What's the Deal With Feminizing Men? | Ron + Hope: Unfiltered

Ron Carpenter argues that cultural and spiritual forces are driving what he calls the feminization of men, and that masculinity serves a biblical purpose. He draws on his upbringing and pastoral counseling to explain gender confusion as a psychological and spiritual problem, proposing prayer and renewed male roles in the home as solutions.

Foreign. Hey, guys, this is Ron and Hope Unfiltered. With only Ron being here today. But I hope you'll be. I hope you'll be more apt to stay with me even though the life of the party is not here because of the subject matter I'm about to get on. It's something that, man, I really want to talk about, something I've been thinking about how to address, but today I decided to go ahead, bite the bullet and do that. But it's Ron Hope Unfiltered. Great to be with you guys. I only spend. I only plan on spending about a half an hour with this topic. So I'm. I don't have the Joe Rogan ability to do a three, three and a half hour podcast. Maybe if I had the right people on here to interview and I could go, you know, a half a day like that, a half a work day, but just myself, I kind of adjust this thing to my own personal ability to give so much attention to anything. I know I can't watch a podcast for three hours. I don't know if you can, but I try to do it about a half hour. And you know what? Hope will be back with me. I'm going to be doing a couple by myself. Hope is on her book tour, and so that gives me an opportunity to really just come in and kind of do the man thing or the thing that I would like to hit that I believe a lot of people that watch our podcast would like to hear about. You know, when I did the thing a few weeks ago on Weird Church, me and Hope got a ton of feedback on that. Got a lot of DMs on that, and people hitting me up, talking about how it challenged them, what it meant to them. Some other people saying, man, I've been waiting for somebody to say this. I think this one will be along the same line, but maybe even more. I think this has to do more honestly with culture than with church. And I just want to talk about this thing of why do we have a culture that is trying to feminize a whole generation of men? Okay. This is not a political talk. It's not even, you know, a Hollywood entertainment or who is pushing the issue. I'm not really. That's not really where I want to go. I think you can follow different politicians and find out where they stand and if they line up with your core Christian beliefs. That's not really what I want to talk about. I want to talk about. I believe there's some real dynamics to this in the natural But I also believe there's some spiritual dynamics to this that maybe nobody really talks about. I'm kind of that guy that tries to come in and say, here's what's going on. But maybe there's something behind the curtain that we need to address that we're not talking about, that we're not looking at. Number one, you need to know that I was raised to be a very manly man. You've heard me talk about it. I come from a small town. I come from a Southern. I come from a rural. I come from a. I was kind of a jock. I played sports. I was literally in a locker room and in sports nine months out of the year. My daddy said I didn't have time to get in trouble because I was, you know, getting home at 8 o' clock every night. Wore out from sports and practice and everything, working out and everything else. And I was also raised around agricultural family and worked a lot in that as I was growing up. In my teenage years. You combine all those together. The culture that was around me produced very manly men. I do not believe that masculinity in its purest sense is toxic. I believe there may be some people that once their personality and their deficiencies get woven into the fact that they feel like physically they are the stronger vessel that they can become something that God never intended for them to become, but masculine in its purest essence. And as I understand it, biblically, you need to know that I believe is not only very culturally sound and very family sound, but I believe it's very biblically sound. And, you know, first of all, we get to the thing of, you know, trying to feminize men. I'm going to stumble all over some stuff here, but I'm going to do it intentionally. Number one, I am troubled at the fact that we take a kid who we say is confused and then immediately say, well, we need to change your body. Okay? Now, I'm not a doctor, I'm certainly not a scientist. I'm not a biologist, I'm not a psychiatrist, I'm not a sociologist. I've spent my whole life studying the word of God and out of the word of God, trying to understand the psyche and the nature of people and the nature of sin, the nature of iniquity, the nature of transgression, the nature of these things and how they can twist people up. You've got to understand, when Adam took the apple in the garden, what, what happened? It messed up his mind, okay? It was a tree of knowledge. It was not a tree of Spirit, it was not a tree of body, it was a tree of knowledge. Knowledge pertains to the soulish realm, okay? So in the realm of the soul, pardon me, you have the mind, the will, the. The emotions, knowledge, intellect, experiences, mind, will, emotions, knowledge, intellect and experiences. All six of these are housed and compartmentalized in a realm we call soul. Okay? Spiritually, when I get saved, I am born of the spirit and I'm perfected spiritually. But this realm of the soul, for what has happened in my spirit, move into my soul. That is called a process of sanctification. Okay? Sanctification is not an event. Sanctification is not a biblical theology word. Sanctification is a process by which the rest of your person is becoming like what God has done in your spirit. It is the perfecting of the rest of your person so that you become a person who is in alignment. You are led by the spirit, born by the spirit, walking in the Spirit. Your mind has been renewed, okay? So that you may know what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. So my mind allows what is in the spirit to be done through my life. And then finally, I've learned to offer my body as a living sacrifice. Let me say that again. I am born of the spirit. And once that happens, for that thing, that salvation, that experience to move through the realm of my mind, will, emotions, intellect, knowledge, experience. That is a process called sanctification. It is a process by which God is bringing you into alignment, okay? So that when God speaks to your spirit, your mind doesn't fight him. The Bible says the carnal mind is the enemy of God. Carnal means fleshly. It doesn't mean sexual. It means fleshly. So in other words, I can be born again, but if I have an unrenewed mind, it will not allow what God is saying to my spirit to take place. Because the mind will be the enemy of it. The mind will fight it. And the mind is the thing in you, the only thing in you that can fight God. Your mind has to be in agreement with your spirit for you to offer your body as a living sacrifice. What does that mean? The hands of Jesus, the feet of Jesus, doing the right thing, behavior, conduct. Religion starts with behavior and conduct on the outside and tries to clean you up on the inside. God starts with the inside, and you work out your salvation with fear and trembling. This is not a Bible study, but I'm trying to get to this masculine, feminine thing. In doing so, we know that biologically, not soulishly, biologically, we know that the Bible and we know that science chromosomally supports that there are two genders. There's male and there's female. Okay? But now we're in a generation where we are in identity and gender confusion. And mainly to me, the emphasis looks on the feminization of men, not the masculinity of women. Both are taking place, but one of them has a much harder push. Okay, I want to diagnose that for a minute. Will you ride with me? So text somebody and say, man, if you're not watching this, if you're not listening, you need to get on this. This guy's actually going to go there. Y. I'm going to go there. Whenever you talk about feminizing a man, you got to go back to what you say. What does the Bible say about a man? In the Bible, God is called abba, which means father. And man, or Adam is called above, which is a derivative of abba, which means father. The two words mean the same thing. It means source and sustainer. A man has been given the ability to be the source of life. A woman is the incubator of life. Women, you are incubators. A woman is a bank. Whatever you give her, she gives you back with interest. Okay? You give a woman a house, she'll turn it into a home. Okay? You give a woman attention, she'll turn it into love. You give a woman a relationship, she'll turn it into a marriage. You give a woman a sperm, she'll turn it into a baby. That's what a woman does. She takes it and gives it back with interest. You give a woman trouble, she'll give you hell. She can turn around that way and give it back with interest. A woman is an incubator. The Bible does not call a woman a source. The Bible calls the man a source. So God has built the man where he is a life source. But the word AB does not just mean source, it means sustainer. It means that God intended for the man to be built in such a way that he can turn around and sustain that which he has sourced. So not only does he have the ability to create it, but he can go back and manage what he created. Okay, so I liken it to this. I've used this illustration several times when I've taught on masculinity. You know, I'm sitting in a building right now, a wonderful church building. And this building has air conditioners sitting on the roof. I mean, hundreds of tons of air conditioning. I can't imagine how much that weighs. It's got line Array speakers hanging from the roof. We've got all kind of lighting and drop ceiling hanging from the roof. The weight that is on this roof is astronomical. Okay? But everybody comes in here on weekends and they worship. Nobody has ever walked in this building and said, man, I bet those are some beautiful beams up there. But people come in and look at the lights and people come in and look at the LED board. People come in, look at the graphics. People come in and look at the carpet. People come in and look at how the children's wing is painted and all that. And they say, man, that is nice, or that is pleasing aesthetically. Nobody ever comes in and says, that's a great concrete pillar. That's a great beam. Nobody ever says that. But the aesthetics is not what's keeping you safe. People come in here and worship because there's a beam that nobody sees, nobody talks about, that is holding up the weight of this structure and saying, nothing is going to fall on you and nothing is going to hurt you as long as I'm here. That's what a father is. That's what a man is. It's not, do you have the ability to birth it or source it? That does not make you a man. Can you turn around and manage what you've built? Can you turn around and raise the child you've created? Can you turn around and manage the marriage that you have initiated? Can you turn around and run the business that you have started? Come on, somebody. Can you turn around and discipline the children that are in your house? Can you turn around and manage the money that you've been making? It's all about, can you turn around and sustain it? Okay, number two, God has put the man in the home in such a way where he is the one that casts vision. The man who does not provide for his house is worse than an infidel. The Bible says that provide doesn't mean make enough money for groceries. That word provide vide is the root word of vision. He who does not have a vision for his house is worse than an infidel. The word infidel means one who is led by his senses, touch, smell, taste, hear and speak in other wor. A man who has no vision for his household is worse than someone dominated by senses. Okay, so it is the man's masculine role within the home to provide boundaries. It is the woman's role to nurture. So you have the nurturing majority of it coming from the mother and the father being an add to you have the boundaries coming from the father and the woman Being an add to and together, you have a disciplined, boundary led, nurtured individual growing up within the confines and safety of a home. I'm giving you the biblical mandate. You say, what does that have to do with this culture of feminization? It's because whenever you remove either of those roles and you confuse those roles, everything is affected. I was in counseling one time, and a woman, our son, our oldest son, many of you know, his story was heavily on drugs, and it affected everybody that loved him. And in counseling one time about, you know, what I do, you know, what do you do when somebody living in your house is so horribly addicted? When somebody living in your house, you know, is erratic? You don't know what's going to happen next. You don't know what decisions they're going to make stealing from you. How do you live? So I was going to get counsel on this, and the woman held up what was, you know, used to be over the cribs. They probably got much more advanced stuff now for children, but they used to have these little carousels that would hang and they would have little animals dangling on them. The baby would lay there, music would play, and they'd go running around and have all these little things dangling. She held that up and she pulled one of those little animals, and when she did, all of them shifted. She pulled one part of the connection, one part of the whole unit, and everything on it had to move to accommodate and adjust. So when you remove the masculine element from the family, everything's got to move to accommodate and adjust. I won't let that sink in. I'm halfway through my podcast, and I don't want to leave this out because I want to be able to go here. Jezebel in the Bible is a spirit. And when you study the characteristics of the character in the Bible, the real person, Jezebel, then you understand the spirit that is at work behind it. I have encountered this spirit. It is a nasty, nasty spirit, okay? And it used to be doing a lot of its work within the realm of the church. Now I see it doing its realm work within the realm of the culture of a nation and in a planet. The nature of Jezebel was illegitimate authority. So when you say that's a Jezebel spirit, it's someone trying to function in an authority that is not God given and not organic. Ahab was the king, but Jezebel was running everything because Ahab was a weak man. So you got a strong woman behind a weak man. And Ahab could give the word because of his position of kingship, and everything had to be done, but it was the word of the king being manipulated by the will of the woman. Now, when God handed out the judgments for sin, okay, when God handed out the judgment for sin and he started talking to the ground, he cursed the ground, and he started talking to Eve, you know, your pain will increase in childbearing. He also said this to Eve. He said, and your desire will be for him. That's an odd statement. If you study that in the Hebrew, it basically means this. Your desire will now be for his place. So in other words, he says, sin has enacted a momentum in the spirit realm and within the hearts and minds of people, where the woman will desire to function out of headship. Although not designed to. Designed to be the name in the Bible, the Paraclete, the helper, okay, she's given the same name as the Holy Spirit, the helper, the completer. But her desire, because sin has now twisted things. Look, and the knowledge of good, the mind has been messed up. Then you look all through biblical references and you will find where we have gender confusion. And wherever we had gender confusion, it always elicited a response from God. God would respond in some way and sometimes drastic measures to correct it. Okay? And I'm just telling you what it is. The Jezebel spirit in its purest essence is the emasculation of men. So when we are in a generation that wants men to dress like women, and then they want us to dress them like women and pretend they're a man, when they want to take kids who may. The nature of kid is confusion. The whole nature of a kid is they don't know. That's why God gives them a parent and comes in one day and says, you know, he feels like a girl. Here's what I don't understand about how the medical field is treating this. Well, then, by all means, let's start puberty blockers and let's start looking at transitioning and let's start looking at hormone treatments and let's start looking at, you know, going all the way into all type of procedures and operations. Because if you feel like you're a girl, then obviously you're a girl. You know something? I had a cancerous place taken off my face and I had to get some reconstructive surgery a while back. And I thank God they've got it all. And I about recovered from it. Still a little numb. Don't totally work right just yet, but I've recovered about 90% from it. And before they did anything. There was a series of protocols. They took me through. They didn't come in and say, yeah, I don't like that thing on your face. Let's go in here and start cutting. They had a series of protocols. What is it? How long has it been there? How deep is it? What is the best treatment? Let me get another person's response on this. Well, if this happens, you may have to go under, do this. Would you rather us do this or whether you do this, Would you rather us do radiation? Would you rather us cut it out? We had to go through all this exploration and the series of protocols medically before we started any action. Well, if somebody comes in and says, I feel like I'm a woman, okay, well, let's get started transitioning you and let's give you the medicine and start putting down dates and we can start the operations. Should there not be a series of protocols psychologically and psychiatrically? Because if he says he's wrestling with a feeling, is it easier to change a feeling to match up with a biological body? Or is it easy to change a biological body to try to line up with a feeling? I say the former. And so if you let me have time with you, let's examine these feelings. When did these feelings start? When are they triggered? How are they triggered? How deep are they? And let me explore your life and let me explore your experiences. Then a lot of times, let me tell you something, feelings change. You don't want to permanently change a body to line up with a feeling. I can change my feeling three times about what I want for lunch. Feelings are all over the place. If we're constantly making long term decisions out of feelings, we're going to have the most jacked up schizophrenic life you've ever seen. Because there are series of protocols I had to go through for one little thing taken off my face and somebody says, I feel like, well, let's don't start with the body, let's don't start with the hormones. Let's start with the feelings and maybe we can get to the bottom of why you feel that way. And if we can change your mind, we can change your feelings. Because feelings follow thoughts. It is a scientific fact. Once you have a thought, you've got 30 seconds to deal with that thought, or it is then accompanied by a feeling. And then you have a deeper battle because you have the thought and then you have the feeling combined with the thought. And those two are much more difficult to manage. But you can unravel a Feeling that by unraveling a way of thinking. That's what psychology and psychiatry and the word of God renewing your mind is for. You can have somebody renew their mind and all of a sudden their feelings change. Well, you know what? I really don't feel like I am a woman anymore. Let me find out what God meant for a biblical man to be. So I submit to you, there needs to be many, many protocols. Just medically, not from a preacher standpoint, but medically. Before you just go on this track of saying they feel like one, let's make them one. Well, number one, you can't ever make them one. You can't genetically engineer that. You can medically arrange some things, but you can't genetically engineer that because that's a thing that only comes from God. And then number two, let's go through these protocols of feelings because the tree messed up the mind, which has a direct impact on the feelings. If you can clear up the mind, you can clear up the feelings. Maybe this is a soulish problem and not a gender problem. Just want to throw that out there. And for those of you saying, why don't you just come at it Biblically? You got to understand, my podcast audience is much broader than just church people. So I'm trying to explain this from a point of faith, but in a broad spectrum. Psychologically, psychiatrically, gender wise, so people who are not of my God and do not follow my faith can understand. My argument that I'm making right here. The spiritual dimension behind this, and I'll close with this, is that behind thoughts are spirits. So look at me. You know, the person says, I feel like I'm a woman. Those feelings are attached to a line of thinking. That line of thinking came from a tree, came from experiences. Okay? So my thing is, let's unravel the thinking to unravel the thoughts to line your feeling back up with your biological nature and gender that you were genetically created to be. But now, where do thoughts come from? The Bible talks about something called strongholds. Strongholds are lies. Strongholds are not demons out there in the air. You know, with fork tail, pointed ears and goo dropping from their fangs. Strongholds are between your ears. Strongholds are when you believe a lie to be true. Well, nobody loves me. Well, that's a lie. For God so loved the world. That's just a lie. But as a man thinketh in his heart, so is the man. If the enemy can make you embrace that thought as being truth, then it defines you. It defines your. Is. Is. Is a state of being, a state of reality. So the thoughts that you embrace to be true define your state of being and define your reality. I'm throwing out some good stuff here. Okay. The Bible says in that there is darkness and light, that we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that we might show forth the praises of him who's called us out of darkness into light. Darkness is not the absence of a light bulb, and light is not turning the switch on. In the Bible, darkness is ignorance. Light is knowledge. He's called us out of ignorance and into knowledge. So if the enemy, the Bible says, make sure that the light in you be not darkness. Did you catch that? Make sure the knowledge you have is not a lie. Whew. So make sure that which you're believing to be true is not false. Because as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. What is the power of the enemy? The Bible says that the enemy was cast into the above darkness with everlasting chains. And there he has been reserved in everlasting darkness under chains. A reserve is a boundary marked off. We know it by Indian reservations in America, across America. And we know that the laws that govern that reservation are different than everywhere else. Well, when Satan rebelled against God and a third of heaven fell with him, a reserve was created and an abode called darkness. So there is a boundary marked off by God by which the enemy has authority. What is his reservation? His reservation is darkness or ignorance. So, in other words, the enemy has full authority by God to traffic in a world of lies and traffic in a world of what? You do not know. The Jezebel spirit. Jezebel. The first thing she did is took what surrounded the king and what surrounded her and made them all units. She castrated every one of them. What was that? Taking their manhood away and their ability to be a life source. I want to tell you, I believe there is a Jezebel spirit behind this generation for the emasculation of men, given a wide range of thinking to unrenewed minds and convincing people of identity confusion. And then as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. It has defined a reality which we see around us. And we're trying to attack it politically, trying to attack it educationally, we're trying to accommodate it medically. But maybe it's none of these. Maybe it is a dark, nasty, demonic spirit that has an agenda to remove men from a generation. If you remove men, you remove masculinity. If you remove men, you remove the source. If you Remove men, you remove the sustainer. And if you remove men, you remove the boundary giver. Look at our kids. I mean, some of them like running wild animals in the streets. What's happened? Masculinity has been removed from the home, been removed from the role model. We are seeing so many of these cultural things that are going on around us and we're saying, what in the world has happened? The masculine man being removed from the home, the masculine father being removed from the home. Well, I believe this is our biggest problem. I believe that's our biggest problem. I believe our biggest problem is masculine men. The biggest problem is the lack of masculine men and fatherlessness in our home. I want to encourage you, as I've already gone a half hour dealing with this, to open your eyes with me and maybe open up for discourse with other people, that maybe we're just not fighting a cultural issue or a political agenda. Maybe we're fighting a deep, dark spirit that is out to destroy a generation. And just as Jezebel wanted to emasculate men, that spirit that is called Jezebel is still out to take men out and take men down at any rate and anywhere she can. Because her desire is illegitimate authority. Her desire is to have authority where it's not God given, but done through manipulation and usurping the place and position that God has given somebody else. You've got to recognize when that spirit is at work, because you shall know a tree by its fruit. Every spirit has fruit, not just the Holy Spirit. You know what demon, what spirit is behind it. When you watch what's going on, when you see what's going on, that's fruit. Well, that fruit is connected to a source, a tree. And so we call it what it is when we look at the fruit by which it's operating. So, God, right now, I just pray that you would help us to be wise. I pray that you pull back the blinders from our eyes that we may see. And I pray, God, that you would help us to join together to fight something that can only be pulled down by the renewing of our mind, by the word of God and by prayer and by praise and by understanding our spiritual weapons. Lord, I appeal to those that are not people of faith right now to open their mind up to what's been said and what's been taught. And I appeal to the people of faith to say, it stops right here and this spirit will not touch my household. I call men back to their place. Hallelujah. And right now, in Jesus name, if that has affected you or your family in any way, you've got authority in the name of Jesus Christ to pull down strongholds and to attack that spirit and say, out, out, out of this house in the name of Jesus. I know it's kind of a touchy subject, but you know what? I felt like when I knew I was going to have a couple of these to do by myself, I just wanted to come up here and basically talk out of my heart what God has shown me on what is really going on and how to expose it. Because when you can pull back the veil and see what you're fighting, you're a whole lot more dangerous. Hey, man, I love you guys. Take this, Share it like it, subscribe, do something with it and help get this in somebody else's hand. We do this because we believe it's an out of the pulpit way to talk in a more real kind of a more raw platform than maybe you could. There's some refinement that has to go on in a pulpit. There's some honor and respect that the pulpit needs, but conversationally, sometimes you can have some discussions that you can't say basically in a public forum like that. That's what we endeavor to do here. And we've got a couple of weeks and the one who's the life of the party will be back on here with me. But let somebody know what we've been talking about today. And thank you for joining me. And until next time, it's Ron and Hope Unfiltered, real raw and relevant. Love you guys. We'll see you soon.
