Dream Conference -Pastor Hope Carpenter

This is a spoken sermon by Pastor Hope Carpenter (Dream Conference) centered on Philippians 3:12. Carpenter teaches that the chief aim of Christian life is to become like Christ — godlike character is the primary goal rather than material success. Using Paul as an example (single-mindedness in prison), she urges listeners to forget the past, press toward the prize (the upward call of God), keep close to God daily, and be prepared to surrender much. She gives practical illustrations (athletes, ducks, plants needing frost), warns against complacency and worldly aims, leads a corporate response/worship moment, and closes with a practical assignment: replace material items on personal "dream boards" with godly characteristics (fruit of the Spirit).
Chapters
Philippians 3. Go to verse 12. And this is the Apostle Paul speaking here. He says, not that I've already attained it or am already perfected, but I press on. Why, That I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me. What did he lay hold of me mean? Christ Jesus laying hold of me? It's what he did for me. What is that? That's my salvation. That's my peace. That's my healing. That's my joy. That's my perfection. That's my redemption. That's my prosperity. That's my sound mind. He's already made a way. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended. I hadn't laid hold of this yet. He's saying, I do not count myself to have apprehended. But one thing I do, forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal. For the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Lord, I pray that you bless this. This reading of your Word and help me to teach it, Lord, like you taught it to me. In Jesus name. This is the Apostle Paul, I said. And he's letting us see in these two Scriptures the secret to his own life. He's letting us see the secret to his own life. And he's telling us what made him the kind of Christian that he is. Okay, he's an old man writing this. And he's sitting in prison. He's in prison saying this, and he's still pressing on, sitting in prison. Now, see, if you'd have locked me up, I might have done gave up. You hear me? If I was sitting in prison and rats was running all over everywhere. And I got to use a bathroom right here. See, I might be questioning God for a minute. What about you? But Paul is sitting in prison, and he's giving us a snippet of how he's made it and how he's still determined to live his life even when he's in chains, when he's in a bad condition, when things are not going right, when all hell has broke loose in his life. This is what he says. He says I have a wise obliviousness to what's going on around me. Come on now, somebody. And a great anticipation of what's ahead. And a strenuous concentration, and he's sitting in chains. Paul's been through it. Listen, he ain't driving a Lincoln and got a Rolex on his arm. You hear me? He don't have a private jet. He don't have a Gucci bag. He's sitting in prison and he's saying, telling us a snippet, giving us a snippet of how he's lived his career, Christian life and what it took to get him like this. He said, I've got an obliviousness to everything that's going on around me. I have a great anticipation of what's ahead of me. And he said, and I got a strenuous concentration. And these are the things that contribute to the success of his life. And those things can translate to the success of anybody's life, anybody's daily life, even in your trade. Doctors, lawyers, musicians, artists, they all know that they cannot be great without habits and practices, certain habits and certain practices. And see, most of us Christians think we can be good Christians. We think we can be great Christians without certain practices and certain habits. Let's study this. Paul first distinguishes here two things. There's a mark and then there's a prize. He aims at the one for the sake of the other. He aims at one. He says, I aim at the mark. Why do I aim at the mark? So that I can obtain the prize. Right. So you get the crown if you win the beauty pageant. Right. You get the trophy if your team wins the tournament. Okay, the mark. What he was aiming toward was Christ's whole purpose in redeeming us. Okay? Now this is teaching you. This is teaching, not shouting at you. I'm teaching you. What is that? What is Christ's purpose for redeeming us? Number one, the production of godlike and God pleasing character. Look at somebody and say, no. I feel like it's going to be tough tonight. It's going to be tough. She ain't going to tell me God's going to drop my dream out of disguise. She ain't going to do it. And I know her. She ain't going to do it. The purpose was the production of godlike and God.
Please.
Character for this alone. For godlike character and God pleasing character for this alone. God created heaven and earth. He created times and seasons. He created fish and birds and goats. He created. He created everything that we know as the life we live in, as the earth, as the world. Good days, bad days, joys and sorrows and death and life and divorce and marriage. All of these things, all of these happenings in our life were all for God to produce godlike character. The discipline of life is set in. Let your brain think about that a minute. Okay? God produced all of these things so that he could put you in it. And then he could produce Himself in you. He produced all of these things that we know as the earth and the world and life so that he could then produce something in you. See, we were not born. We were not created and born into time to work 9 to 5. We were not created and born in time to get married and to have three kids and a dog, to pay bills and to drive a nice car and to get all these things. We want the house with the picket fence. That is not why we were born. That is not why he created us. God created the heavens and the earth and times and seasons so that his character could be formed in you. It's why we live. It's why we were redeemed. It's why Jesus Christ came and he suffered and he died so that we could be made like him for no other reason. That's why God's spirit was poured out into the world and that the world was created and see everything else around us. Everything else around you is just scaffolding. You know what scaffolding is? You ever seen a building being built? And they got all of the scaffolding all around it, where they go up and they paint and they do all their work. See, we are the building being built by Him. And everything else is what God uses as scaffolding to build me. God intends to make me like Himself. We weren't born to have a ministry. We weren't born to be an apostle. We weren't born to have our awesome family. We weren't born to have our Boaz and to own our business. We were born to look like our daddy. We were born to be representatives on the earth of Jesus Christ. This is the aim. This is the mark that is set before us. When and if we accept this aim, such blessedness that comes to our life, the cars, the money, the houses, the things, all those other things that we feel focus on the other things that we think are our aim, the dreams that we aim for, the things we fix our eyes and our hearts on and our affections on. And then we still are miserable. We're walking around dead men. The scripture says, you're just walking around dead men. Revelation 3. In the Laodicean church, the Laodiceans were so rich, it was a medical community and they were very smart. And this is what they said to the Laodiceans. He said, you think you're rich and in need of nothing, he said, but on the contrary, he said, you're naked, you're poor, you're pitiful, and you're blind, and you're in need of ASAP because you're focusing on the wrong things, he said. You think you're rich and you got all this stuff together, he said, but you are not. You're walking around dead men. There would be so much fewer. I thought about this today. There would be so much fewer mysteries in life. You know the instances in our life where we sit back and go, I can't believe.
Those.
You know, those. Those astonishments and say, why? Why? Why this, why that? If we kept before us in our mind that all these things and all these happenings, the ups and the downs, the good and the bad, the joys and the sorrows, the kids going crazy, the trouble in your house, all of those things were not coming to you to make you happy or to make you sad or to get you depressed. But it was to produce something in you. What if it all was coming? To be able to produce something in you through them, through the sorrow, through the joy, through the blessings. The intention and the sole purpose was to make me like Jesus. So if you're taking notes, number one, we got to make Christ our aim. He has got to be the aim in this race of life. He's got to be my aim. I read this the other day. Some plants require frost to bring out their savor. How many of you know sometime we need a little sorrow in our life to test and to produce godlike qualities. Some plants have to have frost to create a rich savor. See, but we don't want that. We don't want pain, trouble and trials. We rebuke all that. And there would be fewer mysteries and fewer breakdowns and fewer backsliding. If we made God's aim our aim and press through all the secrets, situations and issues of life to realize it, how would our lives look different? How would we look? And how different would the focus be of our aiming if we really recognized what we were created for? The Bible says we were created for what? For his pleasure. Nothing else. We were created for his pleasure. How would we look? Why are we here in the first place? We use this one life that God gave us. And James said, this life is but a vapor. How many of you can say, I feel it. I know it. It has gone by way too fast already. And we use this one life that God's given us to make money. We go crazy trying to make money to cultivate our own interest, the things we want to do. I want to do this and go here and do that and gratify all these earthly desires. And all the while, the Great aim which should stand out supreme and clear, completely forgotten. The great aim, the purpose. It doesn't matter if we got nice clothes and nice cars and big old houses. If we're mean as the devil and we don't give and we don't love each other and we're selfish and we're rude. What am I here for? Suppose you make a fortune, then what? What if you get the position you're striving for, then what? Hear me. There's one mark, only one. Listen. And every arrow that does not hit that target was wasted and spent in vain. Every arrow that you shoot for that does not hit that supreme target is a wasted arrow. Bible says, what does it profit you? What does it profit you in the bank account of heaven? What does it profit you to gain the whole world and lose your soul, lose your mind, have no joy, have no peace, have no contentment, have terrible relationships? What does it profit you if you got all of it and you lose your soul? Paul said this one thing, Satan solamente this one thing I do, this one thing, he said, I am single minded. He said that's how I sat here in chains and I could praise a prison wall open. He said that's how I did it. That's how I could be this joyful and have this much power. Because this one thing, this one, one thing I do, I've pressed toward the mark of the high call of God in Christ Jesus. Everything in your life, think about your life, everything in your life is there to point you toward this target. To point you toward this target. Your kids, they are not here to drive you crazy. They're here to drive you to your knees. Your husband, he's not here to get on your last nerve. He is here for the Lord to teach us how to be selfless and to serve. Your job. Your situations, your seasons, your hurts and your pains. They're not here to make you backslide. They're here to draw you closer to the cross and to see that he's the only one who can satisfy your soul. He's the only one who can heal your broken places. He's the only one who can come and cleanse, clean up your mind. Drugs don't give you a break. Alcohol don't give you a break. The presence of God is what gives you a break. All of this for the molding. The molding and the shaping of our character in the shape of what pleases him. Remember, the Bible's just not a bunch of stories. We are the potter who is the clay we're the clay. He's the potter. We are the clay. Life is to mold us and to shape us to be like Jesus. And I'm telling you what the potter. You start rebelling on that will of light, he will smack you down and he will start all over again. Because I promise you, his one dream for you and his one intent for you is to make you like him. And he will let life come and do what it has to do to get us to where we need to be. Life's crazy. Life is crazy, isn't it? It's hard. Life is hard. It's not easy. None of us tiptoe through the tulips. Not one person dropped a grape in my mouth this weekend. Nobody. I ironed my own clothes, drove my own self here. You understand? Life's crazy. We all got families. We all got bills. We all got cellulite. We all eat too much. We all got habits and we all got things. But our main focus above all else. And it's possible. It is possible. I promise you, it's possible. You say, well, it's just too hard. I just got too much going on. I mean, my husband. You just don't know. You don't live with my husband and you don't fight what I fight at work and my kids, I'm a single mom and shama lama ding dong. But it's possible. It is possible. If you do two things, look at somebody and say, just two things, two little things, two things we can do. Two things, right? Number one, keep ourselves close to God. Okay, that sounds real easy, right? Keep ourselves close to God. That's intentional discipline. An intentional, disciplined life where he is first. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same daily. Keeping ourselves close to God that nothing comes before Him. And number two, be prepared to surrender much. Keep yourself close to God and be prepared to surrender much. Laying down your will is not an easy thing. Because God knows we all want our right to be right. I'm a grown woman. I'm 47 years old. Who are you talking to? Laying down our wills, our purpose, our fancies, our hopes and our plans in his hands. Asking him to help us that we don't lose sight of the harbor light that's ahead when all the winds and the waves come beating up against our boat. That we don't lose sight of the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I did a little study on some ducks. I know that's stupid, but. But if you could talk to Them and they could talk back. They would tell you that the form is most likely to give them maximum motion with the least amount of effort. Their form, Their form. That's true in about anything, right? If you're an athlete, if you lift weights, my husband lifts weights. I go in there and try to do it about once a year. And he says, hope your form don't do that. You're going to hurt your back. And I'm like, oh, I'm going over here to the cafe. But they would tell you that form is important to give you maximum motion with the least amount of effort. And if you're not hitting the mark, if you're not hitting the mark, if you keep messing up, if your relationships stink, if your marriage stinks, if raising kids is just falling apart on you, if you go from job to job to job, if you keep going from church to church to church, you know, well, number one, it's probably not the church. It's probably you. If you can't find one you like, if you keep losing money, you keep getting it and you keep losing it. If you're not hitting the mark, you might need to examine your form. How and where are you aiming your focus? How are you aiming it and where are you aiming it? Are you aiming it on the wrong thing? Are you aiming it on your job? Are you aiming it on finding a man? Are you aiming it on your house that you've dreamed of, your clothes that you want to wear, or what people think about you in the community? Oh, I got to go join this club, and I got to join that club, and I got to be in the high society of Greenville. And I got. Everybody's got to know who I am when I walk into the restaurant. Is that your form and is that your aim? Paul said this one thing. He said this one thing I do. And see the difference between the amateur and the artist is the one that pursues the art at intervals by spurts are the one who makes it their life business. That's the difference in the amateur and the professional. It's the one who pursues it in intervals and spurts every now and then, or the one who does it every day, all day. Do you think Michael Jordan just picked up a basketball one day and walked onto the Lakers? Who? Bulls. See, I don't know. Sorry, Michael, I know you're watching.
But.
Do you think he did that just in one day? It took a lifetime. A lifetime. There are so many great amateur Christians who pursue it in spurts, starts, spurts and starts. They Come to the women's conference, they get jacked up for Jesus and they come for about a month, and then you don't see them anymore. Great amateur Christians, if you want to serve God after his pattern, you. You have to make it your life passion has to be your life passion. It has to be your business. And giving it the same attention, the same concentration, the same unwavering energy, the same that you do your trade. How much training did you get for your trade, for what you do? How many conferences did you go to? How much school did you have to get? How much investment did you have to make? How much reading and how much studying and how much money did you have to pay to take the test? And then we complain about a $39 registration. Come on. How much did you invest in your trade? How early do you get up to be on time at your trade? But you can't be on time time for Bible study, and you can't get up and be on time to meet with Jesus when he's asked you to get up and be on time. But we want God to sprinkle dust out of the heavens over our life and poppies to pop up all over our path. Since I've been through what I've been through, people who knew me then and know me now, they think they know I'm so different. I've even been. Been called. Well, do you, you know, fanatical. Do you have to be that straight hope now, do you have to be that much? This is my philosophy. This is my interpretation. Be a fanatic and get what you aim for. How about that? Be a fanatic and get what you aim for with this attitude. With this attitude. Whether I eat or whether I drink or whatsoever I do, may I do it all to the glory of God. And this is. This is something else Paul said. He said, and you got to do it with wise forgetfulness, forgetting those things that are behind me. Help us, Jesus, help us, God. Just lay your hand on your head and say, help me, God, Help me, God, if I got bitterness. Help me Lord, if I got unforgiveness, Help me, God, if I got revenge in my heart, Help me, God, Help me, God to forget. Help me, God to forget. Forgetting those things that are behind me. And the art of forgetting will bring such peace to your life. When Paul said this, he was comparing it to a runner. He was talking about a runner, and he was talking about the runner who has no time to cast his eye behind him because he's running so fast forward toward the mark to get the prize. He has no time to cast his eyes over his shoulders to see where he came from, or to see who was talking about him, or to see who was coming up behind him, or to see what was going on back here with his family. He said, I ain't got time for that. We're to forget.
Why?
So that you can strengthen your concentration. We remember only to cultivate in us an awareness. Be so careful to press toward the prize. That's why we remember. Remembering the lessons that you learned, remembering what tripped you up. Say, I ain't doing that again. Come up on it again. You say, I ain't going that route again. We can't let our failure paralyze our hope. We got to embrace it. Lessons learned so that we can press harder to be like Jesus. What about past successes? You remember them for thankfulness, for thankfulness only. But you forget them if they make you feel like you have arrived somewhere. See, we can get to a place called good and we can camp out there. And we can never achieve the great thing that God has for us. Because, you know, we used to be a drug addict. Well, I ain't a drug addict no more. So I'm good. I used to be a hoe. I ain't a hoe no more. I'm good.
I'm good.
Look how far I've come.
Geez.
We get free from something and we think we're done. We progress a little and we don't progress anymore because we get comfortable. We never reach that place called there in the Spirit. We never here on earth arrive at sainthood, Godliness. We don't. It's progressive in our life. I should look more like Jesus today than I did yesterday. I should look more like Jesus today than I did last week. It's a progressive revelation. It's a progressive sanctification in my life. And it's what you run your race for. It's why we are in this life. That's the only reason. It's why we're running this race. And lastly, you pursue this aim with a wise and eager reaching forward. A strain. How many of you watched any of the Olympics or have watched the Olympics? Have you ever watched kids run in a race? Have you seen them ever look back while they're racing? And when they get close to the finish line, what do they do? The Apostle Paul here used a very graphic word. And the literal word means reaching out over, like this. Reaching out over. And in this picture, the runner throws his whole body forward and his hand is extended. Extended and his eye is reaching even farther than his hand because he sees it. He's like, I'm almost there. I'm almost there. What if we ran like that every day?
Whoo.
That's how we're supposed to run this race. Every day. Todos los dias. Every day. I'm getting good. So that means this. We are to live our lives in such a way that no matter what happened last year, last week, yesterday, this morning, five minutes ago, the phone call you got the good or the bad, that we are in eager expectation of the prize that's ahead of us. Clear recognition, eager desire. As Christians, our eyes have to be fixed on the prize, not the good and the bad and the ups and downs of life. We should have the most powerful vision to keep us pressing on the vision of what he did for you, for your salvation, for your freedom, for your peace, for your joy, for your health. But see, we take our eyes off of that aim and we start looking at what's around us. And it slows us down. It slows our feet down, slows us down to even. Sometimes we fall down. Takes time to get back up. Jesus is my aim. And this is what God told me. He said, I want you to go in there and I want you to wake up the people who are slumbering and who are sleeping and who have been walking around like dead men and call them to rise up out of their sleep and out of their slumber. I didn't come in here to whisper and touch you and say, wake up. Come on, let me scratch your back, pet you. It's time to get up. I'm going to do you like my daddy did. Hope, I'm going to get the belt out if you don't get up. Honey, I got sleep walking to the toilet, peeing on the floor. Wipe the sleep from your eyes. Get yourself together, brush your teeth. Shake that dust and that past out of yourself. Why you letting that guy who left you drag you down? He's not your aim. He was never intended to be your prize. Why are you letting that job that you lost get you so defeated? Don't you know who your provider is? Why are you letting those teenagers get you all frazzled and worried and staying up at night? Cast your care on the Lord. Don't you know he loves them more than you love them? Don't you know you're not your children's savior? It's all sandpaper. It's all fertilizer to grow you up and to get those edges off of you. That's not supposed to be be there to make you look like Jesus. And all you got to do is keep stretching yourself out and keep pressing your feet forward to Jesus, who is your goal and who is your prize. And let all those other things perfect your character. Listen, the years can't take anything from you, which was not your gain in the first place. Somebody needs to tweet that. The years cannot take anything from you. That was not your gain in the first place. Somebody better shout about that now. Somebody thought things been ripped from them here, there, and it wasn't your game. Life's not designed to weaken your energy and dampen your hope and dim your confidence. Jesus knows what you need to make you like him. That's why we spank our own children. That's why we take our children off the playground and put them in time out and make them sit and watch everybody else play. Why? Because we're good parents. We're trying to teach them a lesson. Well, he's a good, good. He knows what we need to make us like him. And then at last, when we reach the mark. We gonna reach the mark. We gonna reach the mark. Somebody needs to shout, I'm gonna reach the mark. Come help or high water. I'm gonna reach the mark. And when we reach the mark, when you touch it, then you'll find a crown placed on your head which is called the crown of this life. The crown of life. You made it through this life. When you reach the mark and you get it and you cross, then you find the crown that's placed on your head called the crown of life. And to those people who receive it, those people who have run, people who have pressed, people who have fought and finished. God's got so much for us. Yes, he's got your are his dreams. He's wanting you to wake up and dream again. He's wanting you to live life to the fullest. But it's not going to happen until you get this down pat. Until he is your first aim. Until you go back to your first love. Till you fall in love with Jesus. Just Jesus. Just Jesus. Just Jesus. Not what he gives you. Just Jesus. Not what he's going to bless you with. Just Jesus. Just what he did for you. Till you go back. Till you fall in love with Jesus. We've been given tools. Tools this weekend. Dr. Cindy Trims. She said, eliminate the negative in your life. Check. Even if it's people. Eliminate the negative in your life and change your atmosphere. Get rid of the things Pastor Ron told us that was Birthed out of rebellion. We've created a lot of messes in our life. Get rid of the things that were birthed in your life out of rebellion. Get rid of the things that you're bound to that are not God's purpose for you. Then realize who you are. You are God's dream. That's why you were created. No eye has seen, no ear has heard. God's plan for your life is so much bigger than you could ever imagine. We talked to Marilyn Hickey back here in the back today at lunch, and she said God didn't even call me till I was 42 years old. She said, and I would have never dreamed, she said I was a schoolteacher. She said I was teaching Spanish, she said I was a schoolteacher, she said, and God called me at 42. I would have never dreamed I would have stepped my foot on every continent, every nation in this world and winning millions to Jesus. And she's still doing it at 85 years old. Listen, you're not dreaming big enough. When are we going to get serious about loving Jesus and selling out to God and doing whatever he asks us so that he can use us.
Now?
How will you run? How will you run when you leave this awesome dream conference, when you go back home and you see him scratching his belly and rubbing his feet.
And.
All them youngins homework? You gotta go back to that job you hate? How will you run? How will you live to reach the prize? I've decided that I'm going to follow Jesus. I've decided I'm just sold out to Jesus. Whether it's popular, whether I can't go places anymore. People don't want to hang out with me because I ain't fun no more. The blessedness that I experience in my.
Life.
The peace and the joy and the contentment of just sitting in my home. The rest that's in my soul that I don't need a tv, I don't need a program to watch. I don't have to hang out with people. I don't have to go eat lunch with people three times a week. I don't even know what's on tv. I don't know the new restaurants in Greenville. I'm content with K and W and Cracker Barrel. I really like it. And I'm not embarrassed when I walk in there. The blessedness that I have found of surrendering my life to the One who made me. And I ask him every day, jesus, make me like you. And when I mess up and when I say an ugly word, or when I have a bad dog, he breaks.
Me.
And he loves me right back. And I brush the dust off my knees and I get up and if I can lay down at night. And I have pleased him and I've made him happy and I've made him proud. I don't care what you think about me. I used to care. I used to care. Oh, but I was tormented in my mind. Tormented. I had no rest for my soul. There was no rest in my soul. Can ask my husband. I am so content to sit on my couch and be with my family, stay in my pajamas, read the Bible, read a chapter out of a book. We got praise and worship playing in our house all day, every day. My soul is at rest. And I used to think, God, what have I got to give up? This is crazy. Like, this crazy, fanatical people, they're weird. I had no idea how much joy they had and. No, I had how much peace they have. And I want that for you. I want that for you. Because I know the striving. I know the striving. I've never been so blessed. I mean, it's even hard. I mean, Ron will try to take me sometime to go shopping in the mall, and I'll be like. He's like, what can I buy you? And I'm like, I don't know of anything I want, girl, five years ago, honey, I'd have broke the bank. You hear me? I'd have broke the bank trying to fill those holes. And now if I get something, it's just like whipped cream, like icing on the cake. I want that for you. I want that for you. And it can happen. You can have it. You can have it. Live close to God and be prepared to surrender much. If he touches it, let go of it. He says, no, no, no. If he touches it, it's not your best. Not as best for you, anyway. He's got something so much better. And tonight, I want all the people who say, I'm ready to run like this. I want you to come and squeeze up here as far as you can get. And I'm gonna pray for you. And I want my praise team and I want my band to come see this. I can't lay hands on you and make you run like this. But you can come down here as a sign saying, jesus, you see me, Here I am. And he's gonna remember. He's gonna remember you stood down here. And he's gonna give you the grace. He's gonna give you the grace. Focus on one day At a time. That's how I live. You can ask anybody who helps me. Ms. Becky helps me. She's my assistant. And she'll come to me like this. This whole few weeks of women's conference, and then she'll come to me with a Dominican question. And what do I do? Becky, not right now. It can wait. I'm single minded right here. I'm focused. Right here. One day at a time. Come on, just squeeze. Ooh. You know what I want? I want you up on the stage, too, behind me. I want great pictures.
Come.

Forgetting all those things, the good, the bad and the ugly and reaching for to those things that are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call. In God, in Christ. All right, I'm gonna give you an assignment. You ready? I know a lot of secular companies and secular businesses. I want you to have a dream board. Right? Dream boards. I want you to go home and I want you to take down every car and every house and every piece of clothing and every diamond and every type of man that's on your dream board. All the temporal things that's on your dream board. All the things, the tangible things, all these things that the Gentiles do seek. And I want you to replace the things on your dream board with a characteristic, characteristics of God, with godlike qualities, with the fruit of the spirit. And he said this, you know, he's already given us, you know, a cheat sheet, really, to life. And it's called the Bible. It's a cheat sheet. And he said, if you seek first the kingdom of God, all of these other things, you're just gonna stop. They're gonna just be plopped down on you. They're gonna show up. But you gotta seek the right thing. So I want you to go home and I want you to make a list. Even if you gotta put it in your closet or if you gotta put it in your Bible, called my dream. My aim is to be just like my daddy and write all the things, all the ways, all the attitudes, all the characteristics of Jesus. That's not hard, is it? And stay close to God. And what? Be willing to surrender much.
