Great contractors explain their work in plain language and tie it to concrete results. A non-technical stakeholder should understand what you did and why it mattered enough to tell their manager.

What makes an average contractor to a great one? If they can articulate what they actually do in layman's terms, then usually that's going to make a big difference. I find the best contractors that I've ever worked with, they can say they've, you know, they implemented this, this is what the outcome was. They can put something tangible behind what they've done in projects. And if they can articulate that in a way that actually I understand as someone who's not technical, I can't you know, code or anything like that, but I understood, and then I can actually articulate that to a manager. Usually that ends up being the, the better people.
