I am so glad that you decided to join us tonight, wherever you are, all over the world. I'm so happy that you are here. You know, I'm so excited. Every day's a good day. But two things. My book. My book just launched yesterday, May 4th. Yesterday, May 4th, the most beautiful disaster. You know, it's been a long work in progress and a journey, to say the least, of my life. My story, you know, this is my real life here. You know, this is the tragedy, this is the pain that I legitimately have walked through for many, many, many years. And I just want to talk to you about that. Tonight. We're going to talk about the book. We're going to talk about some principles. And, you know, in this book, God met me at my lowest point, at the lowest point of my life, when everything seemed like it was lost, that I could not recover, that the life that I had been living was not possible for me to continue to live anymore. Mega MINISTRY Married to Ron Carpenter Worldwide MINISTRY pastor's WIFE all the news of my downfall went all over the world. And, you know, it just seemed like this is too much to recover from. And, you know, life is like that sometimes. It's not just for me. Just because it happened on a. On a national platform, you feel the same way I felt. Maybe yours wasn't spread all over the news, but when tragedy hits your home, when tragedy hits your life, when, when. When horrible things happen, when trauma happens, you know, and it does, that's just life. You know, people give up on God. They walk away from church and they say, well, how could this happen? You know, how could this happen? I'm a Christian. I've been tithing, I've been trying to serve the Lord and this horrible thing, God must not love me. There must not really be a good God out there. You know, how could a good God let these horrible things happen? You know, we live in a world of sin. It's a fallen state, and bad things happen. And a lot of times the things we blame on the devil are really the things that we brought on ourself. You know, it's just sowing to the flesh, and it's not following the principles and the disciplines of God's word. And we bring a lot of our own tragedy on ourself. But what I want to talk to you about tonight is the tragedies that happened to us as a result of the trauma that we lived in growing up. And it's a real thing. It is truly a real thing. You know, when all. When bad Things happen. As an adult, you're faced with, then what, now what? You know, what do I do with my life now? Where do I go from here? Can God repair this? Am I willing to take the time to give God another shot or even to give myself another shot? It's the then what in our life. And this is the problem. You can't hit the minimize button. When you find yourself in tragedy, trauma, pain, divorce, rape, abuse, loss of jobs, loss of your sanity, having a breakdown. You can't hit the minimize button. You can't sweep it under the rug and just say, oh, I'll be okay. You know, and especially if it happened to you as a child. You know, we don't have our processes as children. Our brain's not even fully functioning at that point. You know, I'd giggle and laugh and say, you know, men's brains not even functioned ever. You know, they say that a man's brain is supposed to be. The cortex is supposed to be fully formed by the age of 25. I'm like, I was married to Ron at 25, and I've raised two. Two kids, so two boys. I think it as sin has fallen. So has the development of our brains. So that's just a funny. That's just a joke. Don't write me any ugly letters. But, you know, when it happens to you as a child in those formative years and your brain's not even functioning properly yet, you're just taking it all in with what you take in the begins to form the patterns in your brain, which then forms how you think, how you feel and how you act. So, you know, what we do and what happens to us as a child makes a huge, huge difference to us in our adulthood. I say in the book, I say, every adult problem is an unresolved child problem. I believe it 100%. I've got documentation. I've got doctors who say, yes, check. I mean, I'm reading a book right now with Oprah and a doctor. And I mean, it's just. While I've been reading it, it's just been validating everything that I've been saying and validating everything that I wrote in this book. And, you know, if you've ever built a house, if you've ever built a physical house, you know, if you do a bad job, if you do a shoddy job on the foundation, if you do a bad job, a shoddy job on the wiring and on the plumbing, cracks in foundation. But then you decorate the house beautifully. Oh, man, you got pretty paint. You Got wallpaper, you got great curtains, and you got amazing furniture. The defects are not visible at first. Do you hear me? The defects are not visible at first. But eventually, later on, the problems will surface. Oh, man. Do you hear me in the spirit? Later on, the problems will surface. Problems like the chaos, the abuse, the violence, the yelling. What if you were born into a home as a child and as a baby, your parents bawled all the time and it was just volatile and you had to walk around on eggshells and the temperature was on hot all the time? What if you were abused as a child? What is it? As a child, you watched your mom be abused. Listen, that is setting you up to fail as an adult. You say, really? How can that be? It didn't happen to me. How is that setting me up to fail? Because it's weakening your foundation. It's weakening your foundation. Do you hear me? It's a misunderstood wiring of your brain. Your brain was not getting healthy that it needed so that when you get to an adulthood, when you get to adulthood, the way you think, act, feel is wired due to everything going on in your home. Oh, man. So then you grow up and you say, why do I have all this trouble with relationships? You grow up and you say, why do I choose all these dysfunctional men? Why do I keep choosing the same kind of people in my life? Why am I drawn to this lifestyle of drugs? Why do I run to drugs when I get stressed? Why do I run to alcohol when I get stressed? Why is it when fear hits me, I act a certain way? What if you grew up in a home where fear was your base? Fear was your base. Why? Because you had crazy punishment as a child. Abusive punishment. You know, blood running down your legs, punishment. Will my mom bring home another abusive man tonight? Will I have to listen to that as a child? Will we have food in our house tomorrow? Will I wake up tomorrow and know that, you know, my physical needs will be met? What if you went to bed as fear, with fear as your base, not knowing if you were going to wake up and have food tomorrow? Will someone be there to pick me up after school? Because the past five days nobody came? Will DSS show up at my house again this week to take me away, ripping me from my mom, even though she might not be a good mom, but it's the only mom I know? What if you grew up with fear as your base? The way you think, the way you act, the way you learn, the way you feel, it's all different than the way it should Be if you were raised in a healthy environment because you were raised in a toxic, fearful environment as a child. Shoddy wiring, shoddy plumbing, shoddy foundation. Listen, I was raped when I was 15 years old. And I tell about it in this book. The most beautiful disaster right here. If you don't have it, you need to get it. It's on Amazon anywhere books are sold. But you got to get this book. Telling you it's life changing. I'm gonna read you some testimonies in a minute. But I was raped when I was 15 years old. And I still today at 52 years old, remember what happened to my body at that time. I remember my entire body was almost like an out of body experience. I completely went numb. My eyes dilated. I closed my eyes and it was like I wasn't even there. Okay, now that was 15. That was not five. That was 15. But it sent me into any type of threatening environment in my life. That's what would happen to me. My eyes would dilate, I would go numb. I'd be like an outer body experience. I would shut down. My voice would close up even into marriage into a totally different set of circumstances. I had a husband who was an amazing husband, great man. Sex is supposed to be normal in marriage. First sexual experience with my husband, same thing. Body shut down, throat closed up, eyes begin to dilate out of body experience. Why? Because it wired my brain a certain way to respond to the same thing. Do you hear what I'm talking about? Faulty foundations. This book talks about why we do what we do. There's always a why. We always look at people and say, what's wrong with you? Why are you acting like this? We should be saying, what happened to you? Why are you acting this way? There's always a why. And listen, listen, listen. Just because you love Jesus and you're a Christian does not mean that you're not going to struggle. Why? Because we were all raised in dysfunctional homes. We all did not get our needs met the way that God designed a child to get their needs met. So we go into adulthood with all these broken places in our lives and that is not God's best for you. Jesus said John 10:10, the thief comes what? To steal, kill and destroy. But I've come, he said. I came, I lived, I died, I rose, I suffered so that you could have an abundant life. The abundant life of God is what he wants for you. It's what he wants for me. It's what he wants for everybody. He knew we were going to have Trauma. He knew we were going to have pain. He knew we were going to have faulty foundations. That's why Jesus had to come. That's why we had to be born again. We were born naturally into our. Into our mom and dad's house, into the house of the Carpenters, to the house of the Hillies, to the house of the. To the house of the Joneses. But Jesus knew, being born flesh and blood into those houses, we were going to be messed up and jacked up. And he said, you must be born again. Because this blood, the blood of the only spotless lamb, is the only blood that's going to be able to take away all these sins and generational curses and traumas and help you to rewire your brain. Brain. And to know who you are in Christ. Maybe you didn't get it at your house, but the Bible will tell you who you are in Christ. Our brain is so messed up. Our mind is messed up from all the lies that we've heard growing up. You'll never be good enough. You're always going to be like your daddy. But the Bible says that we have to, what, rewire our brain. We have to change our mind. We have to change our thinking based on what the word of God says. You cannot live by what your feelings tell you, because your feelings are gonna go right behind what your brain tells you to feel. And if you've been raised in trauma, if you've been raised in dysfunction, you're gonna feel a certain way. And listen, your feelings are liars. I say this on page 72 in my book. Feelings can be deceiving. Just because your emotions tell you something is true doesn't mean it is. The devil wants you to pay attention to your feelings, but Jesus wants you to pay attention to his truth. Whoo. The devil wants you to pay attention to your feelings, but you got to pay attention to the truth of God's word. And if you tell yourself over and over enough and over and over, and your brain's going to start believing the truth of God's word, not the truth of what you heard. Do you hear me? You can be free. You really can be free. And I have lived a vulnerable life before you sharing my junk so that you can be free. He who the sun sets free really is free indeed. This book just came out yesterday. The most beautiful disaster. I am being flooded already. People telling me. I tried to just read a few pages, but I couldn't put it down. I couldn't even cook dinner for my family last night. I didn't go to bed till 3 o' clock because I wanted to finish the book. People are finishing the book in a day because they say it's so intriguing and it's so life giving. A lady told me. She said I was so shocked about what I've already learned about parenting. She said I had no idea that what I was going to get out of this book was not just about the trauma and the healing for me. She said now I can turn around and help my children, help raise my children differently. Let me read you a few testimonies. That just blesses me so much. Listen to this. I got the book today and just started the introduction. Wow. It's like you took the words out of my mouth. This depression has changed me for the worse. I've been so broken for so long and I've gotten so good at hiding it. I'm so ashamed at who I've become, the thoughts that I have. I just said two days ago that I hate myself and I hate this life. The only out is taking my life. But tonight she just started reading the book. I decided to be open and vulnerable on my page and I hope this is the first step of my healing. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for showing me your pain so that God can heal mine. It's so good. Here's another one. Oh my goodness. I can't put the book down but I need to go to bed. Big smiley face. Seriously. Apart from the depression, I have been dabbling into other things just trying to find myself. I went from my parents perfect house to straight being married at age 20 and then pregnant three months later. I never lived for myself and I have so desperately craved individuation. I know now I'm going to find myself in God. I do a whole chapter in here on the power and the purpose of individuation in our life. Many people have never even heard of it. So I want to encourage you tonight. Listen, I did not write this book. I did not become an author so that I could get $4 a copy. No. And I don't even get the money. It's going into Hope Carpenter ministry so that I can feed the hungry all over the world. Dominican Republic, Argentina, Italy, Colima, Mexico. That is what Hope Carpenter Ministry says. I wrote this in so that I could see you be free. I so desperately want you to live a free, a whole, an exciting, a purpose filled life. And you can. Many of us don't even know why we do what we do. Many of us don't even understand how we end up where we end up. But listen, this book right here is a guide. It's a toolbox for you to figure you out. It's not all the answers, but I pray that it helps get you on your journey to wholeness and healing. If you haven't gotten this book, I want you to go get it tonight. I want you to go get this book. It'll be at your house in two days. Listen, if you've already read the book and you are sending me these testimonies, it is important that you get this book in the hands of everybody you know. You say, I've already bought a book. Go buy two more. Think about your friends, think about your sister, think about your mom and dad. Think about your co workers who you know are struggling. And if this has helped you this much, give them the gift of wholeness. Give them the gift of healing.
Man.
I want you to be free. I want you to be free. The Bible says it is my will that you prosper and be in health, comma, even as your soul prospers. What is your soul? It's your mind, it's your will, it's your emotions. So if your emotions are broken, if your mind is broken, you cannot prosper and be in health. It's to the same degree you will prosper and be in health to the same degree that your emotions and your mind are healthy. We gotta get healthy church. We can't just run around going to good church services and shouting and speaking in tongues and falling out at the altar and we're still broken. We gotta do the hard work. We gotta do the work to be who God's called us to be. Let me pray for you, Lord. I thank you that you've already made a way. I thank you Lord. You've done it all. You said it's finished. You sat down and said it is finished. You took the keys from death, hell and the grave and it is over. It's over. It's finished. But I thank you Jesus that you've given us a roadmap. You've given us a path to wholeness. I just decree and declare over them right now. Faith rise up in them in the name of Jesus. Hopelessness has to go. I pray that they would see light at the end of the tunnel, that there is hope for them in Jesus name. Send me your praise reports. Go to hopecarpenter.com, join our email list.
