Hi, I'm Jack Canfield and today I want to talk to you about how to brand yourself and your business with an online personal brand so that you can attract qualified customers to your business. You know, the entire concept of personal branding has reached an all time fever pitch. People are talking about it everywhere, yet it has become more elusive and more challenging than ever before. From websites to social media to logos and colors and other branding requirements, small business owners and entrepreneurs are spinning in circles with a burning desire to build their brand, but a lack of understanding of what it really takes to make this successful and effective. Now, since I'm on a mission to empower business owners to reach their next level of success, of impact and of freedom, I have been on a mission to better understand the intricacies of brand building in today's world. And today I'm gonna share six must dos to build an authentic and magnetic personal brand that I learned from my technology partner. For a new resource we have called Business in a bo. Jared Yellen, who's the founder of an online marketing company called Cinduit. Now if you want to learn more about business in a box you can go to jackcampfield.commarketing now the first must do is to clearly define what you stand for. You know, I've seen the pain that businesses endure when their owner and their team do not have crystal clarity on what they stand for. You know, lack of clarity of what you stand for is not only painful for you, but it is painful to watch that you're missing your North Star. Now, when business owners are hyper clear on their stance in a way that is easy for them to understand and easy for others to digest as well, their odds are much higher for fast track to success, greater impact and freedom. Now here are the five phases of clarifying what you stand for. Phase one, ask yourself what do you stand against? Then phase two, look at what has been consistent when looking back on your journey to where you stand today. And then in phase three, look at what topics allow you to lose track of time and place because you're so immersed in them. And then in phase four, when you've lost track of time and place, how does it make you feel? And finally in phase five, define your stance in 10 words or less and declare I stand for. And then fill that in. Now for me it is I stand for personal transformation and people boldly living their true life purpose. What you stand for cannot be self serving and it can't be about your product, your service, certification, parent company or any of that. What you stand for should help people see that you're an expert in what you do and that you happen to sell your products, services, etc. Now what? You must take action and not get too romantic with this. Trust me, Hallmark is not going to hire you based on what you stand for, but your ideal customer, client and or patient will. So we need to get to work and I really don't want you to belabor this. Just go through the five phase process I shared earlier without any distraction or excuses. Okay, now for the second must do. Focus on what really matters when building your personal brand. It is so easy to get caught up with the superficials. Things like logos, colors, fonts, website design, business cards and all of that. But here's what I've learned to be true. All of the above does matter, but it does not matter more than starting the process you see on your quest to find the perfect font, color, designer, etc. You might be standing still while the world around you is running quickly. I would rather see you come out strong and start to declare what you stand for on all social media platforms, video, email, et cetera, than wait for your perfect website to go live. In the process of waiting, your brain will become watered down and the odds of you picking up the momentum when standing still are not in your favor. Yes, logos and colors matter 100%, but not more than your stand. Okay, now for the third must do Build and Implement an Annual Marketing Plan My technology partner Jared says an annual marketing plan is a comprehensive, consistent and predictable way to educate and inspire action within your business and beyond. Now your annual marketing plan becomes your North Star, your roadmap and the structure that that is required for greatness. And one of the number one mistakes that businesses make when things begin to go astray and get off track is they attempt to pull off a Hail Mary to get back on track. This approach to marketing your business is no different than planning a vacation one week from the day and recognizing you're not at your ideal weight for your swimsuit and then starving yourself for the week so that you can feel comfortable in your own skin while at the pool. We all know how that works out. One or both things will happen. Either you will not hit your goal and you will not feel good about yourself, or you will hit your goal, but you'll end up gaining even more weight once you've stopped starving yourself and your business is no different. And it's time that you build and implement an annual marketing plan. Starting today. Now. Jared's proven marketing formula, which is included in the Business in a Box encourages you to do the 12 webinars a year. That's one a month. See Webinars are one of the most important and effective strategies for education based marketing as they're accessible from anywhere they are recorded and they can be reused and leveraged in a variety of ways. Do four live events a year one each quarter See A live event is an in person experience that can take place at your office, your home, a restaurant, a local community center, a hotel, or even another business. And in person events are important as this will be your chance to look in the eyes of people with when sharing your message in a way that webinars will never permit, then you want to do two appreciation experiences a year. When you host appreciation experiences, you're giving your people a chance to feel like they belong, which will lead to a greater sense of loyalty and connection to you and your business. It also helps prospects seize the opportunity to meet others who they bring to each of these events and that could potentially begin utilizing your products and or services. You want to do two Referral Challenges each year. You see, the power of a referral is simply extraordinary for three reasons. Number one, you get ideal new business. Number two, someone in need is about to transform because of you. And number three, the person doing the referring becomes a hero. Now once you build and implement an annual marketing plan based on what you stand for, your personal brand will start to become more magnetic because you will show up in the life of your ideal audience on a consistent basis. Now for the fourth must do Create a private Facebook group for your ideal people. Far too many businesses are trying their absolute hardest to create momentum on Facebook, but the results associated with their efforts are less than desirable. Now you may be totally burned out by Facebook, but you know it's a necessary ingredient in your business. You see, the key to building any momentum on Facebook, especially if a big budget is not in the cards for you right now is is to set up a private Facebook group and begin to invite people to join if they share the overriding mission of the group. And the mission should be based on what you stand for. For example, if you stand for healthy and organic food for all children, then the Facebook group you launch should be a private community for families who value organic food for their children. And inside this group everyone should feel welcome to share recipes, ideas, strategies and so on that will help with the purpose of the group. You see, this is an entirely new way to look at your Facebook efforts and the primary focus is to build a tribe of like minded people which allows this group to expand organically. The outcome is real, friends. The outcome is raving fans. The outcome is a tribe. Okay, now for the fifth must do. You've got to commit to consistency. This is the most obvious and most difficult of the must dos. You see, consistency is the only way to achieve success in anything. Whether it's losing weight, improving your relationships, increasing your energy, learning a new skill, or building an authentic and magnetic personal brand. So let's make this easy. First, post on social media in a congruent fashion at least once each day. Second, record a video of yourself once each month. Third, send an email to your list, whether it's small or large, at least once each month. And fourth, build and implement your annual marketing plan. Do we have a deal? Are you going to do that? I want you to do that. Now for the sixth and final must do, Be afraid and do it anyway. See, if you've made it this far, then I'm going to make the assumption that you really are committed to being all in. It means you want to make a difference. It means you want more freedom. It means something is missing in your life and the world and you're committed to filling this void. So you need to embrace your fear and do it anyway. I promise that none of the strategies I've shared with you will put you in harm's way. Instead, they will become a catalyst for your authentic and magnetic personal brand. Now, before we part, let me recap quickly. Must do Number one what do you stand for? Must do Number focus on what really matters. Must do number three Build and implement an annual marketing plan. Must do number four Set up a private Facebook community. Number five Commit to consistency. And then finally, Must do number six Be afraid. That's normal. And do it anyway. I really like to give credit where credit is due. So again I want to acknowledge Jared Yellen, founder of Syndowit and our technology partner for developing business in a box for helping me come up with these must dos.
