Hishem Azzouz breaks down how his recruitment business lost £400,000 in a single month. Headcount, LinkedIn Recruiter spend, software licenses, and office costs (Austin location running $30,000 monthly) ate through the budget fast.
I think in February we lost like £400 grand. That's not good. I've never lost money before.
Because headcount, salaries aside, what were some of your big costs? We hear LinkedIn, the lot, offices. What did some of those big costs look like?
So I actually think a lot of the tools that we used, we used to like share licenses, right? We got a little bit cute and creative with it at that point. I just get the license, everyone has a license, like do what you want, we'll get— we'll have that, we'll have this. A LinkedIn recruiter, like so expensive, obviously.
So that was up there in terms of cost-wise, probably the highest.
Away from office costs, office costs collectively will add up to more. Yeah. I mean, we're on average $15,000 to $20,000 a month. Austin's double that. But LinkedIn recruitment, God, we spent hundreds of thousands of dollars.
