Gods Got You -Pastor Hope Carpenter

A live YouTube sermon by Pastor Hope Carpenter emphasizing the unchanging faithfulness of God. Using a long-term friendship anecdote (Shelly) as a human analogy, the sermon ties multiple scripture passages (Deuteronomy 7:9, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews, Isaiah 55, Matthew 24:35, 1 Corinthians 1:9, John 6, 2 Timothy 1:12, Jeremiah, etc.) to reassure listeners that Gods promises endure, that God sustains and will complete believers salvation, and that believers can rely on Gods mercy and keeping power regardless of earthly circumstances.

Well, hello there, wherever you are, tuning in all over the world, if it's Facebook Live, YouTube, wherever you are, thank you so much for being here tonight for the Word of God. I know that it's going to challenge you. I know it's going to shift you. I know it's going to encourage you because it has encouraged me while God was giving it to me. And I'm just telling you, I'm here tonight to remind you of a truth that will sustain, sustain you when everything else has let you down, when everything else has disappointed you. The Word of God. The truth of God. No matter what's going on in your life, no matter what stress you got, what health problems you got, if you've desperately wished you'd never been married, or if you're desperately wishing to be married, or if your kids have just left an ache in your soul, and if the death of someone you loved has just left you in grief and trauma, I'm telling you, this Word of God, whatever pain that you are in, God's steadfast love for you will never, ever, ever end. And it will never let you down. You can rely on this truth 100% all of the time, every single day. Good days, bad days, whatever. When you're sick, when you're well, when you're on top of the world, and when you're feeling like you could just crumble and die, God's word will not let you down. Listen, every single day, he has a brand new supply of mercy for you. Do you even. Can we even comprehend that? That every single day that we wake up, he has a brand new supply of mercy for you. When you went to bed last night, you might have felt like, I just can't do it another day. But if you woke up this morning, whoo. He's got a brand new supply of mercy for you. There is a dawn coming after your darkest night. Whoo. I'm about to run all over this building right here. Somebody shout, God is faithful. God is faithful. Can we even wrap our brains around those three words that God is faithful? What is faithfulness? When we say God is faithful, what does that even mean? What does faithfulness mean? Mean? What does it mean to be faithful? And when I think about that, I think about my best friend. Her name is Shelly. We've been friends over 30 years. Yeah, I know I should not be that old, but I have a friend, Shelly, who we've been friends for over 30 years. And we were saved in the same church, and we graduated from the same college, we dated Together. Her husband and my husband were roommates. We studied together. We grew in the Lord together. We were having our babies at the same time. We've done missions work all over the world. We would sit and we would learn of the Lord. We'd think about the future. We've just had a lot of time spent together. And here's the thing about Shelly in my life. I've had a lot of friends that we have the same tenure. But the thing about Shelly is this. I knew if I ever needed her. I knew if I was feeling low and needed to talk to somebody. I knew if I needed encouragement. I knew if I was sick or gonna go into the hospital or needed help or needed to drop my kids off for a weekend, for just some free time, time to breathe. I knew if I ever needed her, that I could always, always depend on her. If I was in a pinch, if I needed anything. Shelly would find a way. She would do whatever it took. She would inconvenience herself to make sure that she never let me down. And sometimes I would even voice concern. Shelly, I know you're busy, and if you can't do it, just let me know. Shelly, Shelly, I know you got kids of your own, and I know you got a household to run on your own. And I know you live four hours away. Shelly. And if you can't do it, just. Just let me know. And this is what she would say back to me. She would say, hope, this is Shelly that you're talking to. Have I ever let you down? Are you getting this? And to this day, my answer would be no. Why? Because Shelly was faithful. Because I had a track record, Because I had a history. Because I could look back over my life and see where Shelly had been there at this time and Shelly had been there at this time. And if I needed her in the middle of the night, she would answer the phone. And if I needed her early in the morning, she would answer the phone. Why? Because Shelly was faithful. And everybody needs somebody like that in their life. And I know that's really hard to come by. And especially in the type of culture that we live in today, where everybody's out for themselves and they want more followers and they'll do whatever they gotta do to get to the top. And I know that's hard to find in this self seeking culture. But hear me today, if you are a Christian, if you are adopted by the father who will never, ever change his mind about you, he will never leave you, he will never forsake you, you have a faithful Friend who sticks closer than a brother. Nobody can even compare to that. Shelly can't even compare to that as good as she is. But it's the only terminology at sea, only definition that I could find to even compare to faithfulness. But God will never, ever leave you. Listen, you cannot talk about the one true living God without coming to this truth, without coming to this conclusion. How great is the faithfulness of our God? Can you shout hallelujah? When an intimidated Moses needed assurance about this huge assignment, this massive assignment that he was given, he came to God and he asked God for his credentials. And he asked God what his name was. And this is what God answered him. Oh, this is so good. God answered. And he answered him with his covenant name. He said, yahweh is my name. I am your who I am. That's Ezekiel 3. He said, I am who I am. Think about the meaning of that name. It's a name that expresses that God is a faithful God, is an eternal God, but it also announces his nature and perfections, that he always remains the same. God never changes. Listen to this. In Deuteronomy 7:9, it says, Know that Yahweh, Yahweh, your God is God, the faithful God, who keeps his gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commands. And in Malachi 3:6, it says, God himself testifies, I, Yahweh, have not changed. I, Yahweh, have not changed. He boasts of himself that he's faithful. Job gave the witness about God. He's unchanging. Who can oppose him? Who can come up against him? Who can stand up beside of him? He is unchangeable. Who. Who can oppose him? He does what he desires. James 1:17 calls God the Father of Lights. With him there is no variation, no shadow of turning. And Hebrews reminds us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. I don't know what you need tonight. You say I might need provision. He is that you might need peace. He is that you might need mercy. He is that you might need courage. Guess what? He's going to give you courage. Whatever you need. He is that he says, I am that I am. Whoo. He is that tonight. He is that he is what you need. He does not change. He does not shift. He's not a shape shifter. He's not wishy washy. I know. That's all we know in the natural. We have friends who leave us. We have family who forsakes us. But God says, I am that I Am. Whoo. I am. That I am. Whoo. This is encouraging me tonight. So what does God's faithfulness bring? Because he's faithful in his character and in his action. Are you ready? God has the last word in your life. Whoo. I'm about to tear this stage up. The doctor don't have the last word. Your husband don't have the last word. Your boss don't have the last word. Your 401k don't have the last word. Whoever seated as the president, don't have the last word. The government don't have the last word. Your family history, don't have the last word. God has the last word over your life. He's faithful. He's faithful. Listen to Isaiah 55. For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saying, saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper in what I send it to do. Whoo. He's a bold God. He's a cocky God, because he knows that's his character. He knows that's who he is. He knows he's never left us or forsaken us. He knows he's never let us down. So whatever God says over your life will happen. Whatever God speaks will happen. It don't matter what it looks like. It don't matter what your kids are doing. It don't matter what your husband's acting like. It don't matter what your bank account ledger says. Whatever God says about you over your life, you can bank on it. Because he's faithful. He's faithful. Jesus himself said this. He said, heaven and earth. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. Matthew 24:35. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. That means his word is his bond with you. That means he will keep his promises to you. Why do we doubt Him? It means that he will fulfill every prophecy that's been spoken over your life. Why? Because God is perfect. He is who he is. He never changes. So what he says today will be true a million years from now. What he said a million years ago will be true today. He's faithful. You can count on his promises. You can rest in his prophecies. There is good is accomplished. Time don't change it. Delays don't change it. Setbacks don't change It. Divorce, don't change it. Abortion, don't change it. Drug addiction, don't change it. God is faithful. And because he's faithful, not only will he keep his word, he will keep you. He will keep you. You. He will not only just keep the words he's spoken over you, he will 100% keep you. Whoo. Remember the words of Jeremiah. Because of the steadfast love of the Lord, we are not cut off. Oh, Jesus. Because of the steadfast love, he loves us so much. He's willing to do anything to keep you. Look what he's already done. He laid down his life. He said, I love you more than me. He's willing to keep you. Have you ever been cut off? Have you ever been cut out of the family business or cut out of the inheritance or cut out of the group out of the will? Jesus says this. He says, you've been inscribed on the palm of my hand. You are tattooed on Jesus hand. He will not let you go. When Paul wrote about this to the Corinthians, he said in First Corinthians 1, he said, Our Lord Jesus Christ will also confirm you to the end. Blameless in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you ever had a reservation and you said, I just need to call to make sure. I need to get confirmation. Has somebody said, I got you down for dinner tonight and I'm going to send you a confirmation email? What does that do? What does that make you feel like? It makes you say, I'm sure that I got this reservation and Jesus said, I will also confirm you to the end. Blameless. You can be sure that God's got you. You can be sure that God's got you. Let me help you understand. Jesus Christ will confirm you to the end. Literally means this. It literally means that he will assume establish you and make certain about you. You don't even have to be certain about yourself. God says he will establish you and make certain about you. This is a guarantee. Look at the next phrase there. It says blameless. Whoo. This makes me so happy today. Blameless. To the day. To the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. Blameless. It literally means this. Are you ready? Are you ready to hear it? That nothing can be called up against you. Blameless. That nothing can be called up against you. That you are without guilt. He didn't say this was your responsibility. He said he would make sure that you were certain that you were confirmed that you were blameless. She did what? I don't remember that. He used to do what I Can't recall that she was unfaithful. I don't have that anywhere in my book. Blameless. Nothing can be called up against you. Whoa, listen. That ought to make you shout right now like you've never shouted. Blameless. Secure. Nothing can be called up against you. The assurance of your salvation is not that God will save you even if you stop believing, but that God will personally see to it that you keep believing. Y' all ain't ready for me tonight. He will sustain you to the end. Means that he will make your hope firm and stable till the end. He will cause you to persevere. Have you ever questioned? I don't know how. I'm here. I don't even know how God's got me through all this. People look at you and say, I don't know how. She's still standing. I don't know how he made it through that. Why? Because God said it's up to him. He's gonna make sure that you're sustained. He's gonna make sure that you persevere. That's his prayer promise. And what's the basis of his promise? Verse 9. God is faithful by Him. You were called into fellowship, 1 Corinthians 1:9. By him. You were called into fellowship with the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God took the initiative in your salvation. You know, you hear people say, I found the Lord. You didn't find Him. He found you. He chased you all over the place. He took the initiative in your salvation. He called you into fellowship with Him. He orchestrated your ups and your downs. He orchestrated your good days and your bad days. He orchestrated the. The people coming in and out of your life. He allowed you to get fired from that job so that he could move you to the right place. He allowed your pastor to leave so that you could find the right church and get under the right voice. Because it's more important who you're under than who you're over. God orchestrated the hurt and the pain. Why? So that you were ready to meet Him. He's not going to abandon you. He is going to finish what he started. He will complete it. Why? Because he's faithful. He's faithful. Jesus makes it plain in John 6. He says, Everyone the Father gives me will come to me. And the one who comes to me, I will never cast him out. Say that he will never cast me out. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me. That I should Lose none of those he's given me. But I should raise them up to the last day. God is the One who is sustaining you, who doesn't want to lose you, who will leave everybody else just to find you to raise them up to the last day. See, that's why you need to stop running from God. You cannot outrun God. Just ask Jonah. Just ask the three Hebrew children. When they walked into the fiery furnace, they thought it was over. But God said, no, I'm going right in with you. Come on, somebody. God is faithful. No wonder Paul was so forceful in second Timothy 1:12 when he declared, I am not ashamed because I know whom I have believed. I am fully persuaded that he is able, that he is able to guard what I have entrusted unto him against that day. What day? The day that he's going to raise us up. God will keep you because God Himself has committed Himself to completing our salvation. He's faithful, friends. That's the God we serve. He's faithful. You can rest safe in the fact that God's Word is His bond. It's his covenant with us. We serve a faithful, faithful God. He sought you out. He chased you down and he will keep you. And he calls you blameless. Why do we sit around and act like poor, pitiful me, I've done too much for God to love me. No, he chases you down and he calls you blameless. He will not cut you off. And he has the last word over your life. Stop doubting the promises of God over your life, over your family, over your kids, life, over your lineage. If he started it, it's up to him to finish it. Great is the faithfulness of our God. Wow. I love how Pastor Hope breaks down the Word.
