Ron + Hope: Unfiltered - The Key To Clarity

A conversational podcast episode in which Ron and Hope Carpenter discuss ‘clarity’ for life and ministry decisions. They contrast confusion with clarity, advise gathering good information and counselors, following inner peace, and making visions ‘plain’ so people and resources will mobilize; they also stress saying no, simplifying, and imposing disciplined standards to realize a God-given vision.

Hey, everybody, it's Ron and Hope. Unfiltered, real raw and relevant. We are so glad you're here. Ron's drinking his water as he always does at the beginning of every podcast. It helps him to mispronounce certain words, as you will find as we go along. What?
Keeping my throat wet? Because this is not the first thing I'm doing all day.
Bless your heart.
Been talking all day.
You're overworked.
I'm over talked.
Are you?
Yeah. My word, you know your word bank? My word bank. What is it? 18,000. You have like a million.
Oh, my word.
Guy has like 18,000 in his word bank. I do it in the marriage conference. I just can't remember the number.
No, you don't. You have that many. Not most men. You talk more than most.
You think? Yes, it's part of my job.
Yeah, but you continue on to talk.
You don't like my talks. Once we get home, you don't like my talks. I rub your feet.
You do?
While you sit there and watch tv, I rub your feet. I clean up.
Oh, okay.
After you cook, I make your bed and get it ready for you when you go to sleep. Put your socks on, your cold feet. I do a lot of good things.
You do.
So you gotta tell them that, too.
You're amazing.
You can't just tell them my flaws.
You're an amazing husband.
Gotta even it out. I'm an amazing pastor, you say?
I said husband.
I want you to call me pastor.
You need to clean out your ear.
Why don't you ever call me pastor?
I do sometimes.
No, Bishop. Bishop Jakes calls him Bishop.
What? Bishop Jakes calls him.
No, Serena Jakes calls Bishop Bishop. And I'm like, you don't ever call me pastor or Bishop or run.
I do call you pastor when I'm talking to you in the context of our staff. Pastor when you're mad, I call you Ronaldo. When I'm mad.
I can't tell people what you call me when you're mad. Too ashamed.
Ronald Wayne. Your name. That is such a country name. That is such a country.
I'm from the country, Ronald Wayne.
Pico train.
I'm from the country, Ronald. Look, you ain't even told them what we're talking about. They're on here watching. They don't even know where we're going.
Ron.
With this today.
Ron. They're listening and they love it.
We're talking about clarity. We're on here. We're tired. That's what happens. We get silly when we get tired. We're talking about clarity. We're talking about clarity. And we don't seem very clear, do we?
Then that means it's a good topic to talk about.
It is actually when we get through being silly, it's something that God's really been speaking to me about. And I told you, I said, I think we just need to take it right onto the podcast and talk about it. There's some things that make it to you guys that don't go into other forums or if it does, when it comes out, it's going to come out differently because the other platforms we have, we don't ever get to do this. And so we bounce off one another. Clarity when we get off here.
So that.
Let's back up. Let's talk about, number one, confusion.
Yeah. That's assuming that people are confused or in the dark or don't know what to do or decisions to make. And I think we've all been there.
I got some things I want to practice with. I think. Let me turn this mic. And I would say this has happened to you, too, but I'll let you speak for yourself. But as I view you, it's happened when you're young. This many things are important to you, right?
That's true. You see this world out there and you're like, wow, this great big world. All this time the world is.
And I'm gonna go save it, and everything's a good idea. And that sounds good. Let's do it. That sounds good. Let's do it. That sounds good. Let's do it. And you're not doing anything.
Well, let's try this. No, let's try this.
And I've noticed that now that I've been doing this a while, and I don't ever want to come across as an old man, but, you know, you are getting 30 some years. Doing this is no small thing, Brian.
You'll be 55. Double nickels. No, no, no. You're 54 now.
54. I'm here behind you.
Not. You will be 50 this moment.
I'm 54.
Right, but you will be 55 in July. Double nickels.
Your point is what?
I sayarp stuff, right? That's discounts. When you go to McDonald's, you get 10% off.
I don't even know what AARP is, and I haven't been to McDonald's in two decades.
Okay. You start off in life.
Start off in life like this when you're young. And I think as you get older, you get to. I Think one of the great things about with age is you become more. What's important becomes more in focus. That's what I think has happened to me. And I would say viewing you and the way you've lived your life and you're the closest one by far and away to me, I think the same thing has happened to you. I've told you several times, you're more focused than I've ever seen you at any point in your life. And so the reason we felt like we need to talk about this, guys, and stay with me because I really got some powerful things I'm going to share that. I don't try to be real churchy on the podcast, but I think are prophetic. I think God has spoken some things to me about this word clarity. But clarity does presuppose. There's confusion, hope. And I hear all the time that word. I just feel confused. I had someone call or I don't know. I had someone call me this morning. I feel like my head's foggy. I feel like I don't know what to do next. I've got to make some decisions. I'm unclear. We hear that all the time. And the fact is no decision has a chance of surviving if it doesn't get everything you've got. And when you're torn on what the decision is that's supposed to be made, you never give it your full effort. You never support it. I told somebody on the phone last night, I said, you're at a point in life, I said, where you need to make this decision, stick to it. You need to not look back. You need to support the decision. For he who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom. If you want the kingdom to come in your life, you're going to have to commit and give it everything you've got. What does that come comes with making a decision. A decision has to be made and.
You have to make the right one, a good one, a God decision.
Now, how are good decisions made? Let me tell you this. The Bible says that there's wisdom in a multitude of counselors. Of course we want to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. We have to follow our peace. There's a lot here that I don't have time to teach. All these are hour long sessions just in themselves. But one of the main things I want to go, I want to go practical. You cannot make good decisions off bad information. My life. There was probably a decade of my life that was plagued with making major Decisions off limited information and every one of them.
Where do you say that came from, though? Just being too hasty.
Me? Yeah. I'm not known for patience. I think I'm better than I've ever been. But I'm a type A personality. I'm an alpha male.
Just make a decision.
Get that checked off the list. I don't like things dangling.
Yeah, you want to get it?
I don't like things dangling.
Checked off the list.
Tell me a few things and I'm going to make a decision. But my problem was as my responsibilities grew, my decisions had more weight and my decisions had more casualties. There were more consequences to my decisions. So while I got 11 members and I'm in a little warehouse, it doesn't have a ripple effect. But when God gives you major responsibility and you make a bad decision, there's a major cleanup. And when your kids are older and you've got a mortgage and you've got houses and you've got cars and you've got educational budgets and everything, you make bad decisions. The ripple effect affects more people. And I think as I got older, I kind of shot from the hip like I did in my 20s. But there was more to lose. And I look back on some of the decisions I wish I had back. Let me go back and get a little bit spiritual. One of them, baby, we talk about all the time, is violating your peace.
Yeah, it's huge. It's huge.
Every time I have violated my peace. Every time it's all for it has come back and bit me on my rear. Every time. And I've gotten to the place. Now if I feel the least little check.
Yeah, that feeling.
You just heard me get off the phone. Great idea.
Yep.
Nothing wrong. In fact, it had monetary possibilities for us, but I had a. Something's not. Either it's not right or it's not now. And I said. And I corrected it and I turned it down. I said, I don't want to do this because now at 55, even that little bitty little something's not right. I've learned to obey it. Whereas I used to would have plowed right through it. You know, I would have. I'd have plowed right through it. And then six months later, you see me in a full blown cleanup.
And I think that's huge for people to hear and to understand that just because it's a good opportunity, it's a good thing, doesn't mean that it's the right thing for you. At that time, we had a lot of like, we went over calendars this morning. Speaking engagements. But you probably had 10 speaking engagements. They're all good opportunities, all of them.
Good people, good churches, good opportunities, good people.
You wanted to bless their congregation, but you couldn't do. You had to say no to about half of them. Because it would. It. It affected more things than just saying yes to the speaking engagement. It affects our calendar, it affects our time together. It affects your time away from your primary call. I mean, you have to just cause it's a good thing doesn't mean it's the right thing. And so that's when we have to lean into our peace, really being led by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says when you come and you pray with thanksgiving, that the peace of God that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. That word guard is the word. Of course, anybody's heard me any amount of time. I've preached it probably a dozen times. The word umpire. And umpire.
Let the peace of God rule.
Rule in your heart. Yeah. What did I say?
Guard your heart.
I'm sorry. Let the peace of God rule in your heart. And the word rule actually means umpire, which is to call it safe or call it out. So your peace calls a thing safe. Your lack of peace calls the thing unsafe. And so those also factor into decisions, gathering information, taking it to a multitude of counselors, letting the spirit of God have a chance to talk to you, not violating your peace. We're giving you a rundown now on how to make quality decisions. I didn't want to talk about the whole time about the confusion, and a third of our time's gone. I want to talk about clarity. Okay? You're so pretty, I can't hardly concentrate.
Dear Lord, you're clear on that?
You need to get away.
Are you clear?
You just need to get away from me a minute. I can't think right now. Okay? See, I can't think now. You done messed my mind up, Ron.
Don't look at me.
What night was it? The Lord gave me that word on clarity. Baby.
No, I don't know that.
The word. Guys, the word that the Lord gave me has burned in me for days. And I've been sharing it every chance I could get. Habakkuk2 said, Write the vision down, make it plain. And make it plain that they who read it may run with it. Would you mind if I just broke that down a little bit? That they who read it may run with it. If you have a dream, if you have a vision, if you have any picture of a future that you see inside of you, that is something that you know is yours, but you have not yet realized it, manifested it, or walked it out. So whatever you want to call that, dreams, visions, whatever, there are two things that are going to have to come to it or you will die with your dream still in you. And I don't know how else to say it, but just get right down and bottom line, it's going to take people and it's going to take money.
Yeah, every time.
I don't care if it's church, I don't care if it's a coffee shop or a donut shop or a Fortune 500 company. I don't care what it is.
Building a house.
I don't care what it is. If you don't have resources and you don't have people, it's a pipe dream. It's a wish. When people come to it and when resources come to it, that that's when the inside picture begins to get fleshed out and begins to manifest. Okay. It's like an architect with a drawing. You can get the thing drawn up, but if you don't start forking out the money for the labors and the materials, if the people don't show up on the building site and if the materials have not been purchased, it's a piece, it's a dream on a piece of paper.
But the first part of that is even getting what's out of your head onto the paper.
Onto the paper.
You can't just say, I just want a house. Well, what kind of house do you want, a three bedroom house or do you want a six bedroom house?
That's what I'm getting ready to teach right there. So that they may read it, write it down, make it plain that they may read it, who they may run with it, who read it. That is telling me, hope, that God has already prearranged people that are supposed to come into my life. Some of them permanent, some of them temporary. Ever try to hang on permanently to a relationship God has established to be temporary? Most of us are offended because people left our life that were never meant to stay.
Yeah, it's called scaffolding.
They were never meant to stay. Yep. And that's not original with me. I heard that From Bishop Jakes 20 years ago that you have scaffolding and you have the building. The building is the permanent structure, the scaffolding is the temporary structure, and those are the relationships in your life. He will bring scaffolding relationships to help you get another piece to be permanent structure in place. And then you take the scaffolding down and they exit. And we need to let people exit our life just as gratefully, just as gracefully as we let them enter.
That's true. It's hard, though. It's so hard because we get attached to people. We have relationships with people, and that hurts.
That's legitimate. But that's how you've done it enough, though. Don't you kind of get the gift of goodbye?
You do, but it's still. It's hard for people listening to us that we can't just skip over that.
I used to think everybody that got around us was going to be with us forever, and especially the ones we.
Just fell in love with.
So what happens? You live in a constant funeral.
Yeah.
You just live in a strong funeral. And then I started listening to people. Like Bishop Jake said, oh, no, you're a bus driver.
You just keep doing that.
You did that little thing. You have a place where you're driving your bus. The bus makes stops. People get on, people get off. And you're not in charge of who gets on the bus. You're not in charge of who gets off the bus. God will hold you responsible. Did you keep driving?
Ye.
And see, it's those little illustrations that. I'll be honest with you. As a young minister, they set me free because I was taught, hold on to everybody. I was taught successful pastoring is making sure I hold on to everybody. And they always like me.
That ain't happening.
Yeah. And so. Yeah. But that was in my mind. And so when I heard these mentors like this talk, it was a revolution in my thinking that it was all right, that I can be me and let the chips fall where they may, that they may read it, who run with it. So God has prearranged people to be assigned to help you fulfill your dream. One thing I can promise you about destiny is you will not arrive there by yourself.
Oh, no.
Okay, now, what causes the mobilization of those assigned to come to you once the vision becomes plain?
Yeah. Once they look at it like, oh.
When the vision is plain, you become magnetic.
Yeah.
You have this draw to you that is almost irresistible when it's. There's nothing.
Because you're confident.
There's nothing that excites me anymore. That somebody that knows where they're going.
Yeah. They're confident.
They know where they're going.
They know what God said, and they know this is the steps it's going to take.
And I don't know if some people have a definition of how ambiguous we can be. And I'd like to define that. So let me use it for my world. Your world may be different, mine. But let me show you what I'm talking about. People come to me. We have a network of pastors. Network, fellowship. If you're a pastor and you're on an island by yourself, we would love to talk to you. Because we got a great network of over 300 churches and pastors in that we have a process where people go through an examination, you know, when they fill out the application. We want it to be a legitimate process where people are legitimately affirmed into ministry. So people will say, what is it you feel called to do? I just want to be in ministry. So you want me to take on your liability?
Right.
You want me to credential you. Any good or bad thing you do can come back on me. And all you know is I want to be in ministry. Okay. There's food ministry, there's clothing ministry, children. There's children's ministry, there's worship ministry, there's media ministry, there's teaching ministry, there's altar ministry, evangelism ministries, street ministry, mission ministry. And I just want to be in ministry. See, I can't run with that. What that tells me is it's not plain in you. So you have not become magnetic. I'm not drawn to you. And I have people all the time. We don't have help.
And it's okay to be at that stage because we all start with a dream. We all start with an unction, we all get an idea. But it has to be fleshed out for it to come to pass. Yeah. It has to start somewhere in seed form. But to get people and resources on your side, it has to go beyond the dream and the good idea and the first spark to spending time, taking time to sit down and flesh this thing out so that it's very clear to you and very clear to others.
So you had the dream of being my wife.
Oh, my gosh. Yes.
But you had to make it plain.
I did. I had to make it plain to you. I had to make sure you knew.
You wanted me to run with you.
Yes.
And so what was it you had.
And here we are.
What was it you had to do to make it plain?
I had to make myself known to you.
You made yourself known. Then what?
What do you mean?
You were very aggressive in your vision.
Yeah, I was Very. I would show up wherever you were.
Yes, you would.
In the workout room. And never worked out. Yeah, but just watched you. I'd show up at your basketball games, I'd find out when you were going.
To be in the lunch. There was only one seat available in the whole building.
By me.
On the pew. By you.
And here we are.
So you made it plain.
Yeah.
When you. When you told me you love me.
The third day, and you ran with.
Me the third day. You remember, you told me you love me on about three days.
It was not. Third time. Two days, Ron.
Two days. It was really quick. It was in your pulsar. It was in your Nissan Pulsar that you were driving.
No, you were driving.
Maybe we were kissing, right?
We were not kissing.
We were up at that little park up there. No, we weren't kissing yesterday.
We were sitting outside Jackson Hall. I remember.
No, we was in the pulsar.
Oh, my gosh. Go back to the teacher.
And you told me you loved me. And I did. I tell you right back. I did what I do.
No, you didn't. You just got quiet. It wasn't plain to you yet.
It wasn't so soon.
It wasn't plain to you yet.
We hadn't even gone skating yet or nothing. I missed so soon anyway. This is so good. Write the vision down. Make it plain. I want to be in ministry. That's not planned. I can't run with that. I just. So why are you coming to counseling? I just want to be happy. These are the kind of things that I hear. It's ambiguous and it's vague. It's ambiguous. It's foggy. And those same people say, well, we just don't have any relationships. We don't have anybody to really help us along. We don't have anybody that's rallied around. And I'm like. Because it surely can't be clear to them if it's not clear to you. People do not make investments into ambiguous visions.
No, no, no.
If I'm going to make a monetary investment, I want to know, what is it you're investing in? What is it you're doing? What is it, you know, what are my risks that are involved? How long is it? Where is the. You know, where's the return on my investment? It's always those things that I'm always asking, why? Because I want somebody to make it clear to me or I cannot run with this specific investment. So if you. Clarity is the key. Next thing I want to move on to. Clarity is not usually created by what you say yes to. Clarity is usually created by what you'll say no to.
Oh, that's so good. Like we did this morning. We Said no, no, no, no.
Yep. I had. I had some very good speaking engages. I just had to turn down.
Why?
My bandwidth. You know, I am committed to two campuses. To two campuses. One, that's been basically two. That's been relaunched since COVID Basically two. And, and. And what God wants us to do there. I'm totally committed to that. I can't do that if I'm in somebody else's pulpit all the time.
You're totally committed to dating me?
Yeah, I'm totally committed to me. And you have our time. We're doing that more than we ever have. We're enjoying life more than we ever have. And there's just some things I can't violate. And if I keep saying yes. If I keep saying yes, then I'm automatically to other things saying no.
Right.
You know, so clarity comes. I think this is a year where you need to think about not only clarity, but you need to think about simplify.
Yeah.
Some of you. This is the word of the Lord. Well, I feel a prophetic unction right here. Some of you that are experiencing scarcity, let me tell you what scarcity will do. This is the positive side of scarcity. Scarcity creates clarity. If you have scarcity, you will determine real quick what's important and what's not.
That's so true.
Real quick. And I know at times, I know when we went through recession the first time as a church man, I started laying off, I started trimming fat. And you know what? We did just fine. And I realized I never needed any of those things the whole time.
Right.
But that, that scarcity created clarity in me as to what was necessary and what was not necessary.
That's why I've got a whole pantry full of toilet paper to this day. Because scarcity.
There was never a scarcity.
Scarcity in 2020 made me realize what was important. So now we're stocked up. You see what I'm saying? Right?
I really don't want to talk about that because it was aggravating.
I'm on auto ship now of toilet paper.
It's awful. So what say you? I've been sitting here about 12 minutes wailing away at Habakkuk 2. Right. Division now make plane. He runs with it.
It's all organizational and discipline. People don't like that, Ron. People don't like that. It's hard. That's hard. To make yourself be so organized and be so disciplined that you are on top of your life that much.
Okay. Discipline. Purpose is the original intent of a thing.
Right.
Mission Is the strategy that you will function in to attain the purpose, the original purpose. But vision is that unique picture that God gives you on the inside of you that you need to chase. Okay. Proverbs 29:18. Where there is no vision, people perish. NIV. Where there's no progressive revelation, people cast off restraint and run wild.
So no borders.
You're talking about discipline and clarity. Yeah. It's not. Discipline is not on anybody's top five words that they like so important. And we have a generation that has been taught, do what makes you feel good. Well, do that for 10 years and call me back and tell me how that works for you. And because there's nothing more schizophrenic than feelings. And so we have to do what's right in spite of feelings. Here's the great thing about vision. Would you say I'm a fairly disciplined person?
Yes.
Okay. I'm not ultra ridiculous. But on a day to day level, I live a pretty disciplined life. Okay. I told the people Sunday and I could just watch. I could see the faces like, okay, that makes sense. That they have no idea how my vision and responsibility to them keeps boundaries on my life. There are things that I won't do just because I'm their pastor.
Right.
There are tight restraints that I keep on my life, tight boundaries that I will not violate because I am tied to my responsibility as pastor. So my vision to be a good steward and a good leader to the people God's given me responsibility for brings boundaries into my life. In other words, discipline are self imposed standards.
Yeah.
So when you talk about people who are self disciplined, these are people with self imposed standards. Like, you know, I've talked often with you. You've heard me get very vulnerable with you. My dad died very young and that's always bothered me. My dad died very young and my dad died with a lot of stuff still to do.
Brilliant man.
Yeah. Just a head scratcher. My dad died in office that he waited his whole life to get in. And it just, it was tough because I watched him. He died of a broken heart because he had to say bye to his assignment. And so I've tried to employ a lot of things in my life to make sure that I have longevity in my life. Well, I was riding back from Sacramento the other night when I had a chance to preach to an entire Slavic community of almost 2,000 people. An amazing experience. But we would come back. I was starving. It was midnight and I hadn't had nothing to eat since 12. That's 12 hours and I had been in church three and a half hours, but you know, I don't eat. I don't eat cheeseburgers and fries and apple turnovers and milkshakes. I just don't eat that. But I knew I had to eat something. So I said, all right guys, we're going to have to go through a drive through. Well, the other two people with me, amazing people on staff here, they got the number one meal and the number three meal or whatever. And there's the Coca Cola and there's the Biggie fry. And there's what? And I told him, I said, get me this, get me double meat and no cheese. And I don't want the bun. Don't you want a meal? No, I don't want a Coke. I'll drink this water.
No, you wanted a Coke.
Don't. Well, don't you want the fries? No, just get me that sandwich and then I'm going to take the bun of it. So I sit there at midnight and I ate. Basically it was a protein sandwich is what it was. And the person driving said, don't you want any of these fries? I said, absolutely. I said, I want all of them.
But I'm not going to.
Don't you want a Coke? Yeah, I want a gallon of Coke. It has nothing to do with what I want. It is a self imposed standard that I put on myself because I want my life to be different. So I have to do something different now. Nobody called me, nobody encouraged me. I didn't have a life coach yank my chain. None of that. Because the standard is self imposed. The vision will never be accomplished without self imposed standards.
So good.
Ever. Ever. You ask anybody who's ever done anything, you ask athletes, we'll get mad at how much money they make. Do you know how highly disciplined an athlete is to keep their body performing at a high level? In their 30s and they're competing with 21 year olds, do you know how they have to eat, how they have to train, what they have to say no to to be able to perform at that level? Elon Musk. I saw a tweet from Elon Musk. He said, I work 365 days a year and people still call me Lucky.
It's crazy.
That's what he said. He's not working. 365. He sold a $39 million house and moved in his office. His house is not far from where our church is. He sold it because he said things are a distraction.
So good.
So all the things he said, no to, to be able to do what he's doing. And he's probably accomplishing anymore than any of our geniuses in America or the world right now. So I don't care, baby. It transitions to any form of life you want to put it in. If you don't have self imposed standards, if you don't have restraint, if you don't have disciplines, vision will not come to pass. You can pray, you can have hands laid on you, you can sow seed, you can do everything.
Voices in your life.
Yeah, you can do it all. Have somebody prophesy over you, do you fall in the floor, whatever it is. But the fact is, unless you do it, if you don't walk away, this is the life I'm going to have to live to do this. I started the teachings called the Wisdom Society and I started it with this. Paul said, all things are now lawful for me. In other words, God is no longer chasing you down, trying to whip you for sins. We live under grace. That's going to make a lot of holiness. People struggle, but the fact is there is no law against me. But he says, even though all things are lawful, he said, now let's take it higher. It ain't about whether or not I'm sinning. He said, but not all things are beneficial.
That's right. They're not all good for me.
Now I have to start asking the question, will God let me do it? Yeah. God don't mind if I do. Wait, wait a minute. Is it wise?
Yeah.
He said, because all things are not beneficial and all things do not edify. The word beneficial means bring together. And the word edify means build up. So you can do things and it don't help bring together the pieces of the vision and you can do things and it don't help construct the vision and take it to the next level. There are things I don't do because of what I do.
Yeah. So clarity. Back to clarity. You have to, you have to be clear. You have to get a word, you have to have wisdom, you have to have counselors. You have to take time with God. You have to follow your peace, but you still have to do it. You got to get up. God is not going to Shamalama, ding dong, do it all for you. No, pixie dust is not going to come out of the vent.
God does not make it happen. God's the architect of your life. Yes, God. God gives you the design.
The design.
You're the builder.
We are the builder.
Like I said, God has a plan and a design. And a purpose, original intent for your life. Whether or not that is lived out will not be up to God.
It'll be up to me.
It'll be up to you.
So good, Ron.
And so anyway, I hope we've blessed somebody talking about clarity a little bit. Been talking about it over a half hour here, so.
Good.
Anything you want to add now?
I just think that, I mean, it's. It is such a word. It's such a word because, you know, we want somebody else to tell us what God wants for our life.
We want.
We want a supernatural big door to open, you know. But I do believe that we are led. We are led. That the Holy Spirit on the inside of us, who has already toured my life, he knows my life. He's the one who. Who leads us and guides us into truth. And if you don't have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, if you don't have a relationship with the Lord, I don't know how people make it. I really don't. You have got to pull on your relationship with the Lord and his voice. Listen to his voice. Let him lead you and guide you. Listen to that peace, because that peace is what counts it in or out. But then you are the one who's got to get up on your feet and you have got to build your life. You can do it.
You can do it.
It's a lot of work.
I'll close with this. The Bible says, wait for it. Though the vision carry, he said it will speak. This is something I've always held onto. In the beginning, you will have to defend your vision. In the end, when you've accomplished it, your vision will defend you. When I went into the deep south and said I wanted a multicultural multiracial church, I had to defend it every day.
Every day until we got it.
And then we had a multicultural church that was split 50, 50. You know what? I didn't have to say a word.
Nope.
You just look at it. So in the end, what you set out to it will defend you. We love you guys. I hope that this has been helpful in some kind of way. The next might be a little bit lighter, but we need to subscribe. Tell them how to.
