Hello, hello guys, it's Kate here from hello Funnels and welcome to the Doing It Online podcast. Today we've got a quickie for you and that is I'm going to take you behind the scenes to the recent Mastermind event I attended in Florida with the one of the OGs of digital marketing and that is Todd Brown. And I want to share with you what is actually been my biggest takeaway and probably the biggest aha moment I took away from that event which was, you know, amazing and you know, cause I think it's something that is really, really actionable and something you can go away and think about and can apply into your businesses as well. So let's dive right on in.
This is the Doing It Online podcast with your host serial entrepreneur six and seven figure funnel strategist and super nerd Kate McKibben. Where every week we're here talking nerdy and sharing the things that actually work to help you do what you do online. But better, easier and with a ton more profit too. Are you ready? Let's do it.
Okay guys, as I mentioned, I was lucky enough a few weeks ago to fly over to Florida. I wouldn't say lucky to fly to Florida because it's a really long flight. It's literally a day on a plane. But you know, when I got there I went to an amazing event by Todd Brown which was his mastermind event. It was a room full of really, really EP big super nerdy people. These are definitely my people. I, I, I loved being there and there was, you know, I took pages and pages of notes. But there was one thing that really stood out. Well, actually two, two lessons I took away from this. Number one not related to business but is that always allow at least six hours between connecting flights because I think every single one of my flights was delayed and I was running through airports and then I, I missed my flight home and end up having to, you know, spent 24 hours at San Francisco airport which just isn't super fun. So that's lesson number one. That's a free before you but the main lesson that I learned from the actual event was around calculating and running your numbers and just how to determine your which sort of marketing strategies and tactics and offers you're going to put out into the market. So I'm a big fan. We always do this inside our programs like Ecourse Empire. At every point we have different spreadsheets and calculators to kind of, you know, do that real world check in, run the numbers, reverse engineer goals, all that stuff. Like I'm a big fan of it because I think it's really important to not just be like, oh, I think this sounds good, you know, do a bit of back of napkin kind of maths. But to actually sit down when you're planning out your goals, when you're choosing the, what particular marketing strategies and tactics you're going to use to actually sit down and go, what does this look like? What does the nitty gritty of this mean? How many clients am I going to need? How many leads am I going to need? What you know, like to actually have that sort of like that proof and then be able to go, okay, well I know here's how I can now go and achieve that. Like, I think that's really, really important. And we've always gone through this process and based these numbers on the benchmarks that we always help people to achieve. So for example, if someone is in one of our programs and we're helping them with creating a webinar at, for each point there is a benchmark, like your registration page needs to convert at this to get the tick. Your sales page needs to convert at this. Your webinar needs to convert at this. And if you're ticking these boxes, then we know that you know, once it gets into a funnel, how that's then go perform and that's then going to be a successful offer. And the, the little gold nugget that Todd actually shared with me was that, well, yes, that is obviously really important. And to do it, you know, to know what your important key benchmarks are and to be you're optimizing for that said to be able create an offer or a marketing campaign or anything when you run those numbers, as well as running it for what it should look like when it's working, you need to also run it for worst case scenario and have the numbers still stack up. Like if you can have a campaign, an offer, et cetera, that is still going to be profitable, that is still going to let you, you hit your goals and your targets and everything when things don't go how they should. So you know, if your sales page is only converting at 50% of what it should and you're still going to hit those numbers, then you have like a golden offer, like an offer, like we call them hells yes offers. But this is like next level offers and that's what you want to be aiming for because that means that you are going to have such a solid foundation that you are going to be, excuse the French, kind of like unfuck with the ball because things can go wrong. Your ads can mess up. The cost of your ads can go through the roof. There could be some other thing. And you're still going to be hitting the numbers that you need to hit because your offer is just that good. So it's kind of like this switching the mindset of aiming for good to aiming for great, which I think, or I'm all fan for or like remove perfectionism but you know, always going, how can we set ourselves up for success? The best. And by actually taking the time to run these numbers and making sure that the things you are putting your effort and attention behind are the things that are just so good that even if 50% of stuff goes wrong, they're still going to win. That is going to give you such a strong foundation for your business, for your office, for everything. So that was a huge, huge aha for me and one where I've immediately gone and updated all of our spreadsheets to reflect and I think can be really powerful when you sit back and look at your own business. Like, first of all, even if maybe I know some of you listening, the idea of benchmarks and reverse engineering goals and stuff like that, like that might be a whole new idea for you. And if you do ever need help with that, this is what we do inside Ecourse Empire. Like I said, we've got spreadsheets, we've got calculators for absolutely every step. But to take it that step forward, that step further and not just be let's make our plans for, you know, the days when it's sunny. Let's make our plans for the day when it's raining and storming and hailing and still make it a success. That is going to make a huge, huge difference to your business. So I hope this has been as big of an aha moment for you guys as it was for me. As if you ever need any help with this, please come and check out ecosysempire. That's what we do. We would love, love, love to support you for creating an that is just that damn good that you can worst case scenario and still be super profitable.
