Helena Liu shows how to scrape up to 10,000 industry-specific leads using Claude Code and the open-source Scrapegraph tool. The process costs $1 to $5 and takes 30 to 90 minutes, compared to traditional services charging $99 per month. She walks through installing Scrapegraph, adding an OpenAI API key, and running a scrape for accounting businesses in the US.

In this video, I'm going to show you how you can get up to 10,000 leads in any niche or industry that you want with just one prompt. Okay, so watch this, guys. So I can just type in Claude here, find me 10,000 accounting leads in the USA, and let that run. We're going to wait a couple minutes, and here is the output. So you can see here a full list of accounting leads from all over the US. So that is what I'm going to teach you how to do here today. Now, what we're going to do first is one, get an OpenAI API key. Now, you may be wondering, hey, Helena, you were doing Claude. Why do you need an OpenAI API key? Because for something like scraping, it's relatively simple. So I am looking for an LLM or a large language model with lower token cost, and I'm going to pop up the token cost of Claude versus OpenAI up here, and you can see for the lower tier models, which is what we need for something like scraping for leads, OpenAI's 4oNano, it's actually much cheaper than what Claude offers at the moment. So we're actually going to give Claude an OpenAI API key in order to do this. I've tested many different methods, just trust me on this. It's only going to cost like a dollar or 2 to get like 10,000 leads. So no more paying the very expensive subscriptions. Okay, so in order to get your OpenAI API key, what we're going to do is go to platform.openai.com, and then we're going to log in here, and we're going to go down to API keys, and we're going to create a new key, give this key a name, and then we're going to copy this key, store it somewhere, and we're going to need it in just a moment. Now, the GitHub repository that we're going to use in order to do this is something called Scrapegraph, and this is what it looks like. So basically, this is a repository that someone has already made, and the all the instructions for scraping, etc., is already built into this repository, which means we don't have to do anything additional. Okay, all we need to do is install this into our Claude code. So in order to do that, we want the desktop version of Claude, and make sure you have that downloaded. And then what we're going to do is we're going to install Scrapegraph here. Onto our Claude code. So I am back in a new window in my Claude code, and here is the prompt I'm typing in. So I'm giving Claude code the URL of the GitHub, and I say, "I want to scrape unlimited leads. Can you please help me install this GitHub repository?" So you can see I'm just chatting with it in everyday plain English, and Claude already knows how to go onto that page, get the instructions, and install it onto. Your local machine here, right? And then it's giving me the extra instructions here to follow. As you can see, it's giving me like the cp commands. And to be honest, I am not a developer, so I don't exactly know what, what these things mean. However, in the age of AI, you don't need to. You just need to follow the instructions that AI gives back to you. And I'm going to include all the prompts and instructions I used in the description below as well, so make sure you check that out. And then you can see once this is done, and then it actually opens up a window here for me to actually put in my API key. So I put in the OpenAI API key. It actually prompted me to enter in the Tropic one, but I did the OpenAI one because like I said earlier, it was cheaper. So after I put in my OpenAI API key, And now I'm just going to wait a bit. And it actually told me here that I didn't include any payments on my OpenAI account. So I went back and I added in like $5 for like 10,000 leads. It was like $2, $3 or something to scrape that many leads. The amount that was paid was, you know, insignificant. Like if you're, you know, paying LinkedIn or any of the lead finder platforms is usually like $99 per month and they give you 10,000 leads. So this is much cheaper alternative here. So after that has been set up here, right, I started a new window, as you can see here. And, and I told Claude here that my Scrapegraph AI setup is complete. And I wanted to scrape as many accountants, bookkeepers, tax prep services in the US as possible, find as many as you want, 10,000 would be great. So one of the limitations, limitations of Scrapegraph is that it can do up to 10,000 leads all at once, right? Which is still a lot. So basically just let this run for about 30 minutes to 90 minutes-ish, and you come back and you get a CSV with all of these leads on it. So like, you know, if it's close to bedtime, let it run, and by the time you wake up, you get this entire spreadsheet like ready to go. And I think this ended up being like at 9,000-something different leads that was just done in under an hour. So this is a great technique to use if you just want to scrape all of these leads very inexpensively in a very short period of time. I hope you enjoyed this video.
