LIVE : Personal Branding Workshop

Live personal-branding workshop (YouTube) teaching entrepreneurs and creators a five-step framework called "Big Papa": Position yourself; Optimize platforms; Produce value; Promote & engage; Analyze & adapt. The speaker emphasizes very specific niche definition (niche-of-niche), consistent tone/branding across Instagram/TikTok/Substack, and using metrics to iterate. Includes a personal example (speaker shifted from fashion/aesthetic posts to educational creator-economy content and achieved a viral video) and assigns four concrete homework items: (1) define three specific niches; (2) align bios across platforms; (3) audit and increase value in posts; (4) pick two strong posts per platform and replicate within two weeks. The tone is action-oriented and community-building.
Foreign. We're live. Hey, guys. This is my first substack live. I'm very excited to be doing this this beautiful Saturday morning that you guys are going to be sharing with me. This is, as I said, the first one I do. My paid subscribers. This is one of the perks of the subscription. You get one of these workshops a month, and I love doing lives because it is a time where you and I can speak, we can touch upon various subjects that may be in written form. You know you're getting it, but you just need, like, this interaction to understand a lesson. And I think the beauty of these things is the more that we do it, the more you and I get to know each other, the more we build, the more of a community we start creating. So I'm really, really excited. The first workshop, the first live that I wanted to do, I wanted to do about personal branding, especially, like going into the new year, where I'm pretty sure says very smart, entrepreneurial human beings, we probably wrote down a list of things that we either want to create, want to accomplish in this new year. And the majority of the people that do follow me are some sort of entrepreneurs or content creators. So when we're looking at business as a whole, personal branding is really what ties everything together. If you do not have a strong personal brand, you will not be able to really make your content creation or your entrepreneurial business sustainable. Right? So personal branding really, really, really, really, really is the foundation of not only who you are, but how your customers, potential customers and viewers see you, how they digest you. Because you may feel like you're putting something out, but that not be. That may not be the message that people are receiving. So if you're not getting the results that you want, I always go back with my private clients and I say, okay, let's dig into personal branding. Okay? So the way that I like to have my clients remember the key fundamentals of personal branding, you could tell that I'm a millennial is by using the acronym Big Papa. Okay? Like Biggie, Like, I love it when you call me Big Papa. Throw your hand. Okay? You get it? So, Papa P, O, P, P, A. All right? The first P, we're going to go through them quickly, and then we're going to go through them specifically. All right, so the first P and papa is position yourself. The O is optimize your platforms. The P is produce value. The other P is promote and engage. And the A is analyze and adapt. Okay? So Big Papa, position yourself, optimize your platforms, Produce value. Promote and engage and analyze and adapt. Once you understand how big Papa can really help your personal branding, it's going to be like clockwork. You're going to be like, oh, yeah, I get it, I get it, I get it. So let's dive into the first p. The first piece. Position yourself. You really, really have to understand what your niche is. For example, my niche, you could say, well, you know, she's a manager or she's an agent, or she's a consultant. She works with content creators and businesses. Yes, but my niche online is education. That's my primary niche. And then when we go into like, the niche of the niche is. My niche niche is I'm an educator for content creators and entrepreneurs within the digital marketing space. Okay, so it's very different to be an educator. Mel Robbins is an educator. Right. A third grade math teacher is an educator. Very different than me. So when we're talking about define your niche, you have to be really specific, like what you're about. So for example, if you're about fashion, are you about sustainable fashion? Are you about high, low, Are you about only luxury? Are you about things made only in the United States of America? Right? So when we're talking about niche, I want you to like, give me subcategories. And what you're going to discover is that those subcategories are actually your niche. Not fashion. Sustainable fashion, not education. Education for entrepreneurs and content creators online. And yes, you can have various ones. I also put fashion, because obviously that's my background. So play around with that. And I always suggest three or four, but make them specific. So that means that you already have a unique voice. You have your nation, you have a unique voice, you have a unique opinion within your niche, and you also have your target audience. So this all has to do with positioning yourself. If you understand who you are and what your message is and who you want to speak to, your target audience is going to come to you. And that all has to do with personal branding. The O is optimize your platforms. You guys, please, please, please, please, please make sure that your tone of voice is aligned across everything that you do. Your Instagram, your TikTok, your substack. Okay, so what this means is that when you are writing, when you are speaking, when I'm looking at your substack, when I'm looking at your Instagram, there has to be consistent branding in everything. You can't have a substack that's all black and goth. And then your Instagram is like your kids, and then your TikTok is your fashion life and your travel, right? And sometimes I see that happen because it's like, well, I started substack so I don't have to be, you know, like, who I am on Instagram or I, you know, Gosh, I love TikTok because I get. I get to dance. And that's beautiful. That's really romanticizing it. But I'm coming from a business point of view that is not a strategic nor smart business move. And you could say, well, then, when can I express my system across all the platforms? So if you love to dance and you're like, gosh, that's like, what I love to do. And I found that only TikTok is like the community that really likes it. Producing value. Oh, oh, oh, oh. And lastly, analyze and adapt. You have to use insights to see what. What your audience is gravitating towards. If you see that it's gravitating towards something, you're like, oh, man, I never thought that they would like that. Go for it. Build, repeat, expand. Success leaves clues. So if you're able to be what I call a social scientist and go into your Instagram, go into your TikTok metrics and really understand what is your audience asking of you. And if you could do that while defining your niche, optimizing your platforms, producing value, promoting and engaging, you're just going to be in the up and up. Another example, because I love painting pictures, when my Instagram, I used to. I would say about, like, four years ago, I wasn't educating so much, right? Like, if you found me and you knew who I was, you knew what I was doing. But my Instagram was more about my outfits and, you know, more of, like, I guess, the aesthetics of my job versus, like, what I actually do. And I remember I was in Fashion Week in Copenhagen probably, like two or three years ago, and I did a random video at that time of, like, how do influencers get dressed for Fashion Week? And I use myself as an example, even though I'm not an influencer, but it followed the same. I follow the same thing, like, as a traditional influencer. And I taught that that was my first video to ever go viral. The first video to ever go viral for me was when I finally started talking to you guys about what I do. When I started educating, like a light bulb switched on, I'm like, oh, duh. Authenticity. Yeah. Maybe instead of positioning myself as, like, somebody in fashion, I should position myself as somebody in fashion who teaches about the world of the creator economy, because that's actually my truth. I was able to define my niche really specifically, and then I started optimizing my platforms, and then I started to produce value, and then I started to promote and engage, and then I kept analyzing and adapting. Okay. I wonder if they like this. I wonder if you guys would like this. It's really, really exciting stuff when you take Big Papa and you put it to use. Okay. Because I am someone that is very much about action items. I'm very action oriented. I'm very goal oriented. I'm going to give you guys some homework. Okay? So the first thing I want you to do is I want you to define your three niches. It could be four, it could be five. Just let's stick to three for now. And I want you to be really specific. So if you're a chef, like, what kind of chef are you? Are you Nara Smith? You're a cook that may have some sort of. I don't want to call it skin disease, but she has eczema. So the reason that she cooks is because she wants to do things from scratch. She wants to know what she's putting in her body, and she's a mom. So I want you to be really, really clear about your three niches. I don't want fashion. I want travel. Like, be clear. Okay? That's homework number one. Homework number two is I want you to go into your bio of your Instagram, your TikTok, your Facebook, whatever social platforms you use, your substack, and I want you to make sure that they're all aligned, that we are very clear on how we are positioning you, and we're going to optimize all the platforms that you have. Homework number two. Homework number three, I want you to produce value. I want you to really go through all your posts and see, like, are you. Are some posts like this or so are you being as clear visually and clear with the messaging? If not, either change the COVID image or start changing the captions and moving forward, make sure that you're producing value every single during. Damn time. Darm. Damn. Darm. Damn time. There you go. And your last homework is I want you to go to your Instagram and TikTok and I want you to pinpoint two on each platform. So four, four posts total, two posts per platform that have done exceedingly well. And then I want you to replicate it in some capacity, and I want you to do that within the next two weeks. You think you could do that? So I gave you 1, 2, 3, 4 homework. We went through Big Papa together. And I really hope you guys enjoyed my first live. I'll see you next month.
