Hey guys, it is Kate here from hellofunnels and welcome back to the Doing It Online podcast. I hope you've been having an amazing week and I want to talk nerdy with you guys now about AI and some of the totally non scary. I promise no Terminators involved ways that you can use it in your business right now. So if you're ready to geek out on this, grab a pen and let's dive right, right on you.
This is the Doing It Online podcast with your host serial entrepreneur, 6 and 7 figure funnel strategist and super nerd Kate McKibben. Where every week we're here talking nerdy and sharing the things that actually work to help you do what you do online. But better, easier and with a ton more profit too. Are you ready? Let's do it.
Okay guys, so I am assuming by now you have all heard of the tool chat GPT and on top of that you've probably also noticed the rise not of the Terminator robots out to, you know, destroy us all, well, at least not yet anyway, but the rise of the crazy amount of new apps and tools available to be able to to use in your business. And I've been trying a bunch of them. I'd say like 80% of them are mediocre at best for now. There's an awful lot of people out there who are just like, just gotta be first in market, just gotta get something else. It's not perfect. Also, the actual tech behind like the whole the ChatGPT, the AI that the OpenAI that's actually built on is changing and improving so rapidly that you know, I think anything that's getting built now is gonna be vastly different six months down the track. But having said that, there are some real gems out there and definitely probably some more gems coming. And there's even if you are not wanting to go, you know, all in and have a robot write your emails or your content or anything like that, there are still some great tools that are not scary, are not hard to use, are not expensive, that you can start adding into your business to just make your life easier, to make your current processes flow faster. And I'm going to share some of our favorites with you guys right now. And just as a little sidebar before we dive on in, if you didn't, if you don't follow us over at hellofunnels on Instagram, go do that now. We'll link to it below and go and check out our AI image generation gone wrong post. It's from a few weeks ago. It's actually quite hilarious. I really. The idea behind it was that I really wanted to have some photos of everyone on our team that looked like they'd been taken in the same photo shoot so we could use them on our website. Because my team is all around Australia and then also all around the world, so the likelihood of us all being in the same place at the same time anytime soon anyway, it was pretty slim. And while some of us had some professional type photos, they were all different lighting and colors and whatever. I'm like, I just want something that looks nice and uniform. And I found this tool called Headshot Pro, which kind of took people's photos and then like recreated it to look like a professional headshot. And you could pick certain backgrounds and certain sort of clothing colors and styles and whatnot. I'm like, well this is clearly perfect, except that it wasn't and the results are hilarious. Now some people's worked out really well, others not so much. So go check. Yeah, go check out that post anyway, that little, little AI gone awry sidebar. But let's dive on now into how the AI is working well and some tools that you can use to and how you can use them to really help to speed things up and be more just efficient in your business. So one of the basic ways and one of the I think that the best way is almost to get started dipping your toe into AI is using it to help you come up with ideas. So ideation. So anytime you are sitting down and going, oh, I've got to create a lead magnet, what should I call it? Ask AI. If you're wanting to plan out your content for or your next sequence, six blog post episodes or you know, trying to come up with subject lines that people are going to open, you can ask AI and usually I get it to give me about 15 at a time. So I might say, you know, come up with, you know, 15 short catchy and intriguing or short catchy and cheeky titles for a blog post about X. And it will it'll give you a bunch and like 12 out of the 15 are pure trash. But there're usually a couple of good ones within there and if they're not, you can always tweak re ask and things like that. And the same with, you know, trying to come with names and titles for things like maybe, you know, you want to use a particular key word in your name but you can't think of what comes up with so you can ask it to give you a two to four word long course Name or lead magnet name for something about this that includes the word this and see what it comes up with. And it just, it just helps you to speed up that process because otherwise, you know, we can drive ourselves crazy trying to come up with names for things, knowing that full well, like a week and a half from now, probably pop into our head in the shower, but who's got the time for that? So it just speeds up that whole process. Another one, that, which I love and again is totally newbie friendly, is actually getting it to help you repurpose and reuse your content. So if you had a launch email sequence, for example, and it crushed it and you've got another launch coming up and you're like, oh God, I've got to write more emails, you can take those emails and you can just ask ChatGPT to rewrite them. So you have the. Because like, let's be real, the structure of your launch sequence are usually you have certain emails going out at certain times. And yes, some of them will need to be fresh. Like if you're going to share a relatable personal story or maybe you want to update the stories that you or the client testimonials and things that you shared, you can get them to do that too. But those other posts that are maybe more about just sharing the details, ask answering FAQs, those more standard emails that you roll out every time, you don't want it to be exact same email every time though, so it stays fresh, you can copy and paste them in and just ask it to write you another version and in seconds it is done and that can save you so, so, so much time. Another again, this is now getting slightly more advanced, but if you are okay and by the way, both of those two and this one, I just using a tool called ChatGPT, which you can get totally for free. Although I do recommend if you are going to start playing with this, investing in the paid version, it's not expensive, it does just give you some better outputs and faster processing time and also more higher number of asks and questions that you can do in a certain time period as well. So this next one is actually getting chatgpt to SEO optimize your blog posts. So say for example, like what we do here is we have a podcast episode like this one. We write up a summary of that episode and we post it with the links to the podcast on our website, on our blog to also tick off, tick off the benefit of hopefully attracting people via Google so the people in our email list will see it the people who subscribe to our YouTube channel, to our podcast, they'll see it. Obviously we want to get in front of some more eyeballs. So if you're creating content, you may as well make it work as hard for you as possible and. But not everyone knows how to write an SEO optimized blog post from some content. But guess who does? ChatGPT. So a really simple prompt is that you can first of all ask ChatGPT to come up with some related keywords for you. Or if you've done your own keyword research and you have a keyword that you want to use, just use that. Then next you would just ask, you would sit down and write out. And it doesn't even have to be. Well, it's the other thing. You don't also don't have to worry about making it the shiniest, best version of whatever your blog post is going to be. But write, write your blog post like how you would do it. Make sure you got all the information you want to be covered. Then you're just going to ask Chat GPT to rewrite it and to make sure that it is SEO optimized for the keyword and tell it what the keyword is and it will automatically rewrite it for you now. And if you're not happy with the tone, then you can either take it away and tweak it yourself or you know, do a bit of back and forth revision, ask it to change up the style. It's one of the things that we teach inside our program is how to actually brief your bot so that it sounds like you as much as possible from the get go. But you know, those are sort of more advanced things. If you just get it to rewrite it and then you go back in and tweak the tone a little bit, you then have basically the output that you've got from paying someone a couple hundred bucks to do your SEO optimization essentially for free. So. And it takes seconds. It's a process you're already doing. You're just adding that extra tick at the end to hopefully drive some more related traffic. So again, win, win. Okay, next is. So that's all the words that we've been kind of focusing on, really. Next is video and audio. So there are some great tools out there which help to make your video and audit audio editing really, really fast, efficient and easy. Much easier than what we used to have to do when we were like dragging it into, you know, even into using like good old, what's it called on Apple. I'm Trying to see it on my screen. Good old imovie or something like that. You know, this is just next level easy. So there's a tool called Descript, not free. I'm pretty sure there is a freebie level that you can play with though, and that just has a few really genius things which make it so much quicker. So first of all, you can automatically remove all your ums and butts and you know those sort of pause words, which I use a lot. I know, but I kind of. I don't care if it's. I want it to sound like a human, but you can automatically take those out. So. So if you were doing a podcast, you would literally click a link, remove all of those, and all of a sudden you're sounding a lot more confident, professional. It also makes it. I've just. Now that I've started talking about this, I can't help but hear all the ums that I say. So sorry, guys. You can also use it to really quickly and easily add captions to cut down into little segments. So if you're wanting to repurpose things for maybe for like reels or for YouTube, for Shorts or TikTok or whatever other platforms you're using, you can do that simply. Like, it is one of the nicest ones. The reason that it is so easy to use is that it's actually you do the editing in the text. So you upload the video, it transcribes the video for you and really accurately. It's probably one of the better ones I've seen. I've had some nightmares with transcriptions because I have a non us accent. And so it can come up with some hilarious things. But this one is actually been really, really accurate. Probably one of the best ones I've seen. But you can actually do your video editing by just copying and pasting bits of the text. So you go, oh, I like this sentence, or I don't like this sentence. You delete the sentence and it's removed from the video. Like it just chops it out straight away. So it's really like just as far as a tool and being able to use it super easy. Like you're going to. It's going to make your life a lot easier. And yeah, I just so easiest to do that you edits in the first place and get everything ready. And then if you're wanting to chop things down to repurpose to publish on other platforms, easy again, if you're wanting to kind of go that next level and if you are really all about Doing that repurposing. Then there's a bunch of other tools out there like Content Fries Vidjo. We'll link to them below. VEED and a few repurpose IO where you upload your video into them and it automatically pulls out snippets and adds the captions and you kind of set up your template of what you want it to look like. I've played with a few of those. I think they are good. I think give them a couple of months and they'll be even better. Because just some of the snippets that it automatically grabs aren't necessarily the snippets that I would have used. But it's pretty easy to jump in and shuffle things around. But where it really starts getting clever is like with repurposed IO is that it can then also schedule everything for you create. It just kind of does all of the stuff. So if you're finding it hard to be able to create content and publish content on so many different channels and so many different platforms, but you are creating like some kind of video, long form video content every week, all of a sudden the processing time after you've created that video or you just hand it off to like to a VA or someone on your team has just shrunk. So like you could probably get it all like 10, 15 different snippets out onto different platforms and all scheduled in probably in less than like, I don't know, an hour, maybe like even 30 minutes depending on how fast they. So it's kind of, it's brought it down to that to be that much faster of a process. So highly, highly recommend if you do video to check that out and then the final tool, and this is one that to be honest, it hasn't worked well for us because of our accents, because most of us are Australian. And even though I believe a lot of them are built on the same backend, it does seem that some of the tools are better at translating accents than others. But there's a tool out there called Otter AI and you can set it up so that anytime you start a meeting, like it will tell. Like it can see that there's a meeting in your calendar and it will can just start recording for you. And basically it can take the minutes of your meeting, so it can take a full transcription of your meeting. It then even can be set to create a summary of that at the end which you can then share as the minute so you don't have to have someone like if you're having team meetings, you're meeting with contractors or whatever it is, and you want to make sure that nothing gets forgotten, but no one wants to be sitting there and actually taking the notes because you're having an actual discussion. It can kind of come in and almost be your secretary, your assistant. And as I said, as long as you don't have a strong Australian accent, I've heard it. It's also not great for Texan accents, but if you've got a pretty.
Middle of the line, I don't even know how you describe it, a pretty stereotypical US or UK accent, you should be fine, but give it a try anyway. It's got a great free plan. And yeah, so hopefully, guys, you have taken at least one way to kind of dip your toe into the big bad world of AI from this episode. I would love to know what that is. Or if you have some other tools that you've discovered and just freaking love, please share them. I am more than happy to go down the rabbit hole of playing with each and every single one of them because I am a nerd and I love this stuff. But either way, guys, thank you so much for hanging out with me today. I hope you've got a ton out of this episode and I can't wait to see you all next week. Bye.
