And this is going to pull from like Stripe, Google Analytics, my GHL account, and so much more, right? So once you're happy with the mockup and that, uh, Claude Code has come back with, like if you don't like the colors, go back to Claude Code and just talk to it as if you're just, you know, talking to any other human about what it is you wanted to change. And you just go back and forth with it in plain English until you get the dashboard looking exactly the way that you want and for it to display the exact KPIs that you want. So now let's go on to step number 2, which is actually connecting all of our real data to the dashboard. Right now, this is all mock data right here, right? So the way that we can do that really easily is using Zapier's new product called Zapier SDK. Now I want to explain the differences between automation, MCP, and SDK real quick. So an automation will work based on a webhook, so we can can go back here and we can actually ask Claude to create a webhook to GHL, for example, and pull the number of contacts that we have and then display it here. But that's going to take a very long time because we basically have to create a webhook to every single one of these tools for every single one of the KPIs that we want it to be displayed. Now, MCP is usually used for agents. So when you want to chat with an AI agent, then you can give it a number of tools that's all in an And based on what your request is, the AI agent will use the most appropriate tool that you have connected it to in order to get your request done. So for example, if you're saying something like, build me a web page and publish it onto my WordPress, as long as that AI agent already has access to your API to your WordPress site, it's actually able to understand that request and take the most appropriate actions, right? But in this case, because we are basically building a tool or a software or an app, we want to use SDK. Okay. So basically the way that you can easily differentiate if you want to use MCP or SDK is, is this a tool or an app? If it is, then use SDK. If it's an agent or an AI employee, then you want to use MCP. Okay. And so what Zapier's SDK does is that it allows you to connect to over 9,000 different tools that it already natively connected to. So what this means is that you don't have to create like 20 different webhooks and give an API key back to Claude here for every single one of your tools, make sure it's connected and manage like 20 different connections, right? You just need to manage one connection. So in order to get started with Zapier SDK, like they actually have a get started page here. Now you can choose the tool that you want to use. Currently we're using Claude, so I'm going to open up Claude here and it's actually going to give me the prompt to use. So I'm just going to copy that and go back to Claude Code and paste this in. So what's going to happen now is that Claude is going to link my account to my Zapier SDK, and then inside of Zapier SDK, I will give it access to all of the tools in my business. And that is how The Zapier SDK will be able to link to this dashboard and I will be able to see all of my real numbers. Isn't that cool, guys? Now, if it's still confusing, I'm going to just explain it one more time. Okay? So you can think of MCP as a collection of APIs all in folder. Okay? But it is still hosted on Zapier or wherever you are creating your MCP. With an SDK, different is that you can actually access the power of all of the native integrations, in this case from Zapier, but you're hosting it yourself on your own server. And so if you're looking to create your own apps and you still want to tie in other software tools, then you've got to use an SDK so that you can link to it very easily. I'm just going to throw another example here off the wall. So let's suppose you want to create your own AI video generation app, but it's going to use HeyGen's API for some stuff, then you actually want to connect Zapier's SDK and make sure that HeyGen is connected to your SDK. So now you are hosting that integration. You are not making an API call via Zapier to HeyGen in order to get the results back and forth, right? So you are no longer building a front end with an AI automation in the back end. You're connecting directly to whichever tool you want to connect to via an SDK. So I hope it's clear now what the difference between what we're doing here with the SDK versus an automation. If you still have more questions, let me know below and I will try to clear things up as well. I also got a free course and we're going to dive way more into this if you want to get super technical and nerdy. The link is going to be below as well. Okay, so it's been about another 5 to 7 minutes or so and we have more instructions from Claude Code now, and it's going to tell me exactly what I need to do here. It's giving me the exact blocks of code that I now need to run in my local terminal here. So, I'm going to open up terminal, and I'm going to paste in the code that Claude Code has given me. And now it's setting up a new branch. And by the way, you don't need to know what all of this means. Like, Claude literally just tells you step by step what you need to run here. And then after this runs, then we're going to do the second command, then we're going to do the third. Okay, so after we ran the second command here, actually it asked me to log into my Zapier account, which I did. And once you log into your Zapier account, you will go over to App Connections and connect it to all of the tools that you're currently using in your business. So if you're using Zapier a lot for your business anyways, everything should already be connected here. So you can see I I have my Google Calendar connected, Google Analytics connected, my YouTube account connected, etc., etc., right? Now, to add a new connection, just go up here, click Add Connection, search for the app that you're trying to connect to, right? For example, if you're trying to connect to WordPress, just type in WordPress, click on that. This whole thing is no-code, so it doesn't get any easier than this. I remember a couple years ago, I was watching this podcast on someone who started an AI side hustle, and literally all they did was create these AI unified dashboards and they were making like $100 grand using no-code Bubble to make this. They were charging $100 grand just to build one of this. And considering how far, like in just 2, 3 years, how far this technology has come, sometimes it just really leaves me speechless. Like AI has literally advanced more in the past year than I think in the past 3 years, right? So whatever you want to connect to, some will have OAuth, so you just log in with your account and you can be connected to it. Some will require you to put in your API key. So you would just follow the instructions of whichever tool that you want to connect to and make sure that it's connected here via Zapier. You will see the status here as connected if it's connected. So you can see all the tools I have connected here from spreadsheets to my GoHighLevel to WordPress, etc. Right now, once everything is connected, then you can run this command right here and Claude will tell you as well. So what this actually does is in your terminal, Claude will be able to see what it can read and what it can write. So for example, here's my Stripe connection, which is not connected just yet, but it will be able to read all of these actions because Stripe actually has API integrations that will allow Zapier SDK to do all of these actions here. And you can see here my Google Calendar is actually connected and Zapier SDK can already do all of these actions here. So if there's something that it can't do, then I go back here, unzip your connections, and ensure that they can. Okay, and this is just like a quick view that you can check all the things it's connected to and what it can and cannot do. Okay, on the terminal, and you can see after I've connected my Zapier SDK, okay, and it's now telling me to run this command on the command line. So I'm going to go ahead and do that. And by the way, I would not consider myself a coder by any means, right? So I feel like if I can do this, anyone can do this. Okay, all right, so it's told me to put in these commands. All right, and I'm going to do that. Then I'm going to open the dashboard and hit refresh. So let's go ahead and do that and put in this new command line here. And after about another 10 minutes or so, everything is done, and I can actually see all of my real data here. So it makes it really simple because now I just need to talk to Claude Code, and I didn't even have to go through VS Code or anything like that in order to build something like this. I literally just used Claude Code that was on the browser to do this, and then I deployed it onto GitHub. And lastly, I was able to connect all my tools using Zapier's SDK. This is the simplest way that you can actually create a unified dashboard, but I also just want you to note that the use cases are much more beyond the unified dashboard. This is just one example to get your creativity juices rolling. Now you can build an app and connect it to anything that you want. Like, one of the drawbacks of a lot of the vibe coding platforms like Lovable or Replit is payment processing, for example. But now with Zapier SDK, you actually solve for that. So just connect your Stripe account to Zapier SDK, and you can just talk to Claude that it needs to start collecting payments, and it will actually be able to do that now. And you can do some really complicated things. You can now connect to other software in order to make your own software better directly without an automation in the middle by using SDK. So I hope you found this whole tutorial helpful, and if you did, I would really appreciate a like and a subscribe. Also, don't forget, I do have a free masterclass coming up, and you can also check Zapier SDK below as well. Thank you so much for joining me for today's training, and I'll see you soon in my next video.
