Foreign. Hello, everybody. It's Ron and Hope. Unfiltered. I am so glad to be with you today. Don't leave. It's not Ron. It's just Hope. But I'm not alone. I have one of my very best friends in the whole wide world. Real Talk Kim. If you don't know, you about to know this girl right here. She's worldwide. But guess what? She is my friend. Come on. Real Talk Kim.
I am so excited to be with you, Hopi.
I know it. I love you to death. To life.
My heart has a big space in it, just for you. So thankful to do this with you. You're all the way in California. I'm in Atlanta. And look it up.
I know it. And I'm going to be. I'm going to be in Atlanta soon, preaching. So I'll see you then.
You have to see me then.
Yes, I will hug on you.
I would definitely be there to support if I'm in town.
Listen here. I wish these people could have heard what we were doing before we press record. Before we press record, y', all, we. We've been talking about love life. Been talking. Pastor Kim just moved. She's got a brand new condo. God's just blessing her. And the life we get to live, the traveling, the preaching, loving on people. And then we got halfway through, and then Pastor Kim's phone starts dinging.
No, it started dinging and I knew she was gonna say something. It was like I felt like I was in schoolbody.
Wait a minute. What was that? You went like this. That was me. That was me.
And then I had to go find my phone.
I love that girl, y'. All. This girl is for real. For real, for real, for real. She is good people. And I don't have a lot of people on my podcast, but I've probably had you on here three, probably two or three times because we just got the same DNA. We just. We roll the same, Pastor Hope.
But you know, when I think back, like I think back and think of my life, you were that one friend for me, man. You just ride. You ride or die. You walk with me through some hell.
Yes, we have. And same.
You were walking with me when I got saved. Saved. You still walk with me, you know, Just so thankful. Everybody needs a friend like this.
Yes. And I call you at midnight when my kids are acting up and crying and carrying on. Pray with me. I mean, we've been through some stuff.
Yeah. So thank you.
But that's what, you know, we're the.
Friends, too, Pastor Hope. That you don't have to talk all the time.
Right.
Just know, like we could. You could say, I'm coming to Atlanta, I go pile up in your bed with you and we watch. Everybody needs a friend like that, right?
I think I'm the only friend that has spent the night in your house.
I think so. I know so. Not even family.
See, we just easy. Like Sunday morning when you said, I'm.
Gonna come to your house, I was like, oh. And it was wonderful.
It was fun. It was awesome. Listen, I'm so proud of you. How many books have you written?
So I've written four. This is four. I've really written five. Cause I wrote one with my spiritual dad, Pastor Rod Parsley. 75. But I've written four, self published two. And then I was with Charisma with two.
So this is this one, number five.
The new one, number five.
Look, you gotta get up.
You gotta get up.
You gotta get up. There's no other option in this Christian life.
Absolutely. And in fact, in this book, I'm telling you like, you choose your hard, but it's gonna happen.
Yes.
Like, you either gonna get stuck or you're gonna find peace. You're gonna find joy. I mean, you were talking about it a while ago.
Yeah.
We got a lot on our plate. We're so thankful that God's trusting us with it. But with a lot on our plate, lot of blessings also comes a lot of trials and tribulations. You got to choose your heart.
Yeah. You know, I talked about that in my praying sleigh today, that, you know, people think, and I think the p. The pulpit has done the people a disservice. That when you get saved that you supposed to blab it, grab it, Shamalama, ding dong it, everything's going to be perfect. And that is just not true. Because when we're walking our unsaved life, we have no opposition because we're on the same team as the enemy. Okay. Then we get saved. We've switched teams. So he's pissed at us. I mean, he is going to do everything he can to throw adversity, sickness, opposition, tribulation. And the Bible promises that it will come. It says in this world you will have tribulation. But fear not, I've overcome the world. You're gonna have it. Yeah, but what you gonna do with it? You gonna let it knock you down? Are you gonna get up? Yeah.
You're gonna get up?
Yeah.
Because the other choice. You know, I was thinking about this today. It's a shame that we have so many people going to church screaming, I receive it and never receiving it.
We.
We don't realize that when we accept Jesus as our personal savior, he lives in us with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, lives on the inside of us, which means we have the power to make it through every single thing we're going through. But yet we don't. We just stop. We just. That divorce takes us out. The depression takes us out. Our kid being a prodigal takes us out. And before we know it, we've muted ourselves. We're not praising our way through. The Bible says life and death and the power of our words. We don't say nothing but doom and gloom.
Yeah, yeah, it's Dennis, but that's his job. That's the enemy's job, is to distract us enough that we lose our focus and we throw our hands up and we go back to fishing.
And don't you think that's the way he gets us the most?
Oh, yeah.
Is ourselves. Uses ourselves against us.
Absolutely. Absolutely. Tell us. Tell the people listening about your book.
So I wrote this book. I signed with Harper Collins about a year ago, and right when I signed this book deal, I literally was. I was like, oh, my God, I cannot believe this just happened. It was a wonderful book deal. Best book deal I could have ever dreamed of. I was so excited. I signed it at about 5:47 on a Thursday. I was teaching in New York. And then all of a sudden, Pastor Hope, within one hour and ten minutes, right after I signed on the dotted line for this book deal, all of a sudden, I am on Facebook. I had just finished a prayer call that Thursday morning. That morning with probably 40,000 people on with me. My prayer Facebook was killing it. My store was killing it. Like, it was like I was on a high. About an hour and 15, 10, 15 minutes after I signed that book deal, hackers came in and stole everything. No, my personal page took my verified page. A million, million point two million two hundred thousand people just like that, gone within an hour and ten minutes after I signed my book deal. And I remember at that moment, I had to preach. I was walking up on the platform and I realized, oh, my gosh, my page just got hacked. And I remember standing up there, my. All the blood in my body had left, and it felt probably like a divorce. Like my divorce felt like I was out of control. And I got up there and I remember I ended up preaching and prophesying. Man, I was just so mad at the devil, you know, that's All I remember laying in that bed that night, and I was like, man, this is really bad. Like, it's Metaverse. There's nobody that can help you. There's nobody that can. You can't call nobody. You're just out. You're just out. And I felt myself panicking. And I heard the Lord say, you've gotten up so many other times. You did not build this platform. I built it. And you're gonna have to trust me, even when you can't see me processing. And Pastor Hope, I remember laying in that bed that night, probably for the next month. Cause it was like withdrawals. I mean, it was like everything stopped. And I went on a journey with God in that season. I was like, you know what? I still had, like, a. I was still thinking it was all about me. It was. I did this. I built this. I'll never get it back. And it was the same thing that I felt when I walked through my divorces. And I remember feeling that feeling of, I always gave everything over to God, but I would always hold a little bit that I could control. And I was at a place now where I had no control, and I had to let God be God. And that's when I got the name of that book. I was like, kimberly, you gotta get up. And I would tell myself for a month, you gotta get up. Because, girl, I was like, my store would be making $10,000 every other day.
Yeah.
I was right gone. Like. Like. Like all of a sudden, you have poured your life into these social media platforms for nine years.
Yeah.
And then all of a sudden, ain't even missing you. So I was going through process and all of these feelings of stuff I never dealt with in my divorce.
Wow.
And I kept telling myself over the process, you got to get up. You got to get up, Kim, you've got to get up. And this time, you ain't getting up the same. This time you got to deal with all those little demons on the inside that keep creeping up. Every time you lose control of something. Every time you lose control of something, you got these little. These. These little things that you never dealt with from your childhood, from divorce, from relationships, from betrayal, from all this stuff. And it creeps back in every time you get under pressure, and this time, you gonna deal with it. And so that's where this. You gotta get up.
So God processed you through that whole thing, through this book.
And isn't it ironic? I got my page back two months ago after a whole year, you know, and I'm now building it Back up. But you know what God did, Pastor Hope. I'm not dependent on it. I'm so happy. I'm so free. I don't business. I can't see what people talking about me in my church. Cause I don't pay attention to Facebook like that anymore. It was the Little Foxes bowling. The vine book is talking about how God will use the storms in your life. If it wouldn't have been for that heart attack, you would have never gotten healthy.
Right.
For that divorce, you wouldn't have learned that Your mouth is 2 divorces, 3 divorces, 4, 5 divorce that you were the common denominator. God always uses the things that you hate about yourself.
Yes.
Use those things to shift the narrative of your life. If you let him. And at any given second, you can finally say, I'm done. Like, I'm done. I'm done being a Jewish Jezebel. I'm done looking for the wrong people. Right. I'm done being messy.
You done? You done being a what? A Jezebel. Jesse.
You know, Jesse. Jesse control everything. Like I got to control everything.
Not Jezebel. A Jazzy Bell.
Jazzy. You jazzy.
But it's true. You know why he does? Because he loves us so much.
He loves us and he sees more.
Yes. It's just like having our own children. We love them so much that we gotta be hard on em sometime. We gotta spank their rear end sometime. We gotta keep stuff away from them sometime. We can't give them what they want all the time. You can't have three waffles. You gotta eat a half a waffle. You already a big boy. You can't give them everything they want. Why? Because we love them. And he loves us so much more. If we could ever learn to trust his heart for us, that he does not have one bad day planned for us. He says, I know the plans I have for you. And they're to prosper you, to give you a hope, to give you a future. I know the plans. You don't know the plans. So I got to. I got to get you in line. I got to keep this away. He's so good to us a little bit.
Because if we would start thanking God for those. Those moments that you're just out right there. Those moments of man. I'm so thankful that God let me hit rock bottom to find out who is at the bottom, which is Jesus.
Yes.
Learn through your first divorce. Maybe didn't learn through that. That first heart attack. Maybe you didn't learn through anything else. So Finally, God was like, all right, all right.
Yeah, some of us have a high pain tolerance, don't we? Don't we? Yeah. And that was. That was what my book title was all about. It was the most beautiful disaster. It was horrible, horrible, horrible. But it was the best thing for me.
Yes, it was.
Was the best thing for me, for my. For my emotional state, for my mental state, for my spiritual state. It was the best thing for me. And I am so much better today. I am not even the same person, Kim.
It's crazy.
I know.
And you know what's so funny is I was thinking about you because I knew I was coming on here with you today. And I was thinking about how you and I are so much alike and how in a sense of we just don't get up. Like, we handle our kids the same, the parents kind of the same. It's like, you're gonna need me before I need you. Like, I'm gonna let you learn the whole lesson. But I started thinking about how. How your story, man, when you started telling your story a couple of years ago when that book came out and just listening to you, like, man, yeah. If you. And I even started thanking God for you walking through what you want, it made you so oily. Like going to that place and staying for nine months. And you didn't have. Did you Surrendered. And sometimes we got to do those hard things. We got to surrender in the mess, messy middle. And that's what you and I both did, man. We looked at ourselves in mirrors and said, you know what? I'm gonna fake me, and I'm gonna let God do whatever he got to do. He gonna wreck his. He ain't gonna wreck his reputation.
On, Right, right, right.
Them help me, right? And look. Look at us.
We stronger than we think we are. You know what? Everybody is stronger than you think you are. You just gotta grab yourself by the boot straps you got. I mean. And you know, one thing that helped me, People, when I say that to people, they say, hope. Make it practical. Hope. Tell me. Tell me something practical. What you're talking about, and this is what helped me, Kim, is when you look at the big picture, when you look at your life, you say, well, I'm 40 or I'm 50, and how am I going to make it? Or I'm. I'm divorced and I don't have anybody to help me with these kids or these bills. My. Mine was totally different. Mine was. I had lost everything. How am I going to ever be able to hold my head up in A pulpit. How am I ever going to be able. Was anybody going to ever listen to me again? You know, I've just ruined my reputation. Lord, it looks so big. So big. And the Lord really helped me with a simple thing. You only are guaranteed the day you're in. We are not guaranteed tomorrow or the next week. And if we can just settle down and work on this one little day. When we get up this morning, we were greeted with a kiss of mercy. He said he wakes us up with mercy. We don't get what we deserve. Just knowing that, that I don't get what I deserve today. That his grace is sufficient for me. That his strength is perfect. In my weakness, he is my helper. I know where to go. And this is the only day today that I got to account for. And when I lay my head down tonight, I'm going to say, I gave it my all. I gave it my all. And when I lay down in the bed tonight, I'm going to say, God, I'm not going to let the sun go down on my wrath. God, examine my heart. Give me a pure heart tonight, Lord Jesus. So if I see you in the middle of the night, I'm good. I just focus on the one day that I have. And it's so simple. And it's so simple, but it is so powerful.
So powerful because we as humans, look at most of the time is all the things that we can't fix, right? Because I did the same thing you did. I mean, I literally thought I will never. I never dreamed I would be pastor in a church. I never dreamed that I would have thousands of people in my inner circle. I never dreamed that my special ed self that still don't know where commas go would find my books. And I did the same thing you did. But it was that one moment where you finally just did exactly what you said. Today is my day. It's just the day I gotta be accounted for. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
Yes. And you know, it's not as hard as we make it.
No, it's not.
It's not as hard as we make it. And I am so grateful for more vulnerable people. And you are so vulnerable with your people, Kim. You are so open, so honest. And I think that's why you have rallied such an army of people in your inner circle, in your life, that you are just spurring people on that. You know what? I'm normal. I'm human. God called me. But I struggle like you. I got issues just like you. I've gone through this just like you, and it makes you so relatable. And I'm so thankful for you and your vulnerability in that. I mean, I know so many other people are too, but I'm grateful for that.
Thank you.

Thanks to you.
That's right. I got. I said I know who needs to be on this podcast. Real talk, Kim.
Yeah. So thankful. So, Pastor Jim, that's so smooth.
Oh, well, you know, a pro. No, I just know how to read.
Good.
When does your book come out?
So my book will be out August 22nd is. The is. Is hits the world August 22nd. Man, you know what? I never knew how hard it was to hit the New York bestsellers.
Listen, they said, it's so hard. It is so, so hard. You know, when my book came out May 4, 2021, they were really pushing me to. To hit the New York bestsellers. And do you know that I have learned we might get in trouble for talking about this, but I have. We real raw, relevant.
Honey wants to hear it.
I know everybody wants to hear the tea. That it's really who. You know, because I sold more books in the first week than two people that were on the New York Times bestsellers because they were with the same agent as me. And my agent said, I'm just. They said, it's a game. They said, you sold more books in this first week span than these two people. I can't say their names, but they got on it because they had history. They had been on it before. Oh, I was like, well, that just ain't fair. But you know what?
Well, at least you knew it. I'm the kind. I don't need all that. I just need to know it.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, you get your numbers, you know, you know what it takes to get on there. And so when you get your numbers. But you know what? It's not fair. Books.
But this is, like, the first one that's like a big deal. Like, this is my best. Well, this is a good book. Like, I really. I really put a lot of. We put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in this book. This book. I mean, I take you through my divorces. You know, I'm not one that just makes one mistake. I jump all the way in when I'm gonna make a mistake. How I learn from them, how I've gotten better, you know, I just learned. Pastor Hope, I, at 36, lost everything. Did my first sermon till I was 41. Didn't start a podcast. I was 45 and written five books in 10 years, and I just turned 50 in August. And I'm living my best life now. I feel like I've dealt with every little demon I had. Loved life. And this book right here talks about all of that. So I'm really proud of it. If anything, I'm really proud of it.
I tell people all the time, you don't start living till you get in your 50s.
You told me that. Who knew?
Who knew?
I'm 50 years old, and I'm like, I'm working out now. I'm lifting weights. Yeah, I going Backwards, you know, you.
Just get in a mental space, though. It's a mental space. You either get bitter or better. I really believe that when once people get in their 50s, you're either going to be living your best life. Are you going to go down the toilet?
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
When I moved downtown Atlanta, so I sold my house in. In December. In October. Moved to Atlanta the end of the year. And as soon as I got down here, I went and found me trails I ain't never worked out in my life.
No, I see you.
I am a workout nut.
But you know what's so funny to me? You out there running with your Louis Vuitton necklace and your Gucci earrings. I'm 50.
I'm 50. I earned this 50. I can do whatever I want to do now.
I'm sweating. Sweating all over them. But you got your big old sunglasses on. I mean, you looking. You are looking snatched out there in them trails.
Girl. I'm feeling so good. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like, what?
I know.
Look at you.
Honey, we gonna have to take. What's it called, Applications. We gonna have all applications come to me.
Actually, you would be. I think it would be so cool if we. I've been saying I'm gonna get a dating app, and on dating app, I want to have friends hook you up.
Yes.
Like Hope, which knows me very well.
Right. Absolutely.
Like. Like, we'll say, no. He's not good for her.
No.
Yeah.
He's too short.
Your friend, they'll be honest about who you really are.
Absolutely.
Oh. Bye. You ain't gonna put up with him. He's too this or he's too that. Yeah. I would trust you.
Yes, absolutely. You better.
I would. I would trust you with my biochick.
So the next one, you need to let me see them, meet them, interview them.
You will definitely meet them.
Absolutely. All right.
I'm telling y', all, life's going great.
Life's going great.
Yeah.
But you've had to go through a lot of obstacles to get to this great place. I think that's what we need to let people know, is that God is gonna have to process some things out of you. Yeah.
Yeah.
To get to this great life. You know, I was talking to somebody the other day, and they were like, well, if it's God's will for me to be healed. I was like, that's so dumb what I said. The Bible clearly says it is his will that you prosper and be in help, but comma to the Same degree that your soul prospers. Now you back up and think about that. You, you do a whole inventory of your soulish man, your mind, your will, the choices you make, your intellect, your emotional health. You do a whole inventory of that. And whatever that looks like, that's what's going to be your health and your prosperity level.
That'll make all of us after this podcast, go take a detox interview of our inside souls.
Yes, yes, that's rich. I said so if you are, you know, emotionally unstable, we don't know which you we're gonna meet, you know, if you're in all praising God, two or three weeks, I've been there too. Yeah. And then you back at the club, you know, that is emotionally unstable. That's emotionally unstable. But the Bible says an unstable man is unstable. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways and he should not think he should ask anything of the Lord. We gotta get ourself together. Kim.
Listen.
And it ain't nobody's responsibility, responsibility but me. It is you. It's your responsibility. It's our listener's responsibility. It's not your pastor's responsibility or your therapist. This is all on us.
Listen, your Daddy did it 48 years ago. Your mama, they hurt you. We are walking around using every crutch that we can to stay wounded. And I really believe sometimes we don't really want to get healed because we like the attention. Being broken gets us.
Yeah, absolutely.
I really believe that it's easier to bleed on people that didn't cut us than just get healed. And I'm going to tell you something. I went after it. I went, I laid down at the altar. I got up, I fell again, got up again, fell again. And it's worth it. One day it just clicks.
Yeah, yeah, it's true.
Live the best life. You ain't got to worry. You don't.
You're, you're.
You're free from people pleasing, you're free from what people think about you. You ain't got to write your wrongs. You ain't got to defend yourself. Your character, outlive their lies. It's just a peaceful place to be. Presence of God and heal.
It is. And you know, a lot of people look at it as cocky. It's not cocky at all. You just finally know who you are in Christ. And you know what God did for you. That precious, powerful work that he did for you so that you could live like this. And you finally grab ahold of it, you won't go back for Nothing.
Nothing. You don't even want to. Like when people say, I love Jesus, but I cuss a little. If you really knew Jesus, it just ain't even in you.
Yeah.
Like, when you really have an experience with Jesus and Jesus really changes your heart from the inside out. For real. Like, you just love. Lay it out, laying all out. You don't even gotta. It's just in you. It's just pure.
It's like fresh water and dirty water. Can't pour from the same thing.
It's just freedom. Y' all go after it. All y' all watching today, go after it. Take the rest of this month and just say, I'm going to look at me in the mirror. I don't like me. I look. I don't like how fat I am, so I'm gonna get all the sweets out of my house. I don't like being a trash can to people's gossip, so I'm not gonna answer you for 30 days. Like, literally take inventory. Why people like you. And you don't like your life snapping at your kids every day, yelling at your husband every day yelling at your wife. No, just. It's you. You are the one that needs to go to the feet of Jesus and fall at his feet and say, I need it. I need a whole makeover.
Yes. And that takes time, don't it?
Yes, it does.
It's not instant. Look at us. It's not instant. It ain't instant.
And when you come out, people like, oh, my God. It was just like, you just showed up. It's like you were just. All of a sudden, you just came on the scene.
Listen, this has been a process.
A process. And it's worth it.
It is so worth it. This joy that I have, the world.
Didn'T give it to me.
No, no, no.
This joy.
They don't need to mess with us. They can't do nothing with us. We going on tour. We gonna get a tour bus. Yay.
We are going on tour. We could do it.
Don't put it past us, y'. All. If y' all want us to go.
On tour, you and I do everything confidently. So everybody's gonna leave us.
If y' all want us to go on tour, y' all write the Yay. Network and tell them you wanna see us on tour. You know, like that woman. Who's that woman? What's her name? I can't remember her name. She does the big panty tour. She's country and she's from Tennessee. She gets up and she talks like this. She said, you know, I got these big old panties on right now. I mean, she's hilarious. We could do it. We could do it for Jesus. The big panty tour for Jesus.
Ours would be Granny Panties.
Girl. I love you. Thank you for your time today. Y' all go get this book. Pastor Kim, hold it up so they can see it. You gotta get.
Get up.
You gotta get up. You gotta get up. You don't have a choice. There's too much life.
I need you to pre sell it. I need you to buy one for you and your whole family.
Go. Go. You got to go pre buy this book. It comes out August 22nd. We gotta get her on the New York Times bestsellers list. She's doing it for all of us.
Yes. Yes. So thankful for you. I love you. I can't wait to.
I love you, too. Ladies and gentlemen, go follow Real Talk Kim. She got her page back, so go follow her. She's got an inner circle of mentorship that you've got to get in. She has conferences. Have her to come speak at your churches. She is the real deal. I love her so much. Pastor Kim, thank you for your time. Thank you for being here. Until next time. It's Ronin hope. Unfiltered, real, raw, relevant.
