#145 - 3 things to simplify NOW to make more sales this year
7 Dec 2025 · 0 min
Kate McKibbin walks through three ways to boost sales by cutting clutter: nail your messaging to one clear pain point, strip your teaching down to the essentials, and switch to evergreen launches instead of constant promotions. Each shift saves time while keeping results intact.
Easily communicated. It needs to be on your sales pages, it needs to be on your homepages, it needs to be in your socials, it needs to be how you talk about it.
This is the Doing It Online podcast with your Host, serial entrepreneur, 6 and 7 figure funnel strategist and super nerd Kate McKibben, where every week we're here talking nerdy and sharing the things that actually work to help you do what you do online. But better, easier and with a ton more profit too. Are you ready? Let's do it.
Hello. Hello, guys, and welcome to the Doing It Online podcast. I'm your host Kate from hellofunnels Co and today we're talking about getting simple, about getting rid of the complicated and what three things exactly. You need to go and simplify right now that are going to make you more sales this year. So let's dive on it. Alrighty, guys. So does your business feel a little bit complicated? It happens. Particularly if you've. You're either a at the start and you're kind of, you know, in that frantic, you know, throwing spaghetti at the wall phase where you're trying a bunch of different things and nothing's really dialed in yet. You're doing it all yourself and you're learning everything like that always feels very, very complicated. This episode probably not so much for you. So I'll give you a tiny bit of advice first and that is to break it down, put it in two steps and do one piece at a time. The people. This episode really is more for those who have probably been in business a few years and you have mastered some things, but over time you've added extra stuff and extra things have come on and you've tweaked this and tweaked that and through band aiding and sticky taping together, you know, it has just become and morphed into something again that's become quite complicated. And with complication comes stress. It also generally decreases your sales because you're feeling frazzled because you know, you don't know exactly where you should be focusing your energy because you're, you know, you're pulled in a thousand different directions and nothing is clear. So you know the best businesses and I've seen behind the scenes of some, like, I'm not going to name drop, but people that I'm sure you follow and love who have really successful businesses, when you pull back the layers was running in the background is simplicity and one of the secret sources of their success. My gosh, that's a lot of s's I normally love an alliteration, but that was too many is simplicity. It's that they've been able to continue to refine and refine down rather than to add and to add and to add. So I've got three things that I want you to stop and take a minute. Like maybe if you've got some CEO time planned this week, whether you go and sit in a cafe or go for a walk or whatever it is you do, and I want you to just think on these three things, and they don't even have to be big things, but I'm sure for every one of you and for each of you will have something that can be simplified for each of these three categories. And any simplification you can make is always going to be a win. So number one, first thing that you need to sit down to look at to simplify is your messaging. So you need to make sure with your offerings, whatever they are, that you're for each offering that you at, it has one clear pain point that it's helping to solve or one clear outcome that it's helping to achieve and that that is designed for one particular person. You need to that and that messaging, that clear, refined messaging needs to be easily communicated. It needs to be on your sales pages, it needs to be on your homepages, it needs to be in your socials, it needs to be how you talk about it. So if you feel like you might have a bit of a kitchen sink course, if you, you know, if you have a program that's been running for a while and, you know, hopefully with that time, you've been able to see, like, who are the people who do get the best results from this? What do they have in common? Which are the areas that people do get these best amazing results. Now, you know, I'm not saying that you can't have other things included in your program, but just with your messaging and with that main outcome and with how you talk about it, it needs to be focused on one clear, big, powerful thing. Sure, you can chuck some extra stuff in the bonuses and we'll talk about that in a sec, but your messaging needs to be clear. It needs to be stupidly simple. It's. It needs to be easy to understand. And you need to also include in like your tagline or whatever it is that this pain point that you're helping or this outcome that you're helping people to achieve, that your program is going to help them to do it either in the simplest, the fastest, the easiest, or the most likely way possible for them to be successful, that they will find what is it you help them with, who is it your help and why, and how is your offering different, better, et cetera. So think about that with your messaging answer, just one for each and make sure that it's everywhere. The second thing you need to simplify is your actual program. Generally, the actual contents like this is almost like an annual spring clean that I would recommend that you do. Sit down, look at the content, look at how it's delivered, remove what is not essential. I don't know if you listened to the podcast episode the other week where I talked about doing a survey, but if you're not sure what is not essential, go back to that podcast episode, listen to it, and then go and send a survey to your clients and it will help you to highlight the bits that they're just not using. Because I think one thing that people don't realize when it comes to an online program, less is not less is more, not more is more. So you like, like I said with the first point, the goal of your program is not to teach them every single thing that you know about a topic. It's to help them to achieve one thing in the simplest, fastest, easiest way possible. So you want to make sure that that is reflected in how you actually teach. The third thing you need to simplify is how you sell. So over the years, and we found we kind of got stuck in this trap like launching promotions, things like that, they just get more and more complicated as you learn more strategies and tactics and you start layering them on. All of a sudden launches can be something that takes six weeks with eight weeks of pre promotion and automations and retargeting and they take months and months to set up and they don't necessarily do any better than the simple ones. So we, you know, we recently made the decision to quit launching. We did that last year and it was one of the best things we've ever done. And if you want to hear more about that, you know, check out episode 140, because I go into that in more detail. But what we found going through that process, going from spending all this time creating all these assets and setting these things up and testing all this stuff and, you know, and then just the energy that's required to run these big long, complicated things, both, you know, for me and the team, that actually when we stripped it back to what was just that, what is the simplest thing that we can do to get the outcome that we want and how can we do it in a way that is repeatable, that is semi automated. And so now we set up actually what we call Evergreen launches on top of our Evergreen Funnels. And what this means is our promotions every month take up about about three hours of work for my team and I combined versus three months. And you know, and the sales and the results are the same like it's pretty much to the, to the dollar to the number, you know. And now that we've seen how well that works, now we're looking at it and go, how can we simplify it even further so I mean you don't have to necessarily go that higher level. Although we love helping people to, you know, to quit launching to set up Evergreen launches. And if you'd like to know more about it then just head to hellofunnels co quit, get out. We've got a awesome little mini training there, a little planner that you can pop your details in and it kind of shows you exactly what that would look like for your business. Link is below but. Or you know, come and chat to us. Come, you know, DM us, whatever. We're happy to talk to you about it but either way I want you to sit down and as I said, think about these three things. How can you simplify them this year so that they actually work better so you actually make more sales then one, I said your messaging number two, actually the contents, the delivery of your program number three, how you sell it, how can you make them more simple, more powerful to have your best year yet. So we'd love to hear what you thought of this episode. Guys, if you had any aha's if you're going to be trying any of this out and if you did find this useful, we would love it if you could share it. If you could leave us a review, that is how we get the word out. That's how we help even more people and otherwise. Guys, I'll see you same time, same place for more Noyed goodness next week. Bye.
